  1. We love it when you kill time! Gotta love them props.
  2. Yes I would agree about limited to no contact for now. They would be extremely vunerable to contaigens that we are capable of carrying and transmitting. History bears this out when considering the first European colonization wave to the Americas. Quote from Wikipedia: "Thus the large-scale contact with Europeans after 1492 introduced novel germs to the indigenous people of the Americas. Epidemics of smallpox (1518, 1521, 1525, 1558, 1589), typhus (1546), influenza (1558), diphtheria (1614) and measles (1618) swept ahead of initial European contact, killing between 10 million and 20 million people, up to 95% of the indigenous population of the Americas. This population loss and the cultural chaos and political collapses it caused greatly facilitated both colonization of the land and the conquest of the native civilizations."
  3. Truly amazing! <S>

    Holy Moly!

    Happy Birthday my friend!
  5. Veltro 'ol chap, you are the one man modding army these days!
  6. Happy Birthday mate
  7. I remember watching this on TV when it first aired back in the Sixties!
  8. You got that right. Damned load of silly nonsense! Probably some giggling nitwit put that together all the while not having the slightest CLUE about the capabilities of modern combat planes - ESPECIALLY the F-22A.
  9. HOLY COW Now this is FANTAN-STIC!! I can't recall the last time a sim had this plane, if any sim did. :fans:
  10. Whoa look at that thing! I tell you that when the topic of most desired new aircraft comes up at CA, you can bet that both the F-101 and F-102 sit pretty much at the top of the pile  What's up JA 37 Viggen 'ol chap?
  11. Well said everyone. Happy Birthday Israel and may God Bless all her people and, most especially, Israel's armed forces <S>
  12. Oh man you silly head, you! Got me as well
  13. Well great to have you back, you ol' buddy ol' pal ol' chap you! :drinks_drunk:
  14. Looking good so far! What real-world geography is this representing?
  15. S!
  16. If I remember it correctly it was during the summer of 1987. My roomate had gotten a brand new Commodore 128 IBM machine and I happen to find this 'sim' called "Spitfire 40". One word describes the experience - APPALLING! Solid blue sky and solid green landscape. It actually had a cockpit, but because of his rigs unbearably slow performance this game was so incredibly choppy that it was nearly impossible to play. The irony was my roomate seeing me struggle with this thing heckled me over it :fuk: It's funny looking back on those early days
  17. You are very much correct about the character of fault system at work in the New Madrid seismic zone, Tailspin. Here in California we have a transverse plate boundary and the New Madrid system was apparently an extremely ancient rift valley, a divergent plate system. It had it's origins at the end of the Proterozoic Eon when the supercontinent Rodinia began to rift apart. Rodinia was just one episode of 7 seperate supercontinent cycles that have occured during Earth history. I used to live in New Mexico and we have a rift valley system there, the Rio Grande Rift. Whereas the Rio Grande Rift is exposed at the surface, the New Madrid system (aka the The Reelfoot Rift) is buried under 750 million years of time and sediment accumulation! This immense system of buried and downward warping fault blocks are probably responsible for this recent quake and definitely caused the great New Madrid events of 1811-1812.
  18. Smart move. That was a seriously STUPID reply anyway Good video JA 37 Viggen. Glad you posted this one mate
  19. The Cutlass is on the verge of being completed by the looks of things. I think that both the F-101 and F-102 are just about the two most missed/requested/anticipated jets for SFP1 at this point.
  20. I tend to agree with most of what you presented. However if you really compare flight sims of today to their distant ancestors of 20 years ago, I'd say they really are a huge improvement visually. This goes for the ground details as well. Ok for me the first 'sim' that I ever encountered was one called "Spitfire 40", and my roommate and I played it on his Commodore 128(?) IBM PC. The cockpit was rendered nicely, but the sky was solid BLUE and the ground solid GREEN. It was so choppy that it was nearly impossible to play. The ammo was even unlimited as well. The German 109s looked like birds and when one got on your tail, you see it in the mirror getting closer and closer (all the while wagging its wings). No matter what you did, you'd die at that point! This was back in 1986 The next one that I did was called "Their Finest Hour" and, compared to Spitfire 40, this game was a quantum leap forward! You could take off, land, do a campaign, do single missions and create your own missions. And the game ran very nicely on my girlfriends IBM Cordata PC. Good grief I remember playing that one for HOURS. I would play it until I simply couldn't sit in the chair any longer because of aches and pains, LOL! Now when I look at Strike Fighters Project One compared to these ancient fossils, there is NO comparison really. They can't be compared - period. I have tried out some old flight games from time to time just for the nostalgia, but very quickly get tired of them and delete them. The reason is simple in that flight sims of today look better  Cheers, Craigster
  21. Very good! Another add-on for the WW2 'prop-heads' here.
  22. Well watchya been up to, bruddah? Good to see you around here again  Nothing much here, except hanging around CA all day long and making silly posts!
  23. I remember many years back my grandparents brought me a gift from Southern England, and it was this bright green die-cast metal clockwork powered submarine. This little gem actually WORKED. It would dive and then resurface again a few yards away. It was amazing! I think the company that manufactured it was called SUTCLIFFE (?) Ok now If I get my way as an ADULT, I'll be picking this up within a few days: The Kyosho P-51D RC RTF electric flyer, 1/14th scale. This will be the best toy so far.
