can you post a screen shot? you are never going to get great graphics with this sim - the graphics engine has only been improved on since 1998 - hasnt been revamped though Are they anything like these? http://bbs.thirdwire.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=5831 If you have the graphics bumped to max - increase your Antialiasing and Anisotropic Filtering in your Graphics cards advanced settings

Make sure your throttle is at zero - Recalibrate it if required

1 way is to go to the canopy section in the aircrafts data ini and just change it to manual: [Canopy] ......... DeploymentMethod=MANUAL .......

I didnt mean to give you the idea the person was right to send you the Pmail - however I would have to see the Pmail to see if it has been taken out of context or was just nasty. in any case you can mod whatever you like - it doesnt even have to stick to realism - and just dont listen to anybody who tells you otherwise.

They would be computer controlled flaps on an F-18 I believe - so you wouldnt be able to lower them in game by default.

ground target or air target? what weapon are you using? are you using labels? Depends on what avionics you are using - if you are a newbie set avionics to hard - and then learn how to use them via the manual

with hard hud use E to designate - and padlock is handy too - sometimes you have to view the target before you get there and zoom out - eg if its the 2nd fuel tank from the left you should be hitting. A trackir 4 and Padlock is a must for hard hud imo you can changed the size of the boxes etc in the huddata.ini - see the knowledgebase for more info

The event is in the media because its a relatively recent thing and will no doubt shock a lot of people - because broadcasting of suicides should not be acceptable or tolerated in any civilised society. The people will then say the usual blah about how evil the WWW is etc but unless they pass a law to stop live broadcasting over it (good luck with that) then not sure it can be stopped. Suicide happens anyway and will always happen regardless - and its often caused by other cowards (aka bullies) in society pushing them into that position - they then start to feel that they are the actual problem and feel its best for everyone if they just go. Yeah think it has been in WOI the whole time - and is now in WOE/WOV with the latest patches

Since WOI all the the stock A-A missiles are a lot worse at low level - but saying that against AA-2 Atolls just dont fly in a straight line for too long. If you flying a Mig for example down low is a good place to be - AIM-9Ls used to be unrealistic death rays but they have now been changed/improved somewhat (and more suceptable to flares if you have them)

Misleading unfortunately - the Aircraft will work fine they just wont have the weapons, drop tanks, and maybe effects and sounds but there is no dependency - ie you can stick any weapon with any jet if you like. See the threads above for sound advice and start again - dont worry everyones screwed an install at some point.

Not sure about being the best - but its a great blast for me - and after a bit of practise you can have some classic dogfights.

If the engine is out there is a backup to drop the gear with gravity which is Shift and Ctrl and Alt and G You need to print out the key map and the manual - there are hundreds of key combos so its not in your best interests to ask for individual keys
