Wrench Posted May 10, 2014 Author Posted May 10, 2014 (edited) it's not a "what if". 220 Squadron, Coastal Command, Fortress IIA. Flew from N.Ireland on North Sea/Atlantic patrols before moving down to Lajes in the Azores, and then transitioned to Liberator GR.VI & VII Some mapping issues with the cowl flaps, and I can't seem to get the 'up-swoop' on the fin quite right, but it's nearly 100%. Still have to do serials. Missing the ASV's Yagi antenna, but that's a minor matter, really When the other E models are done (ETO & PTO), I may release this. It's got NA coding for Naval_Search and Naval_Strike. (ETO 17E's are under the 4th FG Spit in the screenie below) Edited May 10, 2014 by Wrench 3 Quote

Wrench Posted May 10, 2014 Author Posted May 10, 2014 Indeed! I think these "patrol bombers" are just something fun to have; seeing them loitering around the sky, or parked on the ramps. Player usage is exceedingly limited, unfortunately, as are all Heavies. -------------- 99 Squadon Wimpy's (mk.X), Burma 1942 3 Quote

Wrench Posted May 23, 2014 Author Posted May 23, 2014 Limping for Home (you can't see it on this pic, but there's now panel and rivet lines under amariani's skin. Should have the full templates done next week) Quote
amariani Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 I've been working on my templates too. They all have full panel lines and most rivets now. Also, all squadrons released previously now have painted-on markings and national insignias! 2 Quote
Wrench Posted May 23, 2014 Author Posted May 23, 2014 stay with decals for the code letters and national insignia as much a possible. It de-complicates things. The only thing you want to paint on are the "specifics" -- like ID bands, Invasion stripes (and use start dates in the texture set inis, so you'll need at least 2 of each squadron -- one with, one without. Don't forget, for the most part, even the 'under stripes' were gone by November/December 44) The only thing the template WON'T have is the actual metal skin, as I suck at NM texturing. Quote
Wrench Posted May 24, 2014 Author Posted May 24, 2014 YAH!!! THAT'S the skin we need! Check NDiki's Mustang IV pak for a buttload of premade decals and such Quote
Stratos Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Thanks for posting all those pics guys. I'm thinking in trying a WW2 install. Where should I start? There's any all in one theatre download? Quote

Heck Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Three reasons you should never attack a bomber box from behind and below... 1) They're hard to catch... 2) Your wingnuts will suffer... 3) They have a really long time to shoot you to bits... 2 Quote
