No actually - Most films ive seen have surprised me with plot lines and twists - although I certainly dont care to analyse story lines of films I just turn up to be entertained. So when I blatently notice it and it spoils my enjoyment of the film thats when its **** - and has me hoping the planet gets nuked at the end and the bad guys win - which pi**ed me off even more as the tree hugging smurfs won out

Nah although there are those kinds of people I have to agree with Flashy on this one - I also felt it was the 3D that made the film stand out. For us older folks weve kinda seen it all before - and although I'm no movie buff I could predict the whole story in the first 5 mins, you had pretty much all the same characters youve had in so many other similar type films - so effects were amazing, the film was good overall - but in 2D it wouldnt be half as good.

The future for gaming perhaps?
MigBuster replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Not exactly a new concept by any means - just lacking the infrastructure over this way to do it - but maybe in the future I can subscibe to online gam...actully no I wont ****ing be doing that at all!. At the moment id much rather pay my one off fee, download it for 10 mins (not hours), and play it safe in the knowledge that everyone else on my shared link wont decide to log on at that time making it unplayable - which is currently the case. -
Which game have you put the above in? - I would assume it goes in WOV as it needs the vietnamsea map. Also assume you have installed the A-7E_MF (Mirage Factory)? As for it not appearing - it should just appear in the custom single mission page with the others. The mission should be a .msn file and needs to be in the missions folder

Stock F-4E Phantom turning performance
MigBuster replied to harryleith's topic in General Discussion
Also note that the 1978 F-4E probably has leading edge slats - which means it should turn better than the earlier unslatted F-4E versions (i.e. 68/72) -
Happy Birthday to you

Is this supposed to be in the Falcon 4 forum? In Falcon 4 AF planes often land and then taxi to a parking space, where they sit for a time period until the game removes them - cant say I have sat and timed them. but yeah if this in the SF series then what FB said above

Sorry - didnt realise it was the time of year that the overpaid muppets get to pat themselves on the back for making some more mediocre films. Who got the award for most convincing tears - it wasnt the table leg again was it?

Sukhoi T-50 PAK FA - first flight!
MigBuster replied to Kulbit80's topic in Military and General Aviation
Well funny his conclusions always seem to be utter **** just like the papers he sticks on his website. The examples of Flanker Vs F-35 are some of the funniest things ive read - they are so out that these so called experts either dont know much about modern air combat - or have some other motives. Kopp calls himself a Doctor, but puts references in the papers to other papers written by himself - sorry but wtf!! Mainly because 90% of what he states (written as fact) has no evidence to back it up - or in the case of the F-35 and T-50 are not even in service yet. Look at the anaylis of the T-50 - I mean thats pretty impressive he can determine that capability from a few pics of a prototype. I understand that on paper the F-22 would be a better airframe than the F-35 in terms of stealth, range, and power - some things that are pretty important to an Island like Australia - but not moved that the F-35 (soon to be the worlds most advanced jet) is that bad a choice in reality. As far as the Vulcan Vs Tornado goes I'm glad they lost that debate, The Vulcan was designed as a long range high altitude bomber and was massive - the Tornado is a low level striker, faster, smaller and still had the range to hit its cold war targets better than the Vulcan could - IMO the Tornado fitted the low level strike role better. -

Thanks for the heads up -
Not seen that one - so could be a Windows problem. What version of the editor do you have, does the issue occur with other versions?
-
It possible no doubt - but would take a very long time to do it right.
-
Well its not - but plenty of people have put it over AF - still there might be a fix for this - try the red viper forums i guess

There used to be a few at hyperlobby - but there are still multi player squadron servers about like multivipers I believe.

Indian Navy demo team Kiran crashes
MigBuster replied to ghostrider883's topic in Military and General Aviation
Sorry to hear the news GR Also heard 3 South Korean pilots had died (yesterday?) when their F-5s hit mountains in bad weather. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/8544757.stm South Korea F-5 fighter jet crash kills three pilots Officials said poor weather could have let to the crash Three South Korean fighter pilots have died after their jets crashed into a mountain during a training mission, defence officials in Seoul have said. The F-5 jets were believed to have hit Mount Hwangbyeong, near Gangneung, about 237km (147 miles) east of Seoul, said the Yonhap news agency. Rescue teams found debris, clothing and body parts on the mountain. The cause of the incident is not yet known, but officials said poor visibility could have been to blame. The jets disappeared from radar shortly after taking off from an airbase in Gangneung. A search and rescue operation was launched but an official later said all three pilots had died. "There is a high possibility that the aircraft crashed due to bad visibility from the foggy weather. We will further investigate the causes," an Air Force spokesman earlier told Yonhap. One witness had reported "a thundering noise and acrid smoke near the mountain's summit". Yoon Heung-joon said he had seen what he believed to be the wreckage of the planes on the mountainside. Yonhap said, if confirmed, the crash would be the seventh involving South Korea's ageing F5 fleet since 2000. -
Who knows - depends on people wanting actually to do it though. This series was mainly about modding your own installs - which kept most people too busy to actually play them - even if you just play them theres a lot there

F-4E and F-4J radar, gunsight, and cockpit problem.
MigBuster replied to KJakker's topic in General Discussion
Well if you have no mods installed its likely the install is the problem - but I dont know the correct order to install them in. Thirdwire is probably the best place to go to to report it - if thats happening with the latest patch. -
People often paint them in Photoshop or GIMP (which is free) They need to stay as you have extracted them - as .bmp (24 bit probably), with the exact names - but you can rescale them or paint them. - there may be some tutorials about
-
Yeah - but thank the lucky stars TK didnt bother to implement the real firing procedure for the AIM-4 Falcon!!

1.Right - so you copied the WOE game folder from the Tiny notebook including all subfolders. You say the version you have copied over doesnt actually work on the Tiny - because you think Win XP on the Tiny notebook has a few corrupt/missing system files? 2. Forget the add on jets for now - Does the game CTD when you select a stock Jet in any state? 3. Do you get any messages at all? - so you think you have the correct version of DX9?

F-4E and F-4J radar, gunsight, and cockpit problem.
MigBuster replied to KJakker's topic in General Discussion
There have been similar threads here and at 3rd wire about a similar issue - it may be to do with the order the games were installed in / or patched in even -
go to downloads - for Strike fighters1 -> Patches

So can you clarify...the install of WOE you are copying over from the other laptop works fine on the tiny laptop yes? And you have copied the entire WOE game folder over? Are you getting any error messages after the CTD? anything about a missing .dll file? assume you have the correct version of Direct X 9? Does the game run ok using the in game stock jets?
