    1. F-103E and F-103D - Mirage III Brazilian Air Force PACK

F-103 Mirage III Brazilian Air Force

Install - Need Update July 2012, DLC Mirage IIIO (DLC Mirage IIIEL optional cockpit)

      History
The history of the Mirage III in Brazil goes back to the sixties, when the FAB elaborated a modernization program and the creation of an air space control system. In 1967 the implementation started of the SISDACTA- Sistema Integrado de Defesa Aérea e Controle de Tráfego Aéreo (Integrated Air Traffic Control and Air Defence System) and of the COMDA-Comando de Defesa Aérea (Air Defence Command).

As part of the program, it was necessary to acquire a supersonic aircraft to execute the air defence and interception missions. The FAB's initial desire was to obtain the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II, however it could not be materialised because of American restrictions on the sale of advanced military equipment to South American countries.

With the Phantom out of the game, the remaining option was to look for an European fighter. Among the contenders were the British English Electric Lightning, the Swedish Saab Draken and the French Dassault-Breguet Mirage IIIE. About the same time, the Mirage IIIC, in the hands of the Israeli pilots, inflicted heavy losses to its Arabic neighbours in the 'Six Day War'. There is no doubt that the Mirage III's excellent performance, achieved by the Israelis in that war, helped Dassault-Breguet secure many clients around the world, including Brazil.

      Operational Career
On April 11, 1979, the 1º GDA ( Primeiro Grupo de Defesa Aérea – First Air Defence Group) was officially established. On April 19, 1979, the 1º ALADA was disbanded and the 1º GDA took over its functions and F-103 aircraft. The 1º GDA remained stationed at Anápolis AB.

During its operational career in Brazil, the Mirage III fleet suffered some attrition and many additional airframes were bought to replace the lost ones and to keep up the 1º GDA's combat readiness. In total, Brazil acquired 16 additional aircraft from Armée de L’Air surplus. These consisted of four F-103E in 1980, two F-103D in 1984, two F-103E in 1988, two F-103D and two F-103E in 1989, two F-103E in 1998 and the last two F-103D in 1999.

The F-103 Mirage IIIEBR represented a tremendous leap to the Brazilian Air Force, being over thirty years of service and more than 65,000 flying hours.
The versions of Mirage III acquired by FAB were developed primarily for air defense missions, but keep some capacity to act as platforms for ground attack.
The engine was a SNECMA ATAR 09C, whose maximum thrust with afterburning reached 13,900 pounds (6305 kg), leading the aircraft a maximum speed of Mach 2.2 (2,350 km / h).
The fire control system was based on radar Thomson-CSF Cyrano II, which originally operated the integrated air-to-air missile infrared Matra R530, later replaced by Israeli missile Python III.
As arms fixed, the aircraft was equipped with two 30 mm DEFA. For navigation, the Mirage III FAB type Doppler systems used. In the early '90s, the FAB joined the Squadron's missions Jaguar air-ground attack, starting to use free-fall bombs and rocket launchers.

    2. EAF MIG-17F Fresco, Fighter-Bomber Modification

      EAF MiG-17F Fresco-C Fighter-Bomber Mod

=For SF2, Any and All - Reccomended for Use in SF2:I=

This is a revamping of my 2008 releade of the same aircraft, now updated/tweeked/fiddled with for SF2*. As such, it is my not-so-humble attempt to duplicate the fighter-bomber modifications the EAF performed on their MiG-17's during the 6 Day War.

*meaning....I'd forgotten I was doing it and stumbled across it 'hidden' in SF2I!*

Inis have been adjusted to make use of various and sundry imporvement since the initial release.
This is a complete package, with weapons*, skins, cockpit (Ordway's Fresco pit). Markings make use of all stock in-game decals. The only thing =NOT=included is the Fresco's LOD, as it's pretty much available in ALL versions of SF2. Loadouts have been 'adjusted', using the new 'change by year' feature, to discontinue use of the Sakr pak, and return to standard UB series rocket pods around 1975. The data ini (ie: Flight Model) is fully updated to the latest patch level (Oct 2011 -not the betas)

*weapons included are the Sakr rocket rack and pylon set. It uses the S-5 57mm rocket that should be stock in all installs. The FAB-100 may require the GunnyPak*

As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them!! As always, the usual "Notes" section for other interestering details and stuff.

    5. S-106 - MiG-21F13

Between 1962 and 1972 the MiG-21F-13 version was manufactured under license by Aero Vodochody, in Czechoslovakia.
Aero Vodochody (then Stredoceské strojírny, n.p.), built a total of 194 planes during this period, under the cover designation article Z-159.
It followed the MiG-15 and MiG-19S built in Vodochody factory from the fifties to sixties.
The sole locally built version of the MiG-21F-13 differed externally from the Soviet-built examples by the solid dural sheet fairing behind the cockpit canopy, as opposed to the transparent one on the original Soviet MiGs.
These machines were built for the Czechoslovak Air Force and also for export (26 EAF; 8 SyAF). The R13-300 engines were imported from the Soviet Union.

      ***********************************
      F-105F and G Thunderchief introduction & History
      ***********************************

The F-105F was heavily committed to combat over Southeast Asia. Some were quickly adapted for the "Wild Weasel" air-defense suppression role, fitted with electronics to detect enemy radars and target air defense sites for destruction in advance of strike packages. The original Air Force "Wild Weasel I" was a modified two-seat North American F-100F Super Sabre, but the F-100 wasn't fast enough to keep up with F-105 strike packages, and so the F-105F was selected for the role.

The major elements of the modification were addition of the "APR-25 Radar Homing And Warning (RHAW)" system, which picked up and located radar sites; the "APR-26 Launch Warning Receiver (LWR)", which provided warning of a missile launch; and an "IR-133 Scan Receiver" to search for emitters. The back-seat "electronics warfare officer (EWO)" controlled these devices and had a cockpit CRT to help locate targets.

The first such F-105F "Wild Weasel II", sometimes informally known as an "EF-105F", performed its first flight on 15 January 1966, and the Wild Weasel Thuds were engaged in active combat by the spring of that year. A total of 86 Wild Weasel F-105F conversions were performed.

The Wild Weasel F-105F was armed with the new "AGM-45 Shrike Anti-Radar Missile (ARM)", a modified Sparrow AAM with a radar-homing head, to destroy radar transmitters, and attacked air-defense sites with CBU-24 cluster bombs and other munitions. Sometimes Wild Weasel F-105Fs worked with F-105Ds in "hunter-killer" teams, with the Wild Weasel Thud pinpointing the target and the F-105Ds destroying it.

While other aircraft could avoid air-defense sites when possible, Wild Weasels actually had to attract their attention and take them on. This led to the Wild Weasel motto, which was "YGBSM", standing for "You Gotta Be s**ttin' Me!" Apparently this was the reaction of the first Wild Weasel aircrews when they were told what they were getting themselves into.

Wild Weasel crews were generally gutsy sorts, and they evolved tactics for outflying SAMs launched at them. They would watch for a missile launch, and then fly straight at the SAM at high speed, turning at the last moment. The fast-moving SAM would not be able to turn quickly enough to bring the fighter into the blast radius of its warhead.

Two Wild Weasel F-105F pilots won the highest American military award, the Congressional Medal of Honor. On 10 March 1967, Captain Merlyn F. Dethlefsen was piloting one of four Wild Weasel Thuds paving the way for a strike package. The leader was shot down by anti-aircraft fire, and North Vietnamese MiG-21 fighter made repeated passes on the survivors, trying to force them to dump their ordnance. Dethlefsen pressed home the attack anyway and destroyed the site. All three surviving Wild Weasels returned home with severe damage. Dethlefsen was personally awarded the medal by President Johnson.

On 19 April 1967, Lieutenant Colonel Leo K. Thorsness had completed a Wild Weasel strike when his wingmates were shot down. He was low on fuel but stayed around to cover the air rescue operation, driving of a flight of MiG-17s that tried to interfere. Thorsness shot down one MiG and damaged another. He passed up an opportunity to refuel from a tanker when another aircraft breathing fumes showed up, and landed safely at Ubon, a forward base in Thailand.

On 30 April, Thorsness' F-105 was hit and badly damaged. He and his EWO ejected, Thorsness being badly injured in the process, and were captured by the North Vietnamese. They spent over six years in a North Vietnamese POW camp.

      * 56 Wild Weasel F-105Fs were later updated to an improved "Wild Weasel III" configuration with the designation "F-105G", featuring improved avionics, as well as jammer pods that were faired into the forward fuselage, freeing up the underwing pylons for other stores. 14 of the F-105Gs were further modified to carry the big AGM-78 "Standard Anti-Radar Missile (STARM)", an air-launched variant of the US Navy's "Standard" SAM.

    10. TSF F 35 Draken Flyvevabnet Package

The Scandinavian Front Saab F-35 Draken Flyvevabnet Package
      By Team TSF & Friends

Danish export version: F-35 single-seat strike aircraft, The type was heavily modified to make it into a strike aircraft; compared to the Swedish versions the outer wings where completely redesigned, and the radar was missing. These aircraft could carry heavy bombs as well as Bullpup missiles, during the WDNS upgrade of the 1980s they received the ALQ-162 jammer a Marconi 900 Series HUD and a Ferranti LRMTS (laser rangefinder and marked target seeker)

Package contains two aircraft, F 35 version and the upgraded F 35 (82) version. Both birds are nice strike aircraft, albeit more sluggish then the standard Draken. Have fun!

