View File SF2 Curtiss BF2C-1 Goshawk / Hawk III by MontyCZ SF2 Curtiss BF2C-1 Goshawk / Hawk III by MontyCZ 8/20/2026 -For SF2 =ONLY= (Full/5 Merged Recommended) What we have here is a fairly major revamp of MontyCZ's Curtis BF2C-1 Goshawk as used by the US Navy in 1933, and the Hawk III export model used by the Nationalist Chinese Air Force in the late 1930s. Originally released in 2004 for 1st Gens, nothing has been done to this bird since a small mod by me in 2008, also for SF1. Historical comments are in the usual place, the "Notes" section below. Included in the package are skin and decal sets for the following units: US Navy: VB-5B (USS Ranger 1933) NS Blue/ NS Gray (<1941) (a fictional skin) ROCAF (aka Nationalist China): Hawk III, 5th Pursuit Group <1937 The skins remain in their bmp format, and decal randomization is TRUE. The VB-5 skin has been partly repainted, and all marking are decals. Plane-in-squadron flight color bands and BuNum are 100% historically correct. The only incorrect thing is due to "something wrong" with the cowl ring mesh, the proper decal placement of nose color bands is impossible. When the SB2U Vindicators are released (2 weeks!) you'll see how they really worked. The NS Blue/Gray skin re-uses the same decals as the VB-5. Historically, ALL of the Navy's Goshawks had been scrapped by 1935. This is a 'what if' skin. The ROCAF's skin serial numbers are correct for this aircraft in the time frame of its usage. The USN version has been tested on all our WW2 aircraft carriers, included the YAP RS versions (now in dry dock being revamped for SF2). It does have a small problem catching the wire, but otherwise is "passable". A user list was created for all those that had these on inventory at some time or another. Everything is included: WW2 bombs, drop tank, pilot figure and so forth. You'll also be adding a 'new' engine sound, so have your SoundList ini extracted, or be ready to extract it and add the new sound's data. Full instructions are in below, in the "To Install" section. On the Aircraft Selection Drop Down Screen you'll see: BF2C-1 Goshawk (the RoCAF skin will show this name as well, even though Curtiss called it "Hawk III") As is always recommended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. ==PLEASE== read them, before installing!!! There's all sorts of important information there to make sure installation goes as smooth as possible!!!!!!! Please read the Notes section for any other useless bits of information, the change log and so forth. MontyCZ's original read me text in included, in the main aircraft folder for archival purposes. Please also take note of changes in the Standard Disclaimer in the "Legal BS" section at the bottom. Happy Landings! Wrench Kevin Stein Updated: Package now has cowl color band fix by Wilches. For those that only need the fix go to this URL: https://combatace.com/files/file/18775-bf2c-goshawk-usn-decal-fix-for-cowl-ring-colors/ For those downloading for the first time, you needn't worry. 3. the F-14A-avionics ini is only part of SF2 North Atlantic. You MUST have NA as part of your merged install.
  4. get the cockpit by Dels, disrember the exact url, but search in SF2/add on cockpits.
  5. WE should also upload them HERE for safe(r) keeping! Send me a copy, or whatever, and I'll get it uploaded and save
  6. Oh, RATS!!!!!!!
  7. Porco Roso!! That was a VERY well done anime!!
  8. Indeed. Just LOOKING in the 'Cold War Aircraft' section of the downloads would have turned it up right away!
  9. I can't even begin to imagine what the Wave Motion Gun would look like in SF2 ... --required screenshot--
  10. yes, all the guns are working!! I've already tested against incoming Nells! I was QUITE surprised, too. Then again, I did add the NA statements and such.
  11. definately! I've already made a post over there, asking if they had any templates for some of the Navy birds (they's in the wrong colors)
  12. Could you please send me a PM? I need to request permission for a probable release of one the Rising Sun carriers, "modified" for USN stand in use, and to discuss further 'works in progress' for stand-alone releases for General Use. thank you in advance! Wrench
  13. why not just rebuild my (modern-ish) Espana map for SCW? Granted, we're missing a shitload of aircraft, and removing all the modern "stuff" (ships, airfields, all the neat eye candy) is job of work. There'as always the alternative of finds stand ins and be labeled as such. I'd also suggest having a look in the First Eagles 1930s section ... you'd be surprised what's hiding in plane sight BTW, a rebuild of the Rata is coming, too.
  14. If you squint at this REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY hard, it just might pass for USS Ranger (CV-4). Oddly, VS-41 Vindicators are on deck!! (Rising Sun Shokaku reskinned. guns converted to 'merican) (also because, it's not like we're ever going to get a real one)
  15. they were, and the RAF had to replace the radios, instruments, and throttle controls, as the AdA versions worked backwards from everyone's else (throttle up , pull back. throttle down, push forward. seriously???)
