  1. Check this out: http://riseofflight.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=278&t=27944 What DiFiS wrote using Google translator describing his little tool:
  2. Indeed, here is a famous photo of Jasta 11 at Rocourt, taken somewhere between the 20th and the 25th of April 1917. There is no indication of leaves on the trees whatsoever, even if it was taken technically in spring...
  3. I had the same problem with you, at first... You'll get used to the feeling after some time. When I went back to RoF after a long period of only OFF flying, I felt more useless than the day I tried the demo for the first time! May be the FMs and Physics in OFF not being so complex as RoF's ones, but IMO are more well balanced, in their given environment. (in RoF some planes are over performing and some the opposite).
  4. Some time ago I started working on some skins for my favorite WWI plane: The Albatros D.V! (You may visit my Jasta 37 WiP thread in SimHQ for further details) http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3401789/My_first_WiP_skins_Jasta_37_Al.html#Post3401789 From the template created, I tried to make some new generic default skins for the D.Va in RoF, in order to address many mistakes the current defaults have. One thing led to another and now I'm in the making of a brand new "Johannisthal Mod", for the D.V-D.Va (and not only) like the one we created with Graf and JFM for the D.III. I've been studying to death old pics and contemporary research essays, about the hue of the colours used originally and tried to best adapt all these into RoF's world... I have to say I feel pretty pleased with my results... :) This Mod using a new, modified "universal" normal map, will give as accurate as possible, (within RoF's 3d model's limitations), external models for practically any D.V-D.Va variant. (the FM will remain the same, only the looks will vary). Here are samples of what I have so far: Albatros D.V camo Albatros D.V lozenge Albatros D.V hack details Albatros D.Va camo Albatros D.Va lozenge Edited normal map underside detail on D.Va For further details of how this project evolved and some more pics you may visit my SimHQ thread: http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3512081/Albatros_D_V_D_Va_Johannisthal.html#Post3512081 Your comments, objections, corrections are always welcome...
  5. I agree with Olham about the use of OFF as a brand name. I like Hellshade's idea, but RoF already uses "The First Great Air War" as subtitle, which is too close I'm afraid...
  6. Exactly, the Idflieg numbering system was not type or factory related...
  7. Only later... Many differences between the two planes, except from the most obvious... (the rudder). Check out the D.III serials as well:
  8. Please don't flame me Olham, but you should switch places between the band and the cross on your new Jasta 15 kite. The cross is placed in the OAW style, also the serial is not valid for a D.III...
  9. Yes please, I too watch the movie constantly but still want some more... We haven't seen a single screenshot since the release of the movie! :clapping:
  10. You may be right, Olham... I wouldn't want to loose what is well established in OFF world in favor of state of the art graphics, but I'm sure the OBD team would have found other ways to surprise as then... And may will be able to in OFF3!
  11. Yes, there are in P3 already!
  12. Hi, redpiano I too myself started my WWI flying with RoF and then moved to OFF. The environment and the immersion OFF produces is the best I've ever experienced! Everything Creaghorn said is very true...Watch again the video to take your answers About the FMs, I agree with you about RoF's sense of flight, and I don't think it's matched in OFF, but it has so many things to offer that you feel sucked into a whole living and moving WWI world, RoF is lacking to represent, despite the state of the art graphics it offers...
  13. I totally agree with Bullethead, he was spot on! That preorder thing in RoF has became kind of frustrating! I'm kind of sceptical with RoF lately, (after the rediculous "personal package")... The new plans dissolved my dreams of ever seeing someday my favorite Albatros D.III and D.V, in RoF! Siggi wants the planes MvR was facing but even his own plane for "Bloody April" is missing! Anyway, where is P4? Isn't it time for a new preview movie?
  14. I think originally, the "two weeks" anecdote started from Oleg Maddox, ten years ago may be, in his correspondence to the IL-2 fans waiting for the upcoming then "IL-2 Forgotten Battles", at the Ubisoft Forums...(Oleg Maddox's Ready Room)...
  15. Speaking of Voss' family... I've found this beautifully colorized one, of Voss' mother and sisters meeting MvR:
  16. Great Olham! I particularly like your own little touch
  17. Thanks a lot, Lou...Great tip!
