How odd that is, as it's been in Gunny's Ordanance Shop since 2009 (ish)

Just to save the effort in looking for it, I've attached it's zipped folder. Unzip, and drop into your /Weapons folder

M118.7z

and converting from SF1 to SF2 is a very simple matter of text editing. IIRC. there's a tutorial in the KB; but it's probably buried near the back

hence my statement

it also lists it as a component of a GBU-9 HOBOS (hint hint wink wink nudge nudge)

the only picture i found of the GBU-9 , no idea of length or wing spann or if it ever entered service

F-4E dash 1 from 1979 has both the GBU-9/B (M118 EO) and GBU-11/B (M118 Paveway 1 kit) in the loadout.

Don't have anything on the F-104 and M118.

looking at your pic plus pics of teh regualr (2000lb) HOBOS, i'd say the guidance and steering packages are the same.

but the question of was it intended to be used is a REALLY relevant one. main use i can think of late 70s/early 80s would be dropping bridges and closing tunnels in Korea and Germany.

like RSR but with Phantoms and bigger boom.

meanwhile i was predominantly joking about the HOBOS version. would be cool but i dont think its a desperately missed weapon if you dont pursue it

this after thinking of a Hill Reserve F-105 lobbing one in some time around 1983.......

dont worry  :drinks:

i did the GBU-8 all ready and i started with the GBU-9 over a year ago but  stopped the work because i could not find any pictures showing some more details , actually it is the same with the M118 with the air inflatable retarder i started the work on it and stopped it because i cant find a single picture of that weapon all i have is a pdf with several drawings

so i´m going to make the weapons if i get more and better pictures

i used most of the parts from my GBU-8 for my GBU-9 , i had to scale them and adjust so the fit ruffly with the dimensions i have but the result ist not that good so the GBU-9 has to wait

M118 with air inflatable retarder ( ballute system ) , i have many drawings but not a single picture thats why this one is on hold as well actually that is my biggest problem finding good pictures and the dimensions , most of my time is wasted searching for this stuff

would be so cool to have the M118 with the ballute
