+Monty CZ Posted November 24, 2008 Author Posted November 24, 2008 Thanks Monty!!!!Now i'm wondering see it in Italian Air force silver and Camo, just to remeber the crews who deserved loosing their lives flying the Packet during the Congo crisis.R.I.P. Ok I uploaded 3 more skins for it (Italian camo included), Shadow and Stinger is in the works too, but I needed to teach it fly before it got teeths, so this C-119 is a test plane. Any sugestions are welcome. Monty Quote
sparkomatic Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 wow! had a model of one of these when I was young(er)...was always amazed that it flew so well, being so damn ugly...truly pretty is as pretty does...my grandfather flew in one of these as a grunt going to far off lands... Quote
+hgbn Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 Very fine Aircraft. Like it very much Is it possible that you will upload the templates for public use?? so we can have many more skins for this beauty Quote
charlielima Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 Bitchin' All we need now is a pallet load of bombs we push out the back door. Hercs, 119s, CODS, could move some mud. The hercs had the daisey cutter. I'd still like to do LAPES or drop a stick of SEALS, Rangers or Force Recon and there zodiac boat out the back. Good ad on Monty. CL Quote
+Fracture Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 Great transport addition, thx Monty. Quote

+Timmy Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 I have an uncle who used to fly these in the Air Force. As I recall, he liked the aircraft because, "The engines usually waited until you were at altitude to quit - giving you enough time to find a place to crash." Quote
sugarblues Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 Anybody remember the words to the old Mess-hall ditty "We flew the flying boxcar up to 30 thousand feet"... many a beverage has been consumed to that one... Thanks for the great plane! SB Quote
dsawan Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 (edited) Thx, nice skin. would like to see a French skin as the boxcar was involved in Dien Bien Phu during France's foray in Southeast Asia. Perfect for WOV. See here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C-119 Edited November 25, 2008 by dsawan Quote
dsawan Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 A gunship version would be awesome for this bird: See here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairchild_AC-119 Quote
+gerwin Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 This is an interesting aircraft to add to the game! The model looks good, and the textures are done very well. I made it a static transport plane for airfields, as the C-130 started to bore me. The data changes for this to work are below. Wikipedia says the servicestartyear can be 1955 (instead of 1968). The only downside is that the package is without lower detail models (additional LOD files), this way a formation of planes brings my framerate down quite a bit. C-119_data.ini [MissionData] NationName=USAF ServiceStartYear=1955 ServiceEndYear=1973 AircraftRole=TRANSPORT AircraftCapability=DAY_AND_NIGHT Availability=VERY_COMMON Exported=TRUE ExportStartYear=1959 ExportAvailability=VERY_COMMON PrimaryRoles=TRANSPORT,AIR_ASSAULT SecondaryRoles= NormalMissionRadius=900 MaxMissionRadius=925 Ceiling=7620.0 MinBaseSize=SMALL Quote
