DLC029 now available
Wilches replied to usafphantom2's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Stary, if you plan to build a new Spit cockpit please have this in mind - make two versions. One with the early reflector gunsight (for the wartime Spits) and one with the gyro gunsight for the later versions. Ah, an early normal canopy and a bubble one. Man, Wrench is wright - I´m a pain in the a%$&*! -
Raven's P-40

Concerning the CG, is right to say that it changes the plane flight behavior BUT TW, for an unknown reason, mess with the CG somewhere forward (my guess is around 50cm - half a meter) so when you place the CG to 50cm backwards you´re actually correcting the CG to it´s original position. What we must know is the correct value. I´ve tried this on other props and the result was the same - no falling and explosion. -

Guys, with all the tips given above and the following lines the result is very good. Not the final fix but much better indeed. [AircraftData] CGPosition=0.00,-1.10,0.00 CockpitCGOffset=FALSE OnGroundPitchAngle=20.0 [Engine] PropDiameter=1.352 As I stated before, the CG is the main cause of this mess. Have a try and describe your results please. -

The plane and cockpit are simply brilliant. The problem is to make it fly without the horrible bouncing and explosion. The plane itself starts as close as 1.5m from the ground floating like a baloon and then falls like a rock!!!!! What a shame TW... -

Terrific!!! Veltro, could make some adjusts on the canopy frames? They should be more straight and broader. Fine tune work is your hallmark!! Congrats! -
Actually the new patch makes a big mess on the plane´s CG. In some planes the CG goes forward and in others backwards - never the same. I´m making some success by changing the CG (with moving the cockpit position inversally - if the CG goes -0.50 the cockpit must be 0.50), setting new gear bouncing valours and reducing the prop diameter on the props. For example, on the Capun´s F4U-1A Corsair the CG changed from 0.0,0.0,0.0 to 0.0,-0.50,0.0. On the jets the CG went forward mostly and without reducing the nose gear spring valour, it´ll bounce untill explodes. Dammit TW!!!!!

Guys, I placed the F-104G cockpit on the DLC F-104C lates but can´t get the in-flight refueling probe view. If I set "ShowFromCockpit=TRUE" to the nose, all the cockpit stuffs apears. As the .LODs are hidden I have no idea how the correct parts are named. Could anybody help me (us) please? -

Cockpit view angle?
Wilches replied to hrc's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Add this line to the *_Cockpit.ini: OffSet=0.0,-0.12,0.0 The middle values controls your FOV. Is negative for backwards and positive forward. The correct position depends on wich aircraft you choose. It´s a trial and error game. Good luck! -

1 - Use the old P-38 cockpit (not the YAP3) 2 - Add this lines to the *_COCKPIT.INI: [CockpitSeat001] ModelName=P-38Pit ExternalClipDistMin=0.07 OpenCockpit=TRUE Offset=0.0,0.10,-0.01 Position=-0.004,2.30,1.09 ViewAngles=0.0,-0.4,0.0 MaxYaw=135 MinYaw=-135 MaxPitch=90 MinPitchFront=-45 MinPitchRear=-25 Add this too in the proper place: Instrument[038]=Move1 Instrument[039]=Move2 Instrument[040]=Move3 Instrument[041]=Move4 Instrument[042]=Move5 Instrument[043]=Move6 Instrument[044]=Move7 Instrument[045]=Move8 Instrument[046]=Move9 [Move1] Type=AIRSPEED_INDICATOR NodeName=Right_I_Wing MovementType=POSITION_X Set[01].Position=180 Set[01].Value=0.0 Set[02].Position=180 Set[02].Value=1.0 [Move2] Type=AIRSPEED_INDICATOR NodeName=Left_I_Wing MovementType=POSITION_X Set[01].Position=180 Set[01].Value=0.0 Set[02].Position=180 Set[02].Value=1.0 [Move3] Type=AIRSPEED_INDICATOR NodeName=Rear_Armor MovementType=POSITION_X Set[01].Position=180 Set[01].Value=0.0 Set[02].Position=180 Set[02].Value=1.0 [Move4] Type=AIRSPEED_INDICATOR NodeName=Windscreen_Frame MovementType=POSITION_X Set[01].Position=180 Set[01].Value=0.0 Set[02].Position=180 Set[02].Value=1.0 [Move5] Type=AIRSPEED_INDICATOR NodeName=Canopy MovementType=POSITION_Z Set[01].Position=-180 Set[01].Value=0.0 Set[02].Position=-180 Set[02].Value=1.0 [Move6] Type=AIRSPEED_INDICATOR NodeName=Rear_Frame MovementType=POSITION_X Set[01].Position=180 Set[01].Value=0.0 Set[02].Position=180 Set[02].Value=1.0 [Move7] Type=AIRSPEED_INDICATOR NodeName=R_Side_Frame MovementType=POSITION_X Set[01].Position=180 Set[01].Value=0.0 Set[02].Position=180 Set[02].Value=1.0 [Move8] Type=AIRSPEED_INDICATOR NodeName=L_Side_Frame MovementType=POSITION_X Set[01].Position=180 Set[01].Value=0.0 Set[02].Position=180 Set[02].Value=1.0 [Move9] Type=AIRSPEED_INDICATOR NodeName=Canopy_Glass MovementType=POSITION_X Set[01].Position=180 Set[01].Value=0.0 Set[02].Position=180 Set[02].Value=1.0 On the *_DATA.INI: Component[013]=ExtSight Component[014]=ArmouredScreen Component[015]=LeversR Component[016]=FootRest Component[017]=Shade Component[018]=Yoke [Panel] ParentComponentName=Fuselage ModelNodeName=Panel ShowFromCockpit=FALSE [ExtSight] ParentComponentName=Fuselage ModelNodeName=ExtSight ShowFromCockpit=TRUE [ArmouredScreen] ParentComponentName=Fuselage ModelNodeName=ArmouredScreen ShowFromCockpit=TRUE [LeversR] ParentComponentName=Fuselage ModelNodeName=LeversR ShowFromCockpit=FALSE [FootRest] ParentComponentName=Fuselage ModelNodeName=FootRest ShowFromCockpit=TRUE [Yoke] ParentComponentName=Fuselage ModelNodeName=Yoke ShowFromCockpit=TRUE Pay attention! Any news of J-8II? -
Sometimes I feel myself like Wrench said... Sorry I didn´t mean it. For those who played EAW in the past should remember all of my hard work on cockpit making (try on google). It almost cost my 22 years of marriage so I quit all of 3D work forever. I know how is to be full of guys asking for this or that, but I didn´t care at all. Stary, sorry if I put any pressure on you. Your work is really awesome. Wrench, I´ll try to remember your words next time - no more ¨gimmes¨. My next post will more valuable!

WOW !!! As I can see you found the way to make the checkers on nose - terrific ! BTW, your star/bar is wrong. Search on Google the correct shape (hope that your is a decal). We need all of your skins so, RELEASE THEM!!!!! -
I love them very much, but as it´s Beta as you said, one thing must have to be changed - the canopy frames should be straight from bottom (fuselage) till the first horizontal frame. Then it begins to go round, am I clear? In other words, flat sides and round roof. Anyway it´s a great work! Thanks a lot!!!!!!!!!!