  16. If you'd ever met my family, you'd know it ain't them!!!! EXPECIALLY my sister!!!!
  17. Since you've all gathered by now that I've a boat load of A20/Bostons in the works, the next ones will most likely be the DB-7s used by the AdA and RAF, both the A and B. Yes, there will be a Vichy skin. The question is -- did the DB-7As use metric calibrated instruments? I know that when the 7Bs arrived in the UK, they needed a bunch of work converting them to RAF standard. So, were 'the usual suspects' calibrated in KMPH, Meters, MPS, kg or liters (for fuel) and kpa for pressure?? it's a pretty simple matter to reset the insturments to metric, as it's a text edit thanks!
  18. you don't need to add the plus sign, only the minus sign. for some reason, it just 'knows' it's forward even without the plus
  19. this being a family site, I can't really say that they're c*nts.
  20. looks like one of my paint jobs ...
  21. easiest way to bring them all back, is RENAME the existing mod folder, then run the exe again. That'll rebuild it. Then, and ONLY Then, start re-adding your mods. And just to be sure DO NOT RENAME THE EXISTING 3RD WIRE AIRCRAFT !!! You want to make a "special version", clone the original and rename that one. That way, hopefully, you screw up the existing one(s). And honestly, there ain't nothing wrong with the stock ones. The instructions I wrote in the linked post was simply because a shitload of MiGs were arriving, and we needed some way for DUEs to deconflict the stock ones. And just to be clear, what EXACTLY were you attempting to do???. Describe in detail, please. The only modded Hogs I know of, are add-ons, not 3W.
  22. well, I least I know the new damage tgas work!! (that it never had before!)
  23. can't stop laughing !!! good luck there, pal. don't forget your checkbook

View File SF2 Boston III (CA) ETO-MTO Package (Beta Plus) SF2 Boston III (CA) ETO-MTO Package (Beta Plus) 8/15/2026 -For SF2 =ONLY= (Full/5 Merged Recommended) Coyote Aerospace and Angelp are proud to release a NEW World War 2 aircraft! This package contains the Douglas Boston III as used by the RAF (and Commonwealth units) and the USAAF from 1942 and on, in both Northern Europe and North Africa (Desert Air Force & 12th USAF). I'm releasing this combined skin pack, from their varying theatres, so you End Users (tm) will HAVE to pick and choose and do the moving yourselves to place them in the correct Theatre of Operations (ETO and MTO). There are NO skin sets herein used in the Pacific. The package includes the following skins: =RAF Western Europe: No. 88 Squadron "Hong Kong" (10/41) No.107 Squadron (<1/1942-2/1944) both in standard Temperate Day Scheme No.342 "Lorraine"(GB 1/20 (7/43-4/45) standard Olive Drab/Neutral Gray RAF Late 2-Tone (<1943) Temperate Sea Scheme* =RAF North Africa/Western Desert: No.24 Squadron SAAF (MTO 41-45) (desert camo - dark earth/light earth/azure blue =USAAF Western Europe/North Africa: 15th BS (ETO-MTO)(<7/42) OD/NG, w/Medium Green disruptive The actual dates are noted as shown above. The SF2 Date Switch (tm) is active, and the skins will switch according to the dates shown above. The GB 1/20 skin has that 7/43 start date; before that they were using DB-7A/Bs (which are still to come) in France, then Blenheims in Eqypt. Always check the included User list ini for exact dates. There are also usually historical notes on each of the texture set inis. All skin maps are in JPG format. All markings are decals, and decal randomization is TRUE. As these are 'new' rebuilds, these aircraft replace IN TOTAL those no longer readily available from 'the other place', all decals from those mods of mine have been reused and refreshed for SF2 usage. As such, where available, the original read me for each is included with the relevant skin folders along with a screenshot of the original bird. Serial numbers are historically correct for all skins; however, they are to be considered 'generic', not representing specific aircraft in each squadron; both RAF skins use the same general pool of serials . OTH, the ETO tail 'Battle Numbers' ARE correct for the AAF MTO squadron; there are 25 for each. The pilot's entrance hatch opens with the Standard Animation Keystroke (tm), Shift/0 (zero). . My original 'Box Art' Hangar Screen has been revamped for SF2 usage; it's in a kind of 'wide-ish-screen'. Everything is included: WW2 bombs, pilot figures and so forth. You'll also be adding a 'new' sound, so have your SoundList ini extracted, or be ready to extract it and add the new sound's data. Full instructions are in below, in the "To Install" section. It should be noted, this same engine sound will be used on ALL versions of the Boston/Havoc that are still in the hangar. On the Aircraft Selection Drop Down Screen you'll see: Boston III (CA) The 'CA' of course, is for Coyote Aerospace. As is always recommended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. PLEASE read them, before installing!!!
