+Fubar512 Posted March 12, 2017 Posted March 12, 2017 Check out the name of this boat design. Those of you that are familiar with the H.G. Wells novel "The War of the Worlds" will get it immediately. https://www.safehavenmarine.com/the-boat 4
KJakker Posted March 12, 2017 Posted March 12, 2017 (edited) Let me guess, Thunderchild? Edited March 12, 2017 by KJakker
Skyviper Posted March 12, 2017 Posted March 12, 2017 Shoot, now I need to go find my book. Wait, didn't they rewrite that book a couple of times?
tn_prvteye Posted March 12, 2017 Posted March 12, 2017 Still my favorite version: (and yes I know that F-100s weren't the movie...I took some artistic license building this ) 2
charlielima Posted March 12, 2017 Posted March 12, 2017 but what about weapons systems???? MK-1 Mod 0 Microbe launchers ? CL
RUSTYMORLEY Posted March 12, 2017 Posted March 12, 2017 MK-1 Mod 0 Microbe launchers ? CL I do believe that Thunderchild eventually rammed one of the Martian Tripods before it was itself destroyed.
charlielima Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 Heinous. We need faster acting germs. Armor piercing, HE, and fragmentation. CL 2
jeanba Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 A new french comics, called : "La Grande Guerre Des Mondes" : "The Great War of the Worlds" : 2
+SayethWhaaaa Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 Damn you guys. I really want to dig out my copy of the JWWOTW game from '98 now, but I don't have functioning CD drive. :(Really wish they'd make a movie of this but set at the turn of the 19th/20th centuries, not these bloody 'modern era' ones, and especially without any annoying AF emo teens like the 2005 one.
RUSTYMORLEY Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 something like this, perhaps? Yes exactly what I had envisioned, sadly in the story-line we lost one good warship for only one enemy tripod taken out. A brave and valiant effort by Thunderchild but also a costly one.!!!!!!
+Wrench Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 there is an English version, set in the proper 1898/99 time frame. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H._G._Wells%27_The_War_of_the_Worlds_(Timothy_Hines_film) iirc, it's a straight to DVD release. I own, and it's "OK"; the CGI leaves a lot to be desired...but, as a period piece,......
Emp_Palpatine Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 You guys might want to have a look at the BBC's mockumentary "The Great Martian War".
+Wrench Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 I've seen that on cable, I LIKED it!! I thought it was pretty well done
