  1. I still have N2003, but I've not played it since EA's NSR came out. I long ago stopped playing that one, too, of course. I've just been using mods for rFactor.
  2. Enterprise's last season had some of the best ST episodes, but no one was watching anymore because of the mistakes made in S1 and S2. I thought S3 went in the right direction, but it went TOO far. The Xindi storyline would've been ideal for a half season at best, not a full one.
  3. I played whatever the PC one was of that. I also played the Ep 1 Starfighter game. Both were "ok" but did nothing to scratch that X Wing itch. All I have right now is the quick flights you get in SWBF2, and that's not much either.
  4. If you have Flaming Cliffs, the 1.12b patch is for Vista. I'm not certain about 1.02/pre-FC LOMAC.
  5. You don't just accept what is as "good enough." You're always looking for that "it can be better" angle!
  6. Don't worry, your English is 100000000x better than my Slovakian.
  7. Ugh, that sucks. A definite major downside to the military life.
  8. Ever had that "something loose in cockpit/something tightened in cockpit" exchange?
  9. You can tell by looking it's not a real plane, although it could be a mockup. The doors and such are all right angles. That thing wouldn't be nearly as stealthy as its lines imply.
  10. Ah, people ignore that stuff all the time. I know a guy who told me he worked on the Aurora program. You know, the one the USAF denied it had to replace the SR-71? It existed. It was just cancelled for costing too much and not offering enough over satellites, U-2s, and the upcoming (at the time) UAVs. I don't know if they ever flew one, but they did test the engines on the back of SR-71s, some under the guise of X-33 engine testing. No, BTW, the guy wasn't making it up either. I know for a fact he worked on the B-2 and other programs out there in the 80s.
  11. Based on in-game behaviors I've observed, I'm guessing all of those values are in either meters or feet. I don't know about those other ones.
  12. Does HOJ ever work? I've NEVER gotten a hit with it once. Maybe it's because by the time you're in range for the missiles the radar burns through anyway, plus all the missiles seem to have less range than the HUD says they do, but I never ever bother with HOJ because it seems like it's just a way to reduce your missile load without going through "jettison" procedures.
  13. Alternatively you can set LimboLowerNow = 1.
  14. I have no time to read anything anywhere, but I'd like to know when the plane I'm thinking of, and I don't even have time to tell you what it is, will be released and could I have the download link emailed to me directly as I don't want to have to check back here ok thx bye.
  15. Deuces...unable to let sleeping dogs lie.
  16. There's an interesting question--would they do that with the F-22 if they got them? IIRC, the F-22's paint itself is special, and Israel wouldn't be able to just use the same paint they use on their other planes without compromising some of the stealth qualities.
  17. Fly with ECM off and then on and you'll see the difference is the range at which they lock you up. SAMs and fighters will lock you up outside of 30nm without ECM, but with it on they generally seem to close to within 20 before firing. Once the missile is fired at you, chaff and evasion are what will save you, not ECM.
  18. I say RCR, but that's because I heard Gibbs doesn't like Bud as a sponsor. So if Jr goes over, Bud is left out in the lurch, and I don't see Jr doing that. Bud has been very good to him and to dump them would be bad for his career. I'd heard RCR might be out because it might merge with DEI, but I think that's a silly rumor. No way DEI and RCR merge. They have 6 teams total now, I can't see them dumping 2 to fit the max limit. So...if Gibbs wasn't concerned Bud didn't fit his Christian values, I'd say Jr would go there. The Jr-Bud thing means he won't, though. Ginn is too small time yet. A new team using Hendrick motors was stated by Jr to be "last resort." Everything points to RCR, possibly even Jr driving the #3 Bud for RCR.
  19. Good to know! Of course, you expect to get what you pay for.
  20. From what I understand, the problem with the missile launch detectors is a high rate of false alarms. They don't miss the real ones almost ever, it's announcing ones that aren't there that's the problem. I remember one "sim" in the 90s gave you an IR missile detector, maybe one of the Jetfighter ones. They said "it doesn't exist now, but this takes place in the future, maybe by then!" That doesn't change the physics of the fact that you can't detect an IR missile lock anymore than you can tell if someone on a rooftop 10 stories up is looking at you with a telescope unless you happen to look their way yourself. It's 100% passive.
  21. Most planes have the oleos contract a bit during retraction. Remember those old F-4 and A-4 nose gears? It was very obvious with them. Few planes leave the gear length constant while stowed. I don't know if you can do that or not. As for what the gear looks like, send someone to Udvar-Hazy at Dulles and get them to take wheel well pics!
  22. Of course, it's obvious the AA-9 wasn't "all that" or they'd have kept using it. There were early pictures of Flankers intercepted carrying an AA-9 or two over the Baltic by Viggens in the 80s, but as soon as the Alamos came out they disappeared. I'm sure it's also of limited use vs fighters and is more an anti-bomber/anti-cruise missile type AAM. Didn't they also make a anti-AWACS variant meant to home in on the AWACS' emissions?
  23. Yes, but in real life you never have 2 A-10s tasked with taking out 15 MBTs protected by a dozen ADA units and such with no support.
  24. Yeah, I'm playing SC:DA on my PC now, and the graphics bugs are majorly annoying.
  25. I know VRS was modeled in EECH, but I don't know where else it is.
