  1. To misquote Oscar Wilde: To lose these prisoners once may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose them twice looks like carelessness.
  2. It's exactly the same procedure in WOV & SFG as in WOE. If you're trying to add pilots to the stock aircraft you need to extract the the aircraft's data.ini files first.
  3. Its in here: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=4363
  4. Just noticed, and sorry to go OT, but the primary target in the screenies is a MiG-23UB. I didn't know there was a 2-seater Flogger available.
  5. I've always wanted to get a Saab ever since John Gardner gave James Bond a Saab 900 Turbo in his books. Maybe I can pick up a cheap one now, or a Viggen or Gripen....
  6. You need to edit the data.ini of the aircraft you want to modify. The instructions are probably in the KB, but here's a link to the relevant page on Wrench's site. http://wrench1smog.com/wrench14.html
  7. I think I'm going to have to update my Israeli Airforce thread. Looking forward to all of these mods soon guys.
  8. Looks like Operation Reciprocity might be a go. A couple of questions: For the canal locks, could the jetties from EAWEurope act as stand ins? I don't suppose the map stretches up to Belize does it? I've quite fancied trying a British/Guatamalan fight like in this novel: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0.../authordatabase
  9. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7892294.stm Sounds like both crew are OK, and there were no problems with the weapons or reactors which is good news. Presumably the heavy seas prevented them from hearing each other? Or maybe they were too busy trying to avoid Carl Stromberg's big submarine catching oil tanker!
  10. Looks like it's on the way... http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?s=&am...st&p=238589
  11. Funny you should say that. I remember reading somewhere that Top Gun was actually conceived as a sequel to An Officer and a Gentleman. I think Jerry Brukheimer (sp?) worked on that movie and had read an article on Top Gun and put 2 and 2 together. Here's another quote: Jester: That was some of the best flying I've seen to date - right up to the part where you got killed.
  12. Viper: Good morning, gentlemen, the temperature is 110 degrees. Wolfman: Holy s**t, it's Viper! Goose: Viper's up here, great... oh s**t... Maverick: Great, he's probably saying, "Holy s**t, it's Maverick and Goose." Goose: Yeah, I'm sure he's saying that.
  13. Happy birthday big guy! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/7880808.stm Looking forward to this one Ed.
  14. I like it! Hope it's included as a complete pilot in part 2 of the pack. How about posting it at SimHQ? Maybe it will inspire Cat to do another Sacha story in WOx? Especially as we've got a Black Sea terrain for her to fly over.
  15. I love it when a plan comes together....(always wanted to say that! ) Oh, we might need some financing. Do you think Mk2 would be gracious enough to assist, or are we going to have to rob multiple Vegas casinos on the same night?
  16. Well we can always re-introduce the traditional rum ration! As for picking planes, if the size of the deck is a problem I guess I'd go for an A-4, maybe one of those fancy A-4R Fightinghawks.
  17. Great stuff. Wonder if TK will do this for Strike Fighters Europe or whatever the Vista version of WOE is going to be called?
  18. CL, would you be in if we could get you this to fly? http://courtesyaircraft.com/F-AZDQ%20Skyraider%20Spec.htm
  19. Then you'll just have to learn to land with the wings swept back
  20. The French carrier Clemenceau is on it's way to dry dock in Teeside to be broken up: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7872650.stm What if a crack team of current and former military operators and assorted hangers-on, drawn together by their love of simming, beer and eels (not necessarily in that order) intercepted the ship en route and set course for the mid Atlantic? A second team would walk into the Boneyard and secure a number of naval aircraft - Hornets, Tomcats and some Vikings which have just recently become available - which they would fly to rendevous with the carrier (with tanker support provided by our very own Storm). A third team would make a stop-off in the UK to pick up some passengers for the ride and a spot of keelhauling under the watchful eye of our very own Racindriver1. Then a leisurely cruise southwards and around Africa (I don't think we could sneak into the Med and through Suez) during which some real MP dogfights will prove once and for all that the Tomcat is better than the Hornet, and Mannie can practice flying through the hangar deck for real! Next stop, the Gulf of Aden to sort out those pesky Somali pirates. After which we can head for the Persian Gulf and an appointment with some nuclear facilities that need dismantling with extreme prejudice. After that we can travel the world righting wrongs with a girl/boy in every port and not a snowflake to be seen, unless someone wants to try the DBS campaign for real! Who's with me?
  21. Lol, they don't call Manchester the Rainy City for nothing! More seriously, with the increased global warming, apparently this will lead to more snow in the UK in the near future so the government had better start planning for that now. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/topics/weather/...scientists.html
  22. Well someone could always mod this to the Micropose version of the F-117, which was like their F-19, with an internal gun and 4 weapons bays that could carry just about anything in the USAF arsenal.
  23. Lol, 'Scooby Doo, Where Aaarrre You?' We'll need some of the hippy version parked outside RAF Greenham Common in the next rebuild of the cold war EAWEuro terrain.
