    4. Supermarine Attacker FB.1 - Pakistan Air Force

Supermarine Attacker FB.1 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
N.B. Requires 'AttackerA-R0c2' LOD from the SFP1 Dev A-Team website.
This is a simple mod of the Attacker FB.2 'Beta' hosted at the SFP1 Dev A-Team website to give an Attacker FB.1 of the Pakistan Air Force who were the only export customer for this pioneering but rather pedestrian British aircraft and, indeed, the last export customer for new-build Supermarine aircraft.
Serial numbers for all 36 Pakistan aircraft (R4000 to R4035) are included and an alternative 'nose' bitmap is included if you prefer not to have the red nose seen on many pictures of this aircraft in service with the Pakistan Air Force.

      INSTRUCTIONS
      1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the AttackerFB1_PAF folder into your Aircraft folder.
      2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the AttackerFB1_PAF folder into your Decals folder.
You must then copy and paste the AttackerA-R0c2 LOD from your existing Attacker into the AttackerFB1_PAF aircraft folder.

      CREDITS
Thanks to Ralph Pegram who created the FS2004 model and to Capun for the conversion into SFP1.
Thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim.
And thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community.

    5. F-4S_Beta.7z

Here is an F-4S Phantom II with only 2 skins. I have in my personal stash version more skins, but I need to finish tweaking.
The completed version will have more skins and I'll include weps and sound files, pilots etc.  If no pilot shows up when u try this one you'll have to edit the 'data' file and change the pilot with one you have.
I just realized I neglected to change the sound settings in the data file...so i enclosed my j79.wav files.

Be careful not to overwrite what you don't want to loose, so I'd unzip it to somwplace like C:\Temp...the copying to the right folders.

    6. DEUCES Euro Desert Terrain

Am not sure who created this mod of the desert terrain using Euro Airwar textures other than 'Dueces' but here it is.
I call it in a couple missions uploaded in my F-4S_F-4N pack to be uploaded today barring tech difficulties.

I modded the 'nations' file, BTW.

    7. Kosovo_beta

I saw in the forum someone asked about a Kosovo terrain and someone else thought there was one around (albiet this was posted some time back.) Anyway, here is that Kosovo terrain. Unfortunately, somehow ( i ) apparently overwrote the planning maps with the 'desert' planning maps at some point so i put in blank bitmaps to substitute. If you take one of your msn files and substitute 'kosovo' for lets say 'desert' it should work. If you use the kmd mission editor you can see where the targets are located and move your planes where you want of course.
Perhaps, I will get some sort of map plotted at some point, but the only way i know how to do that is to trial and error with the kmd mission editor and starting the game up to see where i end up. Someone with more experience with some other util could prob whip something up.
If, you like the F-4S in the image I will try to get the skins finished and up load it soon.
I uploaded a couple mission files, but you'll still have to edit them unless you have the same planes and ground objects. My CV-41 USS Midway is in da ocean in at least one of these missions. (They're just samples...some planes some 'groundObjects' no planning just samples)
I do not know who created this Kosovo terrain to give credit to or if they mind me loading it here. Have no clue where and when i got it. Must have been years ago. Its pretty simple terrain. Very frame rate friendly, tons of mountains and hills, plus the ocean (the adriatic i suppose its called.) Not up; to modern standards. You might like the 'Black Sea' terrain better if you want detail and fly in that neighborhood.

    8. [Fictional] McDonnell Douglas A-4E Skyhawk 'Greece'

McDonnell Douglas A-4E Skyhawk, Hellenic Air Force for STRIKE FIGHTERS 1
This is a simple mod of the Third Wire A-4E Skyhawk to create a fictional A-4E in service with the Hellenic Air Force during the 1967 to 1991 timeline. It should work with any Series One game with the A-4E LOD's and 'What If' markings are included for 330 Mira in an 'as delivered' USN scheme and also 339 Mira and 340 Mira in wrap-around camo schemes made by me using the template uploaded by BUFF.

      INSTRUCTIONS
      1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the A-4E_HAF folder into your Aircraft folder.
      That's it!

    9. SF1: Nanchang Q-5A 'Fantan' Mongolian AF (What If)

Nanchang Q-5A 'Fantan' for Strike Fighters 1
This is a simple mod of the excellent Nanchang Q-5/A-5 Fantan brought to us by 101tfs, Erwin_Hans and friends back in 2008 to make a fictional export version for the Mongolian Air Force. This mod uses the famous 'ordway' MiG-19S pit and the original cockpit 'read me' is included in the aircraft folder - it's certainly worth a read.

      INSTRUCTIONS
      1. From the Aircraft folder drag and drop the Q-5A into your Aircraft folder.
That's it! I like to keep things simple so I use stock weapons and effects.

      CREDITS
Thanks to TK for a great little game/sim.

    10. Avro Canada CF-103 Archer

Avro Canada CF-103 Arrow for Strike Fighters 1
      This is a simple mod of the excellent Shenyang F-8IIM 'FinBack-B' brought to us by Erwin_Hans back in 2008 to make a fictional Canadian cold-war interceptor with markings for the following RCAF squadrons;
No.409 Squadron (Blue & Yellow Rudder Stripes)
No.410 Squadron (Red & White Rudder Stripes)
No.414 Squadron (Black & Red Rudder Stripes)
No.416 Squadron (Black & Yellow Rudder Stripes)
No.425 Squadron (Black & Silver Rudder Stripes)

N.B. 1960's RCAF markings are a bit of a challenge as they changed so often so I've just gone for a mid-1960's snapshot!

      BACKSTORY
Serving with no less that nine front-line RCAF squadrons at its peak in the mid-1950's, the Avro Canada CF-100 Canuck provided all-weather defense against Soviet intruders and the four Canuck squadrons based in Europe from 1956 to1962 were, for some time, the only NATO fighters capable of operating in zero visibility and poor weather conditions. However, recognising the fact that the Soviet Union was working on newer jet-powered bombers the RCAF began looking for a missile-armed replacement for the CF-100 even before it had entered service and in January 1953 the RCAF's All-Weather Interceptor Requirements Team submitted a report to the Canadian Government outlining their requirements.
      In response, Avro Canada came up with three distinct proposals;
      1. A subsonic CF-100 development with a thinner swept wing and tail surfaces and with external missile stores (CF-100S).
      2. A single-seat supersonic delta-winged aircraft with twin engines and external missile stores (CF-103).
      3. A large two-seat supersonic delta-winged aircraft with twin engines and an internal missile bay (CF-105).

After a full year of reviewing Avro Canada's proposals the RCAF announced in February 1954 that they considered that the CF-103 represented the optimum balance between cost, efficacy and in-service date and requested that Avro Canada should be awarded a production contract for 200 CF-103's. To keep costs down the RCAF stipulated the use of two key 'off the shelf' items; the Hughes MA-1 fire control system (from the Convair F-102A) and the Rolls-Royce Avon afterburning turbojet (from the English Electric Lightning). Whilst both items were actually still under development themselves, they were considered to be a safer choice than any home-grown paper project and likely to reach maturity for the projected in-service date of 1960. The only area of risk was the decision to arm the CF-103 with the radical British ADEN 230 twin-barreled cannon in a streamlined semi-conformal installation carrying the cannon and with a 500 round ammunition drum stored immediately above and inside the fuselage.
The CF-103 used the then fashionable delta-wing configuration but with slab tailplanes and, in order to house a large radar set, the CF-103  used a solid nose with variable geometry air intakes on the fuselage with intake ramps and splitter plates which proved to be a perfect match for the Avon RB.146 turbojet engines each rated at 12,500 lbs thrust dry and 16,500 lbs thrust with afterburner. The aircraft was intended to be built directly from the production line thus skipping the traditional hand-built prototype phase and luckily very little re-design was required as testing progressed. On October 4th 1957, the same day as the launch of Sputnik 1, the first CF-103A was rolled out at Avro Canada's facility at Malton, Ontario eventually making it's first flight on December 30th, 1957 with Chief Development Test Pilot Janusz Zurakowski at the controls. Flight testing quickly demonstrated excellent handling and overall performance, reaching Mach 2.1 in level flight. Development was slowed slightly due to problems with the Hughes MA-1 Fire Control System and the ADEN 230 twin-barreled cannon but the first two CF-103A's entered service with No.425 Squadron on August 15th, 1961 in a ceremony at RCAF Namao, Alberta becoming fully operational by the end of the year.

      INSTRUCTIONS
      1. From the Aircraft folder drag and drop the CF-103A and CF-103B folders into your Aircraft folder.
That's it! But why are there two aircraft?
Firstly, I wanted to show this aircraft with AIM-4D Falcons so chose the CF-103A for that but to get Falcons to appear in 1963 I've had to use 'USAF' as the nation name in both the data.ini and textureset.ini which allows a 1963 in service date instead of the 1966 (the allowable export year of the AIM-4D).
Secondly, I like the look of the black intakes used on the CF-103B which are an affectionate nod towards the mighty CF-105 Arrow. So all five CF-103B skins have black intakes whilst the CF-103A has grey intakes and the continuous 'cheat line' but you can swap things around to suit your own preferences.

    11. Xian FBC-1M 'Flying Leopard'

      Xian FBC-1M for SF1
This is a simple mod of the excellent JH-7A/FBC-1 released by Insky many years ago to give a fictional export version in service with the Mongolian Air Force. This is released 'as is' and really needs a good Chinese weapons pack, something I don't have in my SF1 installs or simply download the JH-7A.

      BACKSTORY

Under Soviet pressure at the end of World War Two, the Republic of China was obliged to formally accept Mongolian independence. However, following the Communists victory in the Chinese Civil War, the People's Republic of China warmly recognised Mongolia's independent status and established diplomatic relations with Mongolia during 1949. Although Mongolia aligned itself with the Soviet Union during the Cold War both nations patiently came to agreement on border disputes and by 1986 they had begun to establish trade agreements that paved the way for the 1988 treaty on border control and the 1994 treaty of friendship.
By 2002, China had become Mongolia's biggest trade partner and their largest source of foreign investment with China allowing the use of its Tianjin port to give Mongolia access to trade within the Asia Pacific region and, in return, giving China access to Mongolia's natural resources. In a move designed to bolster regional security China exported 20 Xian FBC-1 Flying Leopard fighter-bombers (the export version of the JH-7A) which entered service with the Mongolian Air Force in 2008.

      INSTRUCTIONS
      1. Drop the FBC-1M folder into your Aircraft folder.

    12. WW2 Allied Bombing Range

WW2 Allied Bombing Range for SF, WoV & WoE

This is a modification of several inis, and adding objects to give The Range a World War 2 flavor, for the Allies.
This modificaton has been thoughly tested in SF and WoE, but not WoV. You shouldn't have any problems though, by making sure you 'cat file' pointer is pointed to the correct terrain cat. (see the Knowledge Base here at CA, or the newest Range readmes)

Many of these WW2 items have been borrowed from other maps, most specificlly Edwards superb PTO and EuroWW2. Others were scattered about, like the train station and factory place.
I'd like to express thanks to the Map Builders for their tireless work, hope I mentioned everyone ... I can fully understand the frustrations in placing objects now, after working on this and several other maps.

You'll need the original Range installed to make this mod to, as the terrain iteself is not changed. This is an object and ini mod, not a full terrain. You'll also have a NEW movements ini; now you can perform Armed Recon missions.

PLEASE read the enclosed readme for full, detailed instructions as to how to install. Although this mod can be used in any install, it is designed with WW2 =ONLY= in mind. Most of these mods, however, can easily be added to any other Range terrain (specifically, the movements ini and the new target areas).

Now, no excuses... get out ther and practice!!

    15. Supermarine Siskin F.1 (Mystère IV - RAF)

Supermarine Siskin F.1 for SF1 Wings Over Israel
This is a simple mod of the excellent Third Wire Dassault Mystère IV to give a 'what if' Supermarine Siskin F.1 with markings for No.43, No.56 and No.63 squadrons of the Royal Air Force's Fighter Command during the mid-late 1950's era.
It is essential that you have Wings Over Israel as this is the only 'Series One' game to have the Mystère IV LOD's.

      BACKSTORY
The early-1950's was a difficult time for RAF Fighter Command. The obscolescent Meteor F.8 formed the mainstay of Fighter Command but it could barely catch the RAF's Canberra jet bombers and would have been hopelessly outclassed by MiG-15's if the Cold War had turned hot. But just at the time that Fighter Command should have been looking forward to receiving the modern swept-wing Hawker Hunter and Supermarine Swift fighters both programmes hit severe technical problems. especially the doomed Swift. Even before the decision to cancel the Swift fighter programme (taken in February 1955) the Air Ministry were looking for an 'off the shelf' purchase of an interim 'stop-gap' type and although the North American F-86 Sabre was procured in substantial numbers the desperately poor balance of payments situation with the US prevented further purchases.
Dassault had previously offered the Mystère IIC to the UK Government and had been turned down. But in November 1952 an RAF evaluation team were sent to Istres to evaluate the Mystère IV and submitted an enthusiastic report to the Air Ministry who decided to place an order for 200 Mystère IV's to be licence-built by Supermarine Aviation with Rolls Royce Tay engines. Entering service in March 1955 as the Siskin F.1 this fine aircraft was used by RAF Fighter Command until the early 1960's with the subsequent Siskin FGA.2 fighter-bomber serving in RAF Far East Air Force until 1970.

      INSTRUCTIONS
      1. Drop the SiskinF1 folder into your Aircraft folder.

    16. F4F-4 Wildcat, VF-41, MTO "Torch"

Grumman F4F-4 Wildcat, VF-41 'Operation Torch' Skin & Ini Pak

      for SF/SFG/WoV/WoE WW2: MTO Installs

=Version 2.0 - will update and REPLACE the original from 2005=

This package contains a new skin, and some minor data & cockpit ini mods for Pasko's F4F-4 "Wildcat". It is designed to TOTALLY replace the VF-41 version released several years ago.

The skin represents VF-41 "Red Rippers" based aboard USS RANGER during Operation Torch, the Invasion of North Africa (well, actually, we all know it was Morocco and Tunisia, but why quibble???)

This new skin, like the other Wildcat skins I've done recently, is from my home-grown template, with all redrawn panel, rivet and other details. It has been resized to 1024x, so has a bit more detail than the older 512 version. All new decals, of the correct font and size have been created for the Modex and BuNums. The BuNums ARE for -4 Wildcats, but I was unable to acertain WHICH exact numbers were used by VF-41 during Torch. So, consider them as 'generic'; accurate, but generic <grin>

For those that haven't updated their MTO install's F4F-4, all the inis and sounds from the PTO Wildcat Upgrade are included; new data, cockpit and Main ini --so make sure you follow the instructions below!!!
The cockpit ini makes use of a new WW2 N-3 gunsight tga.
Like it's PTO brother, the canopy has been switched to an animation key (shift/0). The wingfold stays the same as originally issued; you use the bomb-bay control key (cntrl/O). As always, all the lights have been updated with accurate running, formation and landing lights. Also, the landing gear retraction sound is now the 'rachet' noise, as heard in the PTO upgrades.
A new WoE-style 'carrier deck' hangar screen, JUST for this mod is included (as it uses the VF41 skin)

As always, it's reccomended you unzip this package to a temp folder or your desktop, or somewhere's else that's easy to find to gain access to the rest of this readme for full, detailed install instructions.

      Good Hunting!

    18. Hawker Hunter FGA.9 'Belize'

Hawker Hunter FGA.9  'Belize' - Royal Air Force for STRIKE FIGHTERS 1
This is a very simple mod of the sublime Third Wire Hunter FGA.9 to enable you to fly a 1960's era Hunter with either No.1417 Flight based in Belize or No.1435 Flight based on the Falkland Islands. Both are very famous flights in the RAF but such deployments are, of course, fictional. For gameplay reasons, No.1417 Flight are squadron strength whilst No.1435 Flight are just a four-ship with Faith, Hope, Charity and Desperation tail codes!
This will only work in 'Wings Over Europe' but you can, of course, also make it work in the other Third Wire Series One games by extracting and exporting all of the relevant files.

      INSTRUCTIONS
      1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the HunterFGA9b folder into your Aircraft folder.
      2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the HunterFGA9b into your Decals folder.
Your stock Hunter FGA.9 will not be affected by this mod.

    19. Eagle F.1 RAF Binbrook

McDonnell Douglas Eagle F.1 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 1
This is a simple mod of the stock F-15A Eagle to give a 'what if' Eagle F.1 interceptor fighter with markings for No.5 and No.11 squadrons of No.11 Group of the RAF as they might have appeared in the late 1970's.
This mod will only work with 'Wings Over Europe'. If you have 'Wings Over Israel' then it can be hacked into shape by a little bit of editing to point to the appropriate stock 'Baz' LOD's and files and also swapping the Skyflash missiles for Sparrows in the loadout.ini.

      INSTRUCTIONS
      1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the EagleF1 folder into your Aircraft folder.
      That's it!

    20. Dhimari Hunter FGA. Mark 61 (FGA.9) for SF1

Hawker Hunter FGA.61 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 1
This is a simple mod of the stock Hunter FGA.9 to give a 'what if' Hunter FGA.61 fighter with markings for No.1 and No.3 squadrons of the Dhimari Air Force.
Please note that this mod is optimised for use in 'Wings Over Israel' and it will NOT work in 'Strike Fighters Gold' or 'Wings Over Vietnam' as neither game has the Hunter FGA.9 LOD's. It will work in 'Wings Over Europe' but you will not have the stock Arabic serial numbers appearing.

      INSTRUCTIONS
      1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the HunterFGA61 folder into your Aircraft folder.
      That's it!

