Fubar512 Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 The Giant Claw, a movie that satisfies both our interest in classic aircraft, and in watching ground-breaking special effects: THE GIANT CLAW Quote
Slartibartfast Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 Okay thats so bad... it must good... Quote
Fubar512 Posted March 14, 2010 Author Posted March 14, 2010 Okay thats so bad... it must good... I don't know what's worse, the Giant Claw, or the Deadly Mantis. The latter is infamous for its protangonist (s 30 foot tall Mantis) standing upright in the Holland Tunnel, which has 11.5 feet of clearance. Quote
Von Paulus Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 Any Japanese Gamera film beat that. Look at Gamera vs. Viras for example. Quote
Nightshade/PR Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 Now remind me again; which one was the turtle with rockets in it's butt? Quote
JediMaster Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 That's Gamera, which is what we named our pet turtle. I loved watching the Gamera films on MST3K back in the 90s. Quote
FalconC45 Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Watch Gamera film "Revenge of Iris" very dark and bloody for a Japanese monster film. Falcon Quote
+Piecemeal Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 The Giant Claw, eh? I'd watch that one with a six pack of beer just for the sheer comic value. And what?; Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus? I bet the producers were up all night thinking up the title for that one Quote
Wrench Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 ....and what I can't believe is when SyFy Channel showed mega-shark-octosquid whatever, I actually sat there and watched it all the way through!!! I mean, I just had to see the shark jump out out the water and eat a 747 at 10000 feet.... Gotta admit, SFC's movies ARE good for a few laughs, and more than a few groans... (c'mon, Debbie Gibson?????) wrench kevin stein Quote
Silverbolt Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 mega shark Vs whatever octopus is a bad joke....and that awful scene where the F-22 is shot down by the giant octopus arm?:rofl: Quote
SUICIDAL Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 I do not understand as Lorenzo Lamas It lends itself to this kind of movies. That guy in my times as a child was my hero. It is unfortunate to see him in movies Cheap Quote
MigBuster Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Looks like Asylum films have produced quite a lot of straight (~31) to DVD movies like the above - imagine if they had instead tried to make a few good ones! That giant Claw is too funny btw Quote
FastCargo Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 (c'mon, Debbie Gibson?????) Actually, that's Deborah Gibson...and she's kind of hot now... Wired Magazine had a very interesting article on The Asylum, their business model is different to say the least... FC Quote
