well I'll be ... I must have been having a captain's moment.

The little box is the same as clicking on the member name. It's just easier to start new conversation by using the MESSENGER Feature or going to the member's profile you want to start a conversation with and click the link as described above. The little image is a duplicate for browser compatibility but it links you to the same place as the link in the member's display name. At least that's what it looks like to me. E

If you would ... Go here: Manage Attachments See if that file appears on your list of attached files. Since it just appeared it *should* be near the top of the list, but look through the list if it's not at the top. Let me know if you find it. If you do then mystery solved ... somehow it was accidentally attached maybe by clicking the attachment button instead of the post button. I know I've done it a couple times myself when I stop reading and click because it's the next button right under the text editor. Brings to mind maybe somehow changing that button color. Anyway .... if you do find it then you can delete it, or edit your PM to remove it. Thanks.

Actually ... Our new search engine is powered by Sphinx which is an incredible indexing agent. After the transition to the new boards I forgot a small config edit which left Sphinx in a state of "well what next". I rebuilt the database permissions and re-indexed sphinx. I heard a sigh of relief I swear! The search engine is up and running as it was intended to be. There's a post in the bug section about this. Give it a go and let me know what you think and that it's working for you. Thanks. E

This was almost an orgasmic fix for the poor machine ... I swear I heard it moan and sigh. Database rebuilt and re-indexed. Sphinx re-indexed. Feature should be available to all users now as originally intended. You guys must have thought I was nutz telling you how great the new search tool is. wow ... I absolutely feel dumb as a rock. Well like Fates said it's normal but it's like a drink with an umbrella .... just not right. Fates was correct that the aggregate post count on the left is a total count of post eligible counting versus actual forum posts. During the transition the posts counts are not rebuilt that's a manual tool that can be run if necessary. I didn't run the post count rebuild tool because it has been known in the past to change member's post count dramatically if posts are being counted from forums that are no longer here, or from other features no longer here. I didn't want to start chaos and have Dave wondering why his post count was averagely normal. LOL E --RESOLVED--

I can honestly say this isn't a resource issue on our end. To make things faster for display purposes I can cache the pages to php instead of mysql but since there isn't an issue with mysql, it's load, or traffic volume then it stands to reason that's not a solid fix. The other possibility is encode the site to gzip pages which makes the total transfer smaller from our side of things but causes issues with some people not being able to view the boards if their connection upstream doesn't handle compression. Either way these are minor changes in the grade scale of things. The new code base is much leaner and cleaner and for all intensive purposes much faster. Personally I have zero page load issues. So I can better understand what may be affecting your connection can I ask the two that are having problems to do a couple things. 1. Report your browser and version you're running. 2. Your operating system you're running. 3. Ping the site and report back with either a screen shot or copy paste of the results. START > RUN > Type CMD > Press [ENTER] > Black command window opens and at the prompt type: ping combatace.com -n 40 --> to copy paste from the command window right click anywhere on the top file bar and you should get a drop down > Select Edit >> Mark - You can now highlight the text you want to copy. When you've highlighted all the text you want to copy press [ENTER] and that will copy it to your clipboard. You can then right click in a forum response and use the paste option or use [CTRL]+ V. Thanks.

All skins? Go to the bottom of any page. In the lower left is a skin selection tool. Choose another skin like IP BOARD and try the feature again. If you wouldn't mind report back. You can then change your skin back or to whatever skin you wish to use. Thanks.

Thanks for that however this is something I put together for them and if it's not working then it is no reflection on them. I will look into this tonight and I sincerely apologize. I assure you it's something just not working with the code base that I'll get cleared up. E

Sitting Duck ... Looks like everything is working as it should. The link to renew or upgrade won't be available (read: show on that page) until 7 days prior to the expiration date. So you should see it on or after September 2nd, 2009. So you're in the right place and everything appears as it's working correctly. You can also check on the main forum page on the right side there's a block there that has all your subscription details. Uncleal ... Sorry about that. In developing the new site I actually created a duplicate running on it's own database and code base. I imagine that both of them are firing off emails or something to that affect. I'll be removing that site soon enough so this won't happen again. Sorry for the confusion. E

Toggle between them until you're able to upload. For the most part both the upgrades to the text editor feature and the uploader should be supported by most current browsers.