      Installation:
Go to your Mod Folders. For Windows 7/Vista, this is located in C:\Users\Your Name\Saved Games\Thirdwire. For Windows XP Users, it is usually in My Documents.
Unzip the contents of the 7zip files into the mod folder of your choice. Allow any overwrites.

      Please note:
Loadouts are not entirely accurate. I taken a few liberties with the 82 version, as sources was hard to find. Also, the air intake rail was usually reserved for the Bullpup but I reserved it for the quite exellent Sidewinder Rails made by Volker.

    14. SAAB J29F Tunnan for SF2

      SAAB J29F Tunnan for SF2
      = For SF2, Full-4 Merged, and/or SF2E

      --
      *Important Note:
The main reason for SF2 and/or SF2E, is this aircraft now uses the stock Hunter FGA.9 cockpit. Should be available in all versions, excepting stand-alone SF2V (and even then, possibly when merged, even using the SF2V exe?). In other words ... any SF2 install that has access to the Hunter 9's cockpit parts.
      ---

This is an upgrade/mod of the SAAB J29F Tunnan, as released by Phlerp & Co in either 2004 or 2006 (the lod is dated 2004, and the original readme in dated 2006. Go Figure!)

Several small tweeks to the various inis have been done; the cockpit switched to the stock Hunter 9, all skins and decals are setup SF2 style, and all weapons for this aircraft are included. I couldn't positiviely ID the canopy node, so that is NOT working. The weapons are taken from the GunnyPak, so if you have them installed, just allow the overwrite. There are also landing lights.<grin> The destroyed model uses a stock 3rdWire one available in ALL versions, so won't be any issue there (Fresco).

The damage textures have been converted to dds format; however the original tgas ARE included. A new SF2-style hangar screen in included. Avionics mods adds a radar-ranging gunsight (weither this is historically accurate??? don't know!). A new Userlist ini is included; with luck I got the years right (or close enough)

As always, READ the enclosed readme for full, highly detailed, step-by-step install instructions. This package is set up for a 'drag and drop' style of installation -- everything has been divided into the proper folder format that SF2 needs/wants/requires. Of course, the usual "Notes" section for other stuff.

      Happy Landings!

    15. F-4K_TMF_OCT26_2015

This F-4K from the Mirage Factory will replace all previous versions as so many changes have been made since the last release......please read the readme.

BEFORE downloading this file you will need to have the ThirdWire F-4K DLC installed as this mod aircraft uses the TW cockpits, if not it just wont work.

All markings except serial numbers/letters are painted on......if you don't like this style of skinning then don't download it.

Tested on a fully merged July 13 install.

Please be aware that this is a Mirage Factory product so no modifications to be uploaded without permission please.

    16. Yak-25RV Mandrake [REVAMP]

      Yak-25RV NATO reporting name Mandrake

High altitude reconnaissance version with new wing and camera and sensor packs in the fuselage. Some may have retained one cannon. 155 aircraft built (Wikipedia).

I´ve started this template some months ago, then Stary teased me with a pit he was making, which eventually led me to complete the template.

The model as is, is the one of Pasko´s Old Yaks, it has some imperfections you will have to live with as i was unable to fix.

1 High res skin has been made on my part along with the numbers, but the real Star here was Stary, giving a whole new feel to the plane with the cockpit he made.

Also, must credit my good friend Daniel "Cocas" Liebaert, who let me use a MiG-17 seat we have for another soon to release project.

The rest, of the people who worked in this project, i will need to send me a PM so i can include them here.

Hope you like it and let´s beef our Red Army!!!

    18. U.S.A.F. Early Model Sabres SF2

16th July 2009 SF2 version updates by knx, all props go to original creators listed below the dotted line.

Install instructions, drag and drop Objects folder into your mod folder.

Notes: I will try to figure out why the magnetic compass to the right of the cockpit isn't showing up, just a case of finding the appropriate bmp from first series games I think. Will update as and when. Please let me know if you spot something else that needs updating/tweaking. I'm sure there is something I missed, so point it out to me please if you can, the reason I'm uploading now as it is, is so that issues can be pointed out and resolved before the rest of the packs to follow. Regards, Gwyn.

