  1. What graphics adapter are you using? Nvidia? AMD (Radeon)? Intel? We need to know in order to help you resolve this.
  2. Yes Dave, the early 1980s videos are really what put MTV on the map. By the late 80s they were starting to get away from the original formula to the point that they had to create VH1 in order to generate revenue from their original core audience. While there are tons of videos from '81 through '85 that I like, I have to say that these two from ZZ Top's Eliminator LP (1983) are my favorites.
  3. Even "Flying Misfits" (the series pilot for "Baa Baa Black Sheep"), beats half the movies mentioned in that article.
  4. As I was a member of the Mirage Factory at the time, I saw the WIP images of Paladrain's F-14B cockpit, and I can assure you that it was at least as good as his MiG-29A 'pit, if not better. It's a pity that he became burnt-out on the whole modding business before he could complete it.
  5. I can't speak for the Su-35, but I can tell you with some authority that the Su-33 will be ready when its ready.
  6. Talk about beating a dead horse. By pushing this agenda, all you are doing is hardening TK's resolve against releasing anything, or even agreeing to sell you the code. And even if by some miracle you've managed to convince him (to sell or release the source code), you would quickly discover that you'd bought a dog with fleas.......which is, I suspect, the real reason behind his reticence. Now, if you're truly on the level regarding this, you would have asked your programmer friend exactly what is required to create a modern opened-sourced combat flight simulator, and what it would take to assemble a team to start working on it. My bet is that you would soon find yourself realizing that you'd be much better off financially by going with DCS-World, or even something along the lines of FSX with the VRS TACPACK and Superbug addons.
  7. If Dave deleted them, trust me, it had little to do with it being a family site. The more likely scenario is that he deleted them because he kept getting shot down by them, as he was undoubtedly flying low enough to hear their battle cry. As you well know, it's hard to maintain control when one is too busy laughing Or maybe, it was simply because Dave had problems channeling his inner "Roach" when confronting them.
  8. Kevin, what ever happened to the Vietcong with the "R"-rated dialogue?
  9. Only models that had an ammo counter in real life, will have one in this series. If the aircraft that you're flying doesn't sport one in-game, chances are that type was not equipped with an ammo counter in real life. As to your second question, the answer a tentative "yes", tentative in that to achieve what you're asking, it will still require you to edit out those bits that do not belong to that particular title, and may require setting certain folders to "read only", to prevent the game engine from adding aircraft and objects that do not belong in that theater (which it seems to do on its own, with no prompting on the user's part!).
  10. And a happy new year to you and yours, Nesher.

    Hey Jarhead1

Dude, Your generosity has gone a long way towards restoring my faith in humanity.
  12. It does not matter what it's called, it will always be non-functional, unless the developer of the series codes that event in.
  13. There is no working sound event coded for "low altitude" in this series, and associating a WAV file to a non-functional event will result in..............................................................................................................................................................a nonfunctional sound!
  14. Really? I found it within a few minutes. It resides in ObjectData008 cat file.
  15. The glove vanes were disabled on all F-14s sometime during the 1980s, as they proved somewhat problematic from a maintenance perspective. Also, from what I've been told by a RL Tomcat driver, the stated improvement in stability and Mach-speed G-load with the glove vanes operational really wasn't all it was cracked up to be when one was carrying a typical loadout.
  16. Try this title http://combatace.com/topic/83411-wings-of-prey/ How can you go wrong for less than $10? I've gotten Wrench and Dave into it, and they think it's great.
  17. The new, Maxwell-derived GeForce cards are out (at least, the first few are now in the grubby hands of the press), and they have already been benchmarked: http://videocardz.com/52166/nvidia-geforce-gtx-980-gtx-970-gtx-980m-gtx-970m-3dmark-performance The amazing thing, isn't just the expected increase in performance (notice how the GTX 970 surpasses the GTX 780's score), but the fact that the 980 is able to perform 10-15% better, with a 40% lower TDP! What that means, in layman's terms, is that the 780 draws 250+ watts at max draw, while the 980 never exceeds 150 watts.

    R.I.P, Jaws

Richard Kiel, who played the role of "Jaws" in two Bond films, passed away this Wednesday at the age of 74. http://www.nbcnews.com/pop-culture/movies/richard-kiel-actor-who-played-james-bond-villain-jaws-dies-n200621
  19. Ah, not really all of them. Many (if not most) of the third-party SF2 models are exported as Unicode lod files, making them completely unusable in all but one SF1-series title, and that would be the SFP1 Israel expansion pack.
  20. TK needs to port his new title "Star Vector" to PC, ASAP! We already have a Constitution-class starship and a Klingon D-7-class battle cruiser is on the way. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thirdwire.star_vector
  21. Fantastic shots!
  22. Lexx, The most common desktop resolution world-wide is 1680 x 1050, followed by 1920 x 1080 (1080 P).
