since the pre-war Vindicators are starting to look pretty good, I thought I have a go at one of their hangar-mates

Should have known better -- the exception to the rule is "everyone once and a while, you'll find a pasko model that DOESN'T have a decal bleed"

This one IS the rule -- most do. Well, there's 3 days work down the singularity ... kcuf

note to self --- talk a 3d modeler willing to build new Wildcats .....

Boss, I discover a way to avoid this decal leakings. Simply add REVERSE=TRUE to one of thered band.

hhmmm???? what about the lettering? I'm almost at the decals-per-mesh limit (there's only engine cowling & fuselage, no tail excepting the vert fin)

I assume I;ll have to make another set for the right side only??

EDIT:

nope, that didn't work. oh well, we tried!!! :stars:

unfortunately, each 3-plane flight in the squadron has it's own color band, so must be Level-2 decals. Not biggie; Wildcats only wore the full color markings for about 6 months, before going to all-over NS gray in early 1941. That one we already got! but thanks!

I got a way to solve it, believe me. Pass me the decals and I´ll fix it.

A handful of P-40N Warhawk/Kittyhawk Mk.IV skins: a generic late war USAAF silver, a generic USAAF olive drab over neutral grey, a generic OD over NG in Soviet colors, a Soviet winter camo, RAF No. 250 Squadron in TLS (Italy, 1945), as well as SAAF No. 11 Squadron in DFS (also Italy, 1945).

Back where everything started some time ago... Building ships is very very time consuming to get the details and the never ending issue of balancing details and poly count with FPS and performance... but we are there...

Normally, I'd post these in the WW2 WIPs, but as only 7 or 8 of us are totally Prop Heads ....

Some of the other projects from Coyote Aerospace, courtesey angelp.

There ARE a host of others, too

Boss, I´m a Prop Head from the start as you may know, and the new planes are most welcome BUT... will they be released?

Rules are rules...