      ...............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
The original readme follows, note that this pack is only one specific part of what is described here, the next lot I will be updating are the later model USAF Sabres (I don't know who is doing the MiG-15s)

      F-86 Sabre /MiG-15 README:

First of all I would like to think “USAFMTL” for allowing me to be a part of this effort.

Secondly thanks go to David Zurawski for his wonderful F-86 Sabre that is such a work of art.

Thirdly thank you to all that have modeled and skined the work to developed individual sub-models of the F-86.

Thanks to Jimmy Bib for all his graphical engineering.

Lastly thank you to “Fubar 512" for his expert guidance in my effort in Flight Modeling.

If ever the was an aircraft the looked, felt, smelt, and tasted like a fighter aircraft ; it’s the F-86 Sabre!

And being an actual jet rated pilot, with a little over 1,200 actual flight hours, compelled me to tweak , my “Sweet Sabre”.

Being my all time favorite aircraft and being an avid history nut about the Korean Conflict compelled me in an effort to add to these works that so many started.

First of all. All data contained in the data.ini files was deeply researched by “USAFMTL” and myself.

Only minor tweaks where utilized, building on the work of those that created the aircraft models.

All aircraft preform to Dash 1 specifications to the degree of 99.9%.

All aircraft where thoroughly tested by hundreds hours of actual, not autopilot, testing.

The yank and bank style of A.C.M. with this aircraft is gone.

      Key points are :
      1) Keeping a high energy fight.

      2) Thinking well ahead of what the aircraft is, or what you want it to do.

      3) The required use of the speed brakes to alter or set up YOUR fight or flight, in reference to turning radius. Not just chopping the throttle, that is a only a good way to die.

      4) And for the self proclaimed, “Fighter Aces”, fly these models on the HARD setting, to truly test your skill.

      5) All F-86 and MiG-15 are uniform in performance. The aircraft preform as did the actual models of this noble era.

      6) The addition of armor to all aircraft end the ,“QUICK KILL”. These can be altered still to fit ones preference.

      A little history:

In 1988 the Mirage fleet was upgraded by IAI at the Maintenance Command (CAMAN) in Madrid Air Base. They received Kfir-C.7-style canards, flight-refuelling capability and a new navigation and fire-control systems. The fleet was further upgraded during 2001 to include night vision systems and laser-guided weapons. The resulting aircraft has been designated 5COAM. In October 1996 the remaining 5COR recon version was converted into a standard 5COAM, after having its recon equipment removed. By 2004, the FAC had lost seven Mirages in separate incidents.

The pack has been tested on a full merge install ( SF2, SF2E,SF2V, SF2I, Exp Pack 1, Exp pack 2, SF2NA). May not work properly on other installs( will atleast need SF2E to work)

Package contains skins and decals to represent all Indian Air force Hawker F.56 and F.56A Squadrons. Actual Indian AF Hunter Serial number & squadron decals included(selectable in the loadout screen).

This mod is meant as an addon specifically for the Indo-Pak mod and is meant to be an improvement of Paulo Panz's excellent IAF Hunter mods( to bring the loadouts and other features upto latest patch standards). The biggest change is that the Hunter now able to carry 25 & 60-lb rocket projectiles( something which Indian Hunters did frequently on strike missions).

      ----------------------
      Installation
      --------------------
This is assuming that you have the Indo-Pak mod installed. Since this shall be a complete replacement for the IAF Hunter variants, please either back up or delete Hunter F56 and Hunter56A folders in the aircraft & decals folder. Then drop the contents of the file in your X:\Users\YYYY\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2XX folder and let it overwrite

The F3H-2M (M for "Missile") was a version of the F3H Demon that was equipped to carry and launch the early AAM-N-2 Sparrow I radar beam-riding air-to-air missile. Two of the four 20mm cannons were often removed to same weight. Sometimes all were removed and it operated pure-missile!!
The F3H-2M was produced in parallel with the F3H-2N, but only 80 examples of the F3H-2M were built. It was modified to carry the AN/APG-51B radar set that was used to guide the Sparrow I missile. Four of these Sparrow missiles could be carried underneath the wings. This model of the Demon was NOT operationally upgraded to operate the new and improved Sparrow III missile. After 1962...the designation was changed to MF-3B Demon.

Being underpowered was its major flaw. The original Westinghouse J-40 never materialized and the J-71 was fitted instead. Pilots called the Demon the "Lead Sled" or just "Sled".

This is a major rework of the existing F3H-2M demon file into the 3 variants. Almost everything has been tweeked to make it more accurate in appearance and performance. The skins have been painstakingly researched and re-created. Every squadron which flew
this M model Demon is represented here including changes in their scheme over time. The flight model has been adjusted to fly like the Demon and give you performance worthