Ya learn something every day!! I did NOT know this was a stock skin (for all the F-4B & J models!! DLC #18 has it)
-
don't forget the RAF used them for beer, too!!! (or was it the Americans???)
-
Well well!!! this is a nice surprise!!! Nicely done!!!

Ok, then think about this. I was giving you AN answer, without giving you THE answer. The information you seek is provided within that mod. If not, I can think of 3 others, all stock aircraft, that have the needed avionics data in their inis. I'm not being vague on purpose; this is how we all learned modding. For the most part, the answers are never handed outright. (thinking of the 1st time I had to rebuild a differential ... was shown how to reassemble it, then the guy took it all apart, handed me the pieces and 'your turn')

why not just download the F-111B, navy version that's already set up for A-A??
-
To check it, when it starts to growl, then stops, PAUSE the game. Then UNpause the game. See if the sound comes back. This has been an issue with SF2 ever since SF2NA came out. Something, somewhere, just shuts off sometimes. This happens with ALL sound effects. There is NO fix, other than the Pause/UnPause

Most Interesting!!!

You might be able to convert the SF "EAW WW2 Europe" terrain; a lot of editing to the targets would be needed to remove ww2 stuff. But it IS doable (oh, and added new tiles for the Front Lines might necessary, too) Gertl: Nice screenies!!

If I may be so bold to suggest, adding the drop tank capability, for WW2 perverts like me, that might want to backdate their usage for operations in the various WW2 theatres. For RHAF usage, it's easily left out of the loadout ini, thereby removing it from view. If built in, that is. Otherwise, I'd like to suggest just having the pylon available to use the existing Spit drop tanks. For the Trops, Volks only or both Volks and Abukir filters? Can't quite tell from the pictures thanks!

Guided Rockets - MK4 Mighty Mouse test for APKWS
Wrench replied to TheStig's topic in Mods & Skinning Discussion
Didn't I fix that years ago???? Did the same thing for the Scorpion and Delta Dart's rockets -
As some of you may have noticed, we've been trying to (finally!) rebuild the image base for the downloads since the glitch some years ago. What we've been doing, when the download file has no image, is use the "blank" seen below. What I'm asking is, if any of you HAVE an image, or are the original uploader that has an image, if you all could "do the edit" and (re)add a new one. While this blank is nice, its' not proper advertising, if you follow my drift. If you can't upload a new image, or don't know how to edit the file, drop me a line and/or send the image; jpg preferred, via PM and I'll do my best to get it installed. There's SO much good stuff here, the "market" needs to see the product so they can obtain it!! Thanks for you help! Wrench Kevin Stein

View File SF2 CF-104(72) Desert Camo "What If..." Skin Pack SF2 CF-104(72) Desert Camo "What If..." Skin Pack 3/13/2026 -For SF2 =ONLY= (Full 4/5 Merged Recommended) *The CF-104_72 Starfighter is REQUIRED for this mod This is for the 3rd Wire Starfighter ONLY* During the reorganization of the downloads section here at CA, I came across this little cutie in the SF1/Wo* skins collection. You'll probably recall the post in the SF2 "What If ..." screenshots thread. Well, here's the completed mod, slightly updated for SF2. This represents a very nicely done 2 tone desert camouflage for the stock F-104G 'Starfighter', as the Canadair versions don't exist in 1stGen games. I chose to use it on the CF-104 (72), but it's easily adapted for use on any other stock F-104 in game. The only exceptions would be the F-104C (61) and (66); their refueling probe mapping WILL need repainting to match. Instructions on swapping to other Zippers in the "Notes" section below. Even though 'partly new' (ie repainted to remove painted on markings), the skins remain in bmp format at 1024x1024. All marking are now decals; decal randomization is TRUE. As far as I can tell, the supplied serial numbers are historically correct for RCAF/CAF/CF Starfighters. All original decals have been slightly repainted to remove any 'ghosting' on the edges. The aircraft has been "assigned" to No. 421 "Red Indians" squadron. A new hangar screen is included. While I've given you nothing to make it flyable, I HAVE included a modified data ini with some adjustments towards aircraft 'hardening', and a modified cockpit ini. The cockpit ini only as the 'start time' for the cabin lights turning on adjusted to be earlier. If you use the 'Read Only" trick for you CF-104s, you'll have to turn that off, before playing the game otherwise the skin won't load itself. Of course, turn it back on afterwards, otherwise the Game Engine will re-write the main ini, and revert the aircraft back to AI only. As is always recommended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. PLEASE read them, before installing!!! Please read the Notes section for other useless information, and full credits. I've also included Littlesmoke's original release read me in included within the skin folder. Please also take note of changes in the Standard Disclaimer in the "Legal BS" section at the bottom. Good Hunting & Happy Landings! Missing Center Station Pylons on F-105 and F-4's
Wrench replied to CSomers611's topic in General Discussion
even quicker way -- just rename the data ini to like "x_data.ini", start the game and see what's what. If it returns, the data ini IN the aircraft folder is outdated and needs replacing or just left out of the folder -
The A-26 Invader has something like that too. Can't remember the exact "switch", but it drops you into the nose with the Norden bombsight. IIRC, Kesselbrut's Canberra pits do the same thing (the RAF ones, not the American ones)

...something wicked this way comes (now, if I can just figure out how to mount the dual JL100s ... be a good SEAD/CAS machine (albeit short ranged)

The SFP1 Dev A-Team is still active? Their website still works?
Wrench replied to MAF1247's topic in General Discussion
shit on a stick mind you, there was marked improvement, but still with issues -
almost missed out on this week's "Humpday Heavies" !!! "When flying with us, we do our best to make your trip as enjoyable as possible. If you're feeling a bit anxious, for an additional 200 Rubles, you can climb up into the tail gunner's position, and fire off a few dozen rounds to calm yourself down, or live the fantasy of being a gunner in The Great Patriotic War. Additional time and ammunition can be purchased from the Flight Attendant. Enjoy you flight!"
