I need some help please
Wrench replied to DEVIL11's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
There's NO excuse at ALL for not uploading a complete mod. You mean to tell me you couldn't take 5 minutes to write those texture set and decal inis?? Oh yes, indeed. we need more like that, like I need another kidney stone. Don't EVER forget who you talking to, buddy boy. Before I retired, I worked nearly 70 hours a week; and I STILL managed to put out skins, decals, and COMPLETE terrain mods. I'm done here... will not cast more pearls -
What about hex editing the LODs to change to jpg? It's a simple 'find and replace' function. Done it many times. The issue as described (F-100F), however, points me to a defect in compiling the LOD. Since TK went to jpg textures on SF2, the game engine (tm) don't care which of the 2 formats are used. Hell, even that little flirtation we had with DDS worked because the damage textures are in that format.

see this line right here, in particular the 2 letters "MF" That stands for "Mirage Factory". So, by inference, that means these skins are ONLY for the The Mirage Factory's F-5E. It don't come with texture set inis because the original uploader was lazy and thoughtless As to decals, I'll be real money they use all stock 3W item. A quick look at the decals ini would confirm this, simply by the "phrasing" of the pathways -
wazalo -- for crying out loud, will you PLEASE use standard formatting??

Great Idea!! That never occurred to me! I never had any issues, but I've got a pretty good machine. I'll get the Cobra to you in the next couple of days. Making sure the PMs are working!! I forgot to mention the CH-47 by Sucidial. The only thing about that one, is it has some cargo boxes sitting around

Yup, no issues on Winge 11.

View File SF2 Su-30MKA "Flanker-H" Algerian Air Force Skin Pack SF2 Su-30MKA "Flanker-H" Algerian Air Force Skin Pack 9/21/2025 -For SF2 =ONLY= (Any & All, Full 4/5 Merged Recommended) This is a mod of the Su-30MKI by Spudknocker, now converted (rebuilt?) into the Su-30MKA "Flanker-H" as used by Algeria. This is the complete aircraft, minus sounds and weapons. With luck, you'll already have those needed items. If not, since there seems to be no consensus, you'll have to locate them on your own. All markings are decals, and decal randomization is TRUE. The Serial numbers are historically correct for this aircraft. You'll have 44 of them, which (iirc) is the total in service as of 9/2025. When on the Loadout Page, you'll see: 121ème Escadron de Defense Aerienne As this is a full aircraft mod, there no need for a 'start date' on the skin. The QJJ received their first Flankers in 2007. I've also included a new pilot figure, "Red3211". The canopy is also activated, it uses the Standard Animation Keystroke (tm), Shift/0 (zero). The canards are held on by the 'fake pilot' method, and there is NO thrust vectoring!!. Included is a skin-specific Hangar Screen. As is always recommended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. PLEASE read them, before installing!!! Please also take note of changes in the Standard Disclaimer in the "Legal BS" section at the bottom. Happy Landings! Wrench Kevin Stein Have a Happy Sukhoi Sunday!!! WIP Mega THREAD!
Wrench replied to ErikGen's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Doncha just love it when ... You need one simple skin for a simple aircraft. Then you discover that said simple aircraft has NOT been converted/updated for SF2. EVER. And that many of the skins in the Original Release Package (tm), aren't even FOR that model of said aircraft. To say nothing of all the other bits and pieces that'll need SF2izing. Well, there goes what I had planned this weekend (not to worry -- the Algerian Su-30s should be out on Sunday, to celebrate Sukhoi Sunday. of course -
