From my Israeli Air force bible 'Air War on the Edge' by Bill Norton... - The Israelis ordered 6 Hawkeyes in 1976 (Bu 160771 - 774) which were delivered starting in July 1978. - Serials were 941, 942, 944 & 946 and were assigned to 192 Squadron 'Hawkeye' based at Hatzerim. - The Israeli name was 'Daya' (Kite) but was commonly called 'Ayn Ha'Netz' (Hawkeye) - The aircraft left service in 1994. - The USN two tone grey paint (FS36320 & 36375) was retained as were American stencils. - Code numbers were carried on both sides of the nose and the forward nose gear door, although prior to 1982 the codes were not used at all. - The national stars were the 60cm diameter size used for fighters and were carried on both sides of the aft fuselage and on the upper left wing and lower right wing. - The 192 Squadron badge was displayed on both sides of the forward fuselage, just behind and below the cockpit glass. Hope that helps.

Marine Phantom books
allenjb42 replied to daddyairplanes's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Trotti also did "Marine Air - First To Fight" with photos by George Hall in 1986. I pulled my old copy off the shelf and there aren't as many photos as I remember but what there is are great. The book looks at all the then current USMC aircraft in turn including the F-4 and RF-4 and gives little mission scenarios that wouldn't look out of place in a Strike Fighters install. You could also try Googling George Hall to see of he has a website or online gallery. -
SF2 Israel
allenjb42 replied to Spiff's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
If Egypt went Islamic as a result of the Arab Spring going awry you could also use the Mirage 2000, F-16, MiG 21 (with orange panels) aircraft/skins available in the downloads section for red force. -
Re-installed this over the weekend and am having a blast! I forgot just how good this essential mod is - thanks Eric. Are there any plans to update this to take advantage of the SF2:NA features like single mission carrier ops and stock E-2C and EA-6B? Maybe include Homefries' A-6A & B and EA-6B mods?

Desert Storm Part 1 For SF2
allenjb42 replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
@Toro: One way around this might be for all your carrier based aircraft to have a skin for the same airwing as textureset001 in your aircraft's .ini file so that when the game generates the parked planes on the carrier they should use that skin. -
Connery - Goldfinger (my favorite Bond in my favourite Bond movie. Ever) Lazenby - OHMSS (Agreed that it's very underrated. Just finished the book to which the movie sticks surprisingly closely. Also has the best ending of all the Bond movies. With the possible exception of Moonraker: Sir Frederick Gray, Minister of Defence: My God, what's Bond doing? Q: I think he's attempting re-entry, sir.) Roger Moore - Live and Let Die (although I do like the ski chase at the beginning of The Spy Who Loved Me) Pierce Brosnan - The World Is Not enough Daniel Craig - Casino Royale I've also got a soft spot for the David Niven/Woody Allen/Peter Sellers etc Casino Royale - a classic comedy way before Austin Powers was a twinkle in Mike Myers' eye. And if someone would re-do Never Say Never Again with a John Barry or David Arnold soundtrack and Shirley Bassey singing the title song I would be really grateful!

1) I'm not an expert but I think my system is older than yours with less RAM and I've got no real problems with speed. 2) Like all of the SF2 games you can add what you want - Want to fly a CAP off the coast of Libya in an F-14 or F/A-18 or a Strike on a nuclear site in Korea in a F/A-18E, F-35, B-1 or F-22? Maybe you want to fly an F-14 TARPs recon over Syria in the 1980's and follow it up with an Alpha Strike with A-7s or A-6s from the carrier or just fancy a quick single mission over Vietnam flying an F-8 from a carrier? If you've installed the mods you can fly the mission. 3) SF2:NA is part of the SF2 series so the 2nd Gen mods work fine. Remember, if you've read the linked threads above yet, you'll see that you're creating your NA install from a reguar SF2 install anyway.

deltalima you can run SF2:NA in windows XP. I'm doing it and so are many others. Then you can fly carrier based game generated single missions without having to set them up in the mission editor. The thread linked below (and the thread linked in that thread) shows you how: http://community.combatsim.com/topic/28697-sf2-north-atlantic-and-windows-xpdx9-it-can-be-done/ Once you've done that you should download this mod which will give you the naval maps for the stock terrains as well as some of the most popular add on terrains too.: http://combatace.com/files/file/12804-water-maps-102zip/ Hope that helps.

I just set up a new install - WestPac, including Korea, Taiwan, Kamchatka, Darwin, and maybe some of the WW2 Pacific terrains, for lots of action with USN planes that have Nx on their tails! Anyway, like a newb I went mod crazy and packed in loads of stuff without testing and now when I get into the cockpit I've got all the debug info onscreen. What file do I need to modify so this doesn't happen in future or an I missing something in the Options screen? Thanks.

More DLC: Mirage IIIEL
allenjb42 replied to Viggen's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I have to disagree. I wouldn't expect TK to give away a USAF F-16 as a DLC, even if it's a Netz with a grey skin and some ini edits. Maybe he's saving it for a future exp pack. How about a 1980's Korea scenario with WP tail codes? Of course this will be after he releases a "classic" 1950's Korea game, right about two weeks after Wrench and the team release the KAW MiG Alley mod! -

SF2:NA - Convair's AllStars Edition -
Stratos, I just added the SF2 Afghanistan terrain to an SF2 install, went into the Afghanistan_NATIONS.ini file and added FriendlyNation037=SOVIET Now I can quite happily fly MiGs, Sukhois etc over the terrain. BTW. I've got an SF1 Wings Over Afghanistan install with loads of Soviet & NATO planes, ground objects etc. I edited each of the aircraft's DATA.ini files so that the soviet ones ended in 1989 and the NATO ones started in 2001. That way I don't get F-15's flying CAP for an Mi-24 strike and Su-25s flying defence suppression missions when I fly an F-14D strike! I kept some of the Soviet heavies - An-12 & Il-76 etc - to represent modern UN or aid relief flights. When I get time I'll do a dedicated SF2 install and drop the 1st Gen.
