I'll start with the format we'll be using: Dark Blue World - Czech Torpedo Bomber - Russia Stalingrad - Germany Das Boot - Germany Alright, keep it coming so I can Netflix it or burn it. Capitaine Vengeur 263 Posted February 26, 2012 Most of the best French war movies rather target WW1: - A very long engagement : unorthodox investigation about a past strange episode in the no man's land - Capitaine Conan : incursion on the forgotten Balkan Front with unruly skirmishers - Joyeux Noël : Christmas fraternization in the no man's land - to be watched in original version for the priceless international casting
+Piecemeal 450 Posted February 26, 2012 One of the best war movies I've ever seen is a 2004 South korean movie based during the Korean War: Plenty of great action scenes as well as a good storyline. I bought it on DVD from Amazon after a friend loaned me a copy.

Capitaine Vengeur 263 Posted February 26, 2012 I've just bought and watched last week "Fortress of War" (Russia) and "Passchendaele" (Canada). I've liked the first one, the second not that much...
firehawkordy 34 Posted February 29, 2012 (edited) The Odd Angry Shot (1979) Australia Aussie SAS in Viet Nam, so this about 82 or 83 not a bad pic, and not as preachy as that crap Stone was producing. Edited February 29, 2012 by firehawkordy

SayethWhaaaa 245 Posted March 4, 2012 The Odd Angry Shot is a great Vietnam movie. It's just a shame the more recent Australian war flicks like Beneath Hill 60 and (especially) Kokoda have been more stylised and melodramatic than factual. Dark Blue World is pretty good. Stalingrad and Das Boot were fantastic. As was The Blue Max (WWI).
+allenjb42 4,234 Posted March 5, 2012 It's been a while since I saw it but Attack Force Z was pretty good (& I loved the silenced M3 Greaseguns!). http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0083591/ Australian & NZ SAS attempt to rescue a Japanese defector from a Japanese-infested island in the Pacific.
