  1. Where's Hank Hill??
  2. I'm thinking Wilma Jeanne had a BIG nose...
  3. Moving or static? The Kfir certainly did. Some other older Mirages were retrofitted with them as well. The Rafale and EAP flew in the 1980s, although the production variants took till now. The B-1 certainly did, although it didn't really use them for lift. The Tu-144 had them for T/O and landing. The XB-70 had them...
  4. Does this mean no afterburners or GAU-8 either???
  5. That's right, the J. Forgot how far into the future it was supposed to be! An SF mod? I guess that would require some new terrain, wouldn't it? Perhaps "Alpha Quadrant"?
  6. I can't wait for the Hansa Brandenburg Concerto.
  7. "Water...water...water..." "Water...water...water..." "Oil...oil...oil..." "Room service...room service...room service..."
  8. NO ONE expects the Spanish Inquisition! Our chief weapons are surprise, fear, ruthless effeciency, and an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope. ARGH! Amongst our weaponry are such diverse elements as: surprise, fear, ruthless effeciency, an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope, these bright red robes.... Ohhhhh!!!
  9. NO ONE expects the Spanish Inquisition! Our chief weapon is surprise, surprise and fear. Our two chief weapons are surprise, and fear, and a ruthless effeciency. Our three...I'll come in again.
  10. I remember 27. I was buying my first house.
  11. They've done it many times before for Bond, so it can be done.
  12. Actually, the Ye-8 looks merely like the same thing the US did with the F-86D or the Chinese did with the A-5/Q-5. You take an existing plane with a nose-mounted intake and put it somewhere else so you can put a large dish radar in the nose. That's just a MiG-21 behind the wing leading edge. The front put the intake underneath the cockpit so a big old dish could go up there. That is what MiG did with the MiG-23 and 25, after all, after years of making jets with nose intakes.
  13. I believe it was actually the new head of the USAF that changed it back. I read a quote where he actually said something like "the /A is a Navy thing," but it's true that the USAF has a long history of operating dual-role planes that are simply F. The F-16 is used far more for ground attack than A2A yet it's not F/A, nor is it the F/A-15E (which it really should be). Let's not even get into how inaccurate the F-111 and F-117 were.
  14. The helos take some practice to get the hang of. As for the 5200, that card is old and too low-powered for what ArmA tries to do. An 8800GTX would probably be overkill, but a GTS should be fine. With that, of course, you'll know it's your CPU that's holding you back.
  15. You know, I don't know if I've ever gone to the BIS forums!
  16. WC the games rocked. WC the film sucked. The actors were FAR too young. Some of the conventions used were way wrong. It was like WWII in space. The ships have to land NOW because they're running out of fuel? You're in space! Just sit there and they'll come get you! What was with the Das Boot "pinging" scene?? In space?!? My list of films is long indeed, but I think Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy needs to be here near the top! So: HHHttG Fifth Element Total Recall Minority Report MIB 1 and 2 Matrix Trilogy All ST and SW, of course All Alien and Predator Terminators AI Forbidden Planet (my favorite old SF film) Day Earth Stood Still (2nd favorite) This Island Earth (great when does as the MST3K movie!!) Starship Troopers Stargate Independence Day Godzilla (the 98 one) Last Starfighter Andromeda Strain Short Circuits Space Balls Pitch Black Chronicles of Riddick Dark Star Dune X Files Movie Jurassic Park films Probably a bunch more
  17. Anyone ever attempt to make that Enterprise F as briefly seen in one episode of ST Enterprise? Actually, you never see an external shot, but they're on it and there's a layout diagram on the wall behind them. It looked sort of like the E but with REALLY thin struts and swept nacelles.
  18. XWA and XvT were both Windows-native. So was the XW Collector's series or whatever it was called.
  19. "Thank you for pressing the self-destruct button..."
  20. Well, my goodness, Scraps is a boy dog, isn't he?
  21. "The statue is named 'Same to You, Buddy!'"
  22. Wow, I was over 9.5lbs when I was born and my mom always talks about how large I was. At 11 I can't imagine!
  23. Brilliant logic--you're going to get me fired, so I'm going to shoot you. I'm sure I'll keep my job then.
  24. My orders came through. My squadron ships out tomorrow. We're bombing the storage depots at Daquiri at 1800 hours. We're coming in from the north, below their radar. When will you be back? I can't tell you that. It's classified. Striker, listen, and you listen close: flying a plane is no different than riding a bicycle, just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes. We have clearance Clarence. Roger, Roger. What's our vector Victor? Tower's radio clearance, over! That's Clarence Oveur! Over. Roger. Huh? Roger, over. Huh? Huh?
  25. Yes, he looked at me and said, "Doc," he said, "Some time, when the crew is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to get out there and give it all they've got. And win just one for the Zipper. I don't know where I'll be then Doc, he said. But I won't smell too good, that's for sure."
