F-5GN Sea Tiger (What if) ***************************************************** This mod is made for SF2. ---------------------------------------------------------- I. History (fiction) In 1969 there were decisive elections in West Germany. In reality, the Social Democrats won. A new foreign policy followed and a period of reduction of tensions between East and West. WHAT IF, the other side had won? What if the conservatives had won and Franz Joseph Strauß (an old bavarian Commie eater) would have become Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany? And so it starts. In 1969 Strauß was elected as Chancellor. A period of rising tensions between East and West started. To protect the sea lanes between Europe and America the west german parliament Bundestag decided to build up a west german carrier force consisting of 3 carriers. The american gouvernment was pleased and offered to sell 3 carriers of the Essex class (subclass Ticonderoga). The first ship which was handed over was CV-34 Oriskany in 1969. Renamed in R-22 Theodor Heuss it was core of the first west german carrier group. 1973 CV-38 Shangri-La became R-23 Heinrich Lübke (later renamed in Walter Scheel) and two years later CV-45 Valley Forge became R-24 Gustav Heinemann. The americans offered A-4 Skyhawk and F-8 Crusader as planes for the carrier group. The Bundesmarine accepted the A-4, but rejected the Crusader, because the Bundesmarine wanted a more multi role capable plane, not only a pure fighter. At this moment Northrop entered the competition and offered a navalised version of the brand new F-5E Tiger. Under the designation F-5GN (German Navy) it should be produced in America and Germany. The west german government accepted the offer and the serial production of the F-5GN started. During flight tests on the way the US Marines decided, that it would be a good idea to replace their old F-8 Crusaders with F-5GN planes. So the F-5GN became a Marine plane. Later, when the Marines retired their attack carriers the surviving F-5GN were transfered to Top Gun school. The F-5GN stayed in west german service till 1995. Then it was replaced by F-31 Mustang II. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- II. CREDITS: The F-5GN based on Centurions 2014 released F-5E package. A lot of files i have taken from this package. Thanks for this files! A-37B USAF Pack This is the current end point for two years worth of work. Centurion-1 began by creating a new model for the Super Tweet, several contributors later we are releasing it to you Included are decals, new J85 sound, an updated squadronlist.ini, appropriate weapons, and 3 versions of the aircraft. - A-37B: the original, as used by the USAF, Air National Guard, and several Latin American air arms. no refuel probe - A-37B (76): adds refuel probe, as used by US ANG and USAF Reserve units the second half of the 1970s - OA-37B: Final version as in US service, and as currently used by Latin American air arms. With refuel probe - Photoshop templates for those that want to bring the other air forces into play **********************************KNOWN ISSUES*********************************************************** -Cockpit is missing throttles. Unless Centruion1 returns this is unresolveable -Lod is locked in, unless Centurion-1 returns. -Modders: there is a bleed issue on the right side. any bands like the VNAF had need to be on skin, not tga. small decals like insignia work fine. -This mod uses my master squadronlist.ini. IF installed into another install with other than stock squadronlist, do not install. It will mess up the other things on your install and my mod is adapted to force the decals. NOTICE: this mod currently is AS IS and can only be modded by skinning and ini edits. It's not perfect, but its in house and therefore free. ******************************************************************************************************************************** Installation: drop into mod folders. allow overwrites if it comes up. Delete DAT version, this replaces and upgrades player experience. Modders, put the templates where you wish to work on them DON'T FORGET TO BACK UP BEFORE INSTALLING! ****************NOTE!!!!!! IMPORTANT NOTE ************************************************************* If you install this in a install that has eburgers SF2V Air & Ground Expansion Pack, DO NOT INSTALL THE PILOTDATA FOLDER!!!! This will overwrite the Squadronlist.ini in the pack and may break something. If you do not have the Air&Ground pack or NATO Fighters installed the new squadronlist ini will work fine and be a big improvement for units