welcome to the mad house -
Russo be VERY careful as using hte type of program like you show is a big NONO here but yeah I did similar tests ages ago in SF1 the top "sky cone" is the panels count in environment setting, the mesh is not lod but made by sim on the fly it seems at scene generation -heck I even tried texturing is with some high cirruses to no avail so far, the mapping gets all funky blunky

Strike Fighters 2 Screenshots
Stary replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Screen Shots
Had a brief chat with Chief (Dave) about state of play yesterday but despite my occasional bitching/mostly silence I am still alive in case you were wondering... those shall make Do335 and the KAW folks happy -

excellent shots Beach! When you gid into the inis you realise how utterly limited our options are when it comes to the environment engine, so sadly some of the things I would like to have -like say old style cirrus layers- are hardly possible without either using sort of object usage "hacks" like Cellinsky mod or having really big chance of causing ugly graphical artifacts -
I won't reveal anything secret -as this was hinted at by Paul on Atlantc Fleet's FB page- by saying one of our goals is having cumulative real time global WW2 naval warfare strategy/simulation down the road. One of goals

can't really add much to what was said, me too was anticipating P-40 sim from them based on that still pretty good engine; also yes shame as remake of MiG Alley would be much desired
-
as for mobile version yes, I too was getting pretty hot phone or tablet after some extended play time so Snailman you'd be happy to know the PC version doesn't overheat a thing and looks 100 percent better with the new ocean engine, updated self-shadowing ships' models and textures (including normalmaps) remade effects and overall polishing

Just bought it in Early Access. Don't expect full game BUT -to me the biggest novelty and old school fun (and to an extend you can agrue it's Postal fun) in ages, basically drunken bar brawl with flying chairs, cues, bottles or whatever you can grab, mixed with detailed cartoony damage modelling and tons of cartoon violence. I am amazed by the simplicity and fun http://store.steampowered.com/app/337320/

Ohhh it's alive?! Good good as it's still above the rest in some certain aspects
-
Blaze95 I have played a bit PR the standalone version but there any newbie gets kicked out quickly
-
Uhhh clarification - I meant "German and French" as in native language speaking players and es tut mir leid mein Deutsch kein perfect meine Herren
-
EA as in early access, not Electronic Farts Picked this one up yesterday, anyone plays it? Seems interesting already, sort of alternative to Arma series (but no vehicles so far that I notices) and Insurgency, men that one went down fast. Downside -mostly German or French players servers and bit too high ping for me, your mileage will vary. Player sides divide into organized fire teams, with up to 50-70 players per map For me it has that original OPF/Resistance vibe to it (that Arma lost around A2) with the general battlefield (sounds, effects, environemt impact) having bit of @SLX mod feel to it. Some might find it interesting http://store.steampowered.com/app/393380/

"This was the worse SW experience ever felt." Not really. Have you been in cinema to Attack of the Clones two times? I was decade ago, there is definitely worse SW experience. "What the F* was that??" "The Force Awakens", seventh chapter in the Star Wars saga directed by very skilled JJ Abrams. "Cheap New Hope nostalgia remake" Was more of a cheap soof, and was called "Spaceballs" released around 1986. "I thought we cannot sink deeper than Phantom Menace..." Yes we can, it's called "Attack of the Clones", check reply above. "Where was the music? I can't remember I heard anything... can you" Yes I can, maybe visit the ear doc? I am worried about your hearing... "@#$*@! Harrison Ford, he always hated SW and his Han Solo character... but to kill him like that. Spit into our face as SW fans... <hungarian equivalent of "F word' said 20 times>" That was one of the best deaths in SW series as it actually moved the plot and character development forward and meant something. Think of father sacrificing himself "because father's love"; seeing how his son is gone beyond return yet he has that slightest hope seeing own father would bring him back. "I have a feeling, that no one really wanted to work on this episode. Director, script writer, music composer, old characters... everyone... 30% or less of their best performance" You little hipster you... remind me of Ren's actress other 100% performance because I want to be blown away 70% more than I was already by her 30% Same for Poe, FN-2187 and that older grayhair man with an ape/dog companion, I forgot the name, he was funny as hell and seemed to enjoy starring in the movie tremendously. Kasdan? Hmmm... isn't that the guy who wrote that Empire Strikes Back space novel book I have on my shelf? I think they were planning to make some little movie out of it. Dunno what happened to it though "Rey was the only enjoyable character... without her, I would have stood up and leave at about half the movie" You meant fappable? But hey, whatever turn you on man! "Mediocre... I have seen it the second time, I got over it more or less - but I had the same first reaction. I understand your feelings" "Mediocre Morsov! Mediocre!" "I celebrated when Lucas left... now I ended up crying him back... " Definitely yes! We need more Jar Jar Senate talks! We need more Massa mussa speeches! Massa Snailamna hasa greatsa summary of tha crappa movia! To sum it up Snailman: yeah I hear you man but sorry to inform you, being hipster is no longer novelty. Ohhh maybe you kickstart your remake eh? gave you +1 as I like cheap internet comedy

Tile Editing Help
Stary replied to ShrikeHawk's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
pretty much what Wrench said, all the water-related tiles must be targa (.tga) ones as the stupid engine uses alpha channel value to overlay "water" graphics on and compute if the ie. impact happened on water or shore/land. The simplest way is to keep the channel intact as 90% of the tilesets try to do so to avoid some placement innacuracies when say new tileset is used to replace older ot stock one