    22. Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15bis - RJAF

      Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15bis - Royal Jordanian Air Force
This is a simple mod of the stock Third Wire MiG-15bis from the 'Wings Over Israel Add-On' to give a flyable Mig-15bis of the Royal Jordanian Air Force.
Please do not download this mod if you don't have 'Wings Over Israel Add-On' from Series One.

      BACKSTORY
Despite Jordan gaining independence in 1946 it wasn't until 1950 that Jordan began to establish an embryonic air force with the assistance of the Royal Air Force. When Hussein bin Talal became King of Jordan (following the abdication of his father in August 1952) he was keen to see Jordan develop a more modern air force and looked to create a balance in his relationship with the West and the Soviet Union by ordering military equipment from both. The already obsolete de Havilland Vampire and Gloster Meteor were selected for ground-attack whilst the MiG-15bis was selected for interception duties with the first examples arriving in September 1955 to equip No.1 Squadron of the newly formed Royal Jordanian Air Force.

      INSTRUCTIONS
      1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the MiG-15bisRJAF folder into your Aircraft folder.

Thanks to TK for a great little game/sim.

    23. RAF Phantom FG.2 (No.38 Group)

McDonnell Douglas Phantom FG.2 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 1
This is a simple mod of the stock Phantom F-4B to give a 'what if' J79 powered Phantom FG.2 tactical fighter with markings for No.6, No.41 and No.54 squadrons of No.38 Group of RAF Strike Command as they might have appeared in the late 1960's but I've also included some two-colour B-type markings for you to play around with.
In theory, this should work in any 'first generation' game that has the standard F-4B LOD's. As SFG and WOV does not have the RAF Letter codes I've made some of my own in yellow and white and included them here to help avoid bare fins although there's plenty going on in fin land.

      BACKSTORY
The successful first flight of the McDonnell XF4H-1 (Phantom II) on May 27th, 1958 certainly piqued the interest of both the RAF and the Royal Navy and by 1959 both were granted official 'observer status' on the project. The realisation that only two of the Royal Navy's five aircraft carriers could operate an aircraft of the XF4H-1's size (and that only after extensive modernisation) soon cooled the interest of the Senior Service but the RAF could see a promising aircraft of obvious potential across many roles and not just in their search for a Hunter replacement. By 1960 McDonnell were scheming various tactical fighter versions of the F4H-1 Phantom II with J79 engines including a minimum change version of the baseline USN F-4B to replace the Hunter and Javelin in RAF service and supplement the Lightning.
The RAF had already bore the brunt of the 1957 Defence White Paper and had then suffered the ignominy of losing the UK's nuclear deterent in the planned switch from V-Force to Polaris. Following this heavy perceived loss of status the Air Staff were so determined to get the TSR.2 that in March 1961 they volunteered to forsake the supersonic V/STOL P.1154 strike fighter and STOL AW.681 tactical transport and replace both with off the shelf purchases of American aircraft. Both projects were declared as "too technically challenging to succeed in the current fiscal situation" but the early cashing-in of both projects did ultimately save the TSR.2 which went on to survive the 1964 Budget Review and enter RAF service at the end of the 1960's.
Meanwhile, back in August 1961 the UK Government became the first export customer for McDonnell's XF4H-1 with an order for 350 aircraft consisting of 150 interceptor-fighters for RAF Fighter Command and 200 tactical fighters for RAF Germany and No.38 Group. Designated by McDonnell as the F-4K and by the RAF as Phantom F.1 and Phantom FGA.2 the first F-4K rolled off the St. Louis production line in February 1963 with a ceremonial first flight on April 1st, 1963 to coincide with the RAF's 45th birthday celebrations. These early RAF Phantoms retained the AAA-4 infrared search and tracking sensor fitted to a prominent bulge underneath the radome housing the powerful AN/APQ-72 radar and were powered by two General Electric J79-GE-8A engines each rated at 10,000lbs dry thrust and 17,000 lbs thrust with afterburner.
The Phantom FG.2 entered service with No.41 squadron at Coningsby in January 1966 and eventually equipped no less than ten RAF squadrons at home and abroad.

      INSTRUCTIONS
      1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the PhantomFG2 folder into your Aircraft folder.
      2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the PhantomFG2 into your Decals folder.

This is a simple mod of the stock Phantom F-4B to give a 'what if' Phantom F.1 interceptor-fighter with markings for No.19 and No.92 squadrons of RAF Germany as they might have appeared in the 1960's. Also included is a No.43 squadron skin.