available. ********************************************************************************************************* References: Squadron/Signal A-37/T-37 Dragonfly in action Wikipedia Google Images Credits Centurion-1: original model, template and mapping work Crusader:Cockpit and data.ini tweaks Wrench:various FM and ini tweaks, original hangar screens Eole: Vietnamese versions (North and South), loading screens, additional template work, additional FM and ini work VA56Champ: tga work that helped expedite the process from Thai skins ravenclaw_007: all weapons except for the A-37 Tanks Daddyairplanes:USAF, Peru, Thai and Dhimar skins, final wrap up, template tweaks and decal.ini setup Engine sound: (F80Engine)currently unknown, if this was you let me know so I can give you proper credit. Timor, North Oceania (1950-2018) Terrain August 13th, 2018 (1st Release) by Menrva >For Strike Fighters 2: Vietnam, Recommended Full-5 Merged This is a complete remake of the Modern Darwin terrain made by Wrench. A better and more complete tileset has been added, improving the looks of Northern Australia with the introduction of desert and barren valleys. Various rivers and lakes have been hand-tiled and mimic Real World courses. Now the island of Timor has a lot of bases to take-off from. Numerous target areas, such as emergency airstrips and civilian airports, have been added in order to expand playability, targets of opportunity and year range. This terrain features a fresh new 250m resolution heightmap (instead of the stock 500m resolution), allowing for greater details and precision in elevation changes; overall it provides the whole terrain with a better look. The terrain spans from August 17, 1950 (when President Sukarno proclaimed a single unitary Republic of Indonesia) to December 31, 2018; it is designed for fictional clashes between ANZUS/SEATO forces (namely Australia and New Zealand) and a random pool of Red Side countries (namely Indonesia and China). Targets reflect Real World events as accurately as possible; for instance, some airfields will appear only after a certain year, according to historic changes. If you have SF2NA, naval fleets might spawn in the Timor Sea. Also, Off Map Airbases have been added and long range AI flights can be generated from them. All main targets have been placed accurately in their Real World locations. Ground Objects are not included. You can obtain the most needed from Wrench's original Modern Darwin terrain release. >Credits (in no particular order): -Wrench, for he had the idea of recreating such a scenario in the Strike Fighters world. -swambast, who provided me with invaluable help in tracking and fixing common and uncommon bugs. -gerwin, whose TFDtool has proved to be essential in today's terrain making. If the terrain is pretty accurate to RL it's also because of him. I included his very nice Airfield 7+8 Addon Pack, too. -mue, for the improved shaders he made, which I have included and reworked for the terrain, and for the tools he made for SF2 modding. -luk1978, for the waternormal bitmap he shared at the SF2 screenshots thread. Your mods are very interesting! -MigBuster, I have included some of his great hi-res textures for runways. -Stary, for the hi-res PTO tileset he made, which I have reworked and expanded. -Brain32, for the gorgeous VietnamSEA tileset repaint he made, from which I borrowed a few tiles. -Centurion-1, Spudknocker and tiopilotos, for the impressive tileset they made for the Angola terrain, from which I borrowed some tiles. -Gepard, for his great tutorials about terrain making, in the SF1 Knowledge Base at CombatACE. It's a gold mine! -krfrge, who has produced a tutorial for recreating SF2-like planning maps, which prompted me to work on templates and my own high quality planning maps. Thank you very much! -comrpnt, for his Approach and Airfield Lighting Pack mod packages for SF1 series, which I reworked and included. Because the original terrain was made and tweaked numerous times by Wrench, I included the ReadMe files from his original packages, to the end of giving proper credit to everyone involved directly or not. >Disclaimer: This is a freeware; yet it can be redistributed ONLY in other CombatACE mods/mod packages. Any changes to the terrain package's files and/or any copy-and-paste attempts of their contents are NOT authorized if you plan to release them in other mods. But permission might be granted to those who request it to me at CombatACE. This terrain may NOT in any way, shape or form be used in any payware additions.

