@ heretic - quite a low-level laydown but I've got some assorted nuke effects in my folder (can't remember where from) one of which must be creating that effect that came as a surprise to me! Very well done to the person/persons concerned.

Skyhawks in air to air missions? A properly flown Sabre could have been quite a danger for them, could not they?

@PH, the Aussies used their A-4G primarily for fleet defense purpose, going so far as not to adopt the A2G improvements of the A-4F their A-4G were based upon.

The Argentinians also used their Skyhawks for A2A duties although with more emphasis on A2G than the Australians.

Finally, the Skyhawk served as a fleet defender in the early 60's on some of the smaller ASW carriers of the US Navy.

It is a fair match, the Sabre has better guns, acceleration and high altitude performance, the Skyhawk has better low-level, low-speed handling, better armor and twice the AIM-9 payload.

Keep in mind that Aussie pilots had far more training and flying hours than the Indonesians.

Plus the Indonesian recently converted from MiGs to ex-Australian Sabre.

Wasn't there a nuke effects pack for SF1? Maybe you've ported it over?

I think I need to make my SF2E installation a bit more "nucular" at one point and do a bit of toss bombing with F-101s or freefall nuking with B-52s or turning a ckuster of drones into glowing debris. :D

Wow, I did not know that :good:

Still hard to imagine a slow jet like the Skyhawk to be used for air defence...

Absolutely stunning shot.

Thanks!