Iraq, Western Asia (1980-2003) Terrain February 13th, 2017 (1st Release) by Menrva >For Strike Fighters 2, Recommended Full-5 Merged This is a complete remake of the DS/IR terrain released long time ago by Wrench. The entire map has been retargetized and retiled using a whole new tileset, combining tiles from JSF_Aggie, Stary, Centurion-1 and my bad transition tiles. All major water bodies, lakes and some minor rivers have been hand-tiled. The Caspian Sea coast had to be hand-tiled as well. Numerous target areas have been added in order to expand playability, targets of opportunity and year range. This terrain features a fresh new 250m resolution heightmap (instead of the stock 500m resolution), allowing for greater details and precision in elevation changes; overall it provides the whole terrain with a better look. The terrain spans from September 22, 1980 (the beginning of the Iran/Iraq War) to May 1, 2003 (the end of major combat operations of Operation Iraqi Freedom); it is designed for the Iran/Iraq War, Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm, Operation Desert Fox and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Iraq is Enemy, Iran is Friendly, other countries are Friendly as well. Due to limitations in the terrain engine, and not wanting to make three different terrains, I opted to set Iran as Friendly together with other countries such as Saudi Arabia. While you might see US planes spawn in Iran during Single Missions even if the 1979 Iranian Revolution already happened, it's up to the users to play with missions in the editor to fix any historical oddities. Targets reflect Real World events as accurately as possible; for instance, after the invasion of Kuwait by Iraq, Kuwaiti airfields are set as Neutral, enemy targets appear inside Kuwait, etc. Some airfields won't be available after a certain date and/or will change name according to historic changes. Various Operation Desert Storm expeditionary bases and FOBs have been added, and will appear only during Operation Desert Storm dates. All main targets are in their Real World locations (I tried to be as accurate as possible, to such a level that even surpasses ThirdWire's stock terrains). Shiraz Int'l Airport and Prince Sultan Airbase are beyond the Wall. However, if you have SF2NA, long range AI flights can be generated from such airbases. Ground Objects are not included. You can obtain most of them from Wrench's original Iran-Iraq terrains, or from other mod packages. >Credits (in no particular order): -Wrench, who reworked the original terrain and provided the CombatACE community with plenty of mods and scenarios to play with. He gave me invaluable advise, the tools I needed and introduced me to the beautiful, exhausting world of terrain modding/making. Thank you, sir! -swambast, who offered to build two high quality 3D models (Mosul Dam and Mosul Grand Mosque), featured for the first time in this terrain, it's an honor! He also provided major help in tracking and fixing common and uncommon bugs. If the terrain is stable (no CTDs), it's his merit! -Nyghtfall, for creating 3d models of the Kuwait Water Towers and Kuwait Freedom Towers. -tiopilotos, for providing reworked .tga tiles with new alpha channels. Much appreciated! -Spudknocker, who helped me complete the 1980-2003 beta version of the terrain, providing additional target areas. -gerwin, whose TFDtool has proved to be essential in today's terrain making. If the terrain is pretty accurate to RL it's also because of him. I included his very nice Airfield 7+8 Addon Pack, too. -MigBuster, I have included some of his great hi-res textures for runways. -mue, for the improved shaders he made, which I have included and reworked for the terrain, and for the tools he made for SF2 modding. -luk1978, for the waternormal bitmap he shared at the SF2 screenshots thread. Your mods are very interesting! -Crusader, who provided me with the info I needed about ODS and other stuff related to targets. -JSF_Aggie, for his high quality DS tileset, which I have expanded with my horrible transition tiles. -7eleven, who directed me to a website filled with Desert Storm related info. -Centurion-1, since I used some tiles from his Desert 4 Mountain Regions+ Addon. I tried to contact you for permission, but it seems RL got in your way. Your WIP mod about the Iran/Iraq war gave me the motivation to complete this terrain. The least I can say is thank you. Best of luck, mate! -Stary, because his tilesets are pure art. I borrowed a few TODs and tiles from his excellent IsraelME tileset. -Gepard, for his great tutorials about terrain making, in the SF1 Knowledge Base at CombatACE. It's a gold mine! -Stratos, who supported me support during the terrain's development. I am totally sure I missed someone, especially because the terrain was born from Wrench's original ones. So I also included Wrench's original readme files from his IR and IR2003 terrains to the end of giving proper credit to everyone involved directly or not. >Disclaimer: This is a freeware; yet it can be redistributed ONLY in other CombatACE mods/mod packages. Any changes to the terrain package's files and/or any copy-and-paste attempts of their contents are NOT authorized if you plan to release them in other mods. This is the so called "Kaiman" camo skin, which one east german L-410UVP light passenger and transport plane had. L-410UVP-T Turbolet Kaiman skin ***************************************************** This mod is made for SF2. ---------------------------------------------------------- I. History The czech made L-410UVP light passenger and transport plane was developed to replace the old AN-2 biplanes. After a first version, called L-410A, the soviet Aeroflot airline demanded some changes, including better short take off capabilities. So the version L-410UVP was developed and widely exported in the COMECON states. The east german air force LSK, purchased 12 planes in 1980. They used it as training airplane for tranport pilots and navigators and for transport tasks. Parachute missions were made with the subversion L-410UVP-T (t- stands for Transport). VIP transport was made with subversion L-410UVP-S (s stands for Salon). Both versions were easy to discriminate. The T version had a black rubber plate behind the side door. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- II. CREDITS: The skin is: ~~~~~~~~~~~ made by me. F-106A Delta Dart The Convair F-106 Delta Dart was the primary all-weather interceptor aircraft of the United States Air Force from the 1960s through to the 1980s. Designed as the so-called "Ultimate Interceptor", it proved to be the last dedicated interceptor in U.S. Air Force service to date. It was gradually retired during the 1980s. F-106A Project Six Shooter 1972 In 1972 F-106As were upgraded in Project Six Shooter that involved fitting the F-106 with a new canopy without metal bracing which greatly improved pilot visibility. Also added was an optical gunsight, and provision for a single M61 Vulcan 20 mm cannon. The M61 Vulcan had 650 rounds of ammunition in the center weapons bay and it replaced the AIM-26 Super Falcon or Genie. QF-106A Drone Pacer Six Between 1 June 1983 and 1 August 1988 the Delta Darts were incrementally retired and sent to the Military Storage and Disposition Center in Arizona. When the need for a high performance Full Scaled Aerial Target Drone was required the USAF began withdrawing Delta Darts from storage. Starting in 1986, 194 (F-106A and B) of the surviving surplus aircraft were converted into target drones and these were designated QF-106As and used for target practice vehicles under the Pacer Six Program by the Aerial Targets Squadron. The last was destroyed in January 1998.The drones were still capable of being flown as manned aircraft, such as for ferrying to a test; during the test they were flown unmanned. The QF-106 replaced the QF-100 Super Sabre drone; the last shoot down of a QF-106 (57-2524) took place at Holloman AFB on 20 February 1997 after which the QF-106 was superseded by the QF-4S and QF-4E Phantom II drone. I was so sick of looking at the old Model of the Hercules SAM missile, that I decided to finally build one by myself. Learning the use of 3ds Max just for this purpose It's not a super-ultra detailed model with 10 thousands of polys, like you see sometimes these days , but it was never ment to be so. This package includes the minimum bundle to make the Nike Hercules system fully functional: new MIM-14 Hercules missile - 3D model, texture & .ini-work DaniloE31 (that's me) Nike 4x launcher - model by ErikGen, .ini-work DaniloE31 Nike LoPAR search radar - model by ErikGen, .ini-work DaniloE31 Nike TTR tracking radar - model by ErikGen, .ini-work DaniloE31 The ini's in this bundle are set to a network called "NIKE" and work together so they actually fire missiles at the Red Planes! You can install the pack in your ModFolder™\Objects\ , but in case you don't want to mess up your existing Nike Objects, you can also just take the following files: Weapons\MIM-14\Hercules.LOD Weapons\MIM-14\ Hercules_LOD002.LOD Weapons\MIM-14\Hercules.bmp and use the new missile. I used the very same Files & Node Names so you can eventually place the new LODs without the need of editing a single ini. I hope you enjoy it! DaniloE31
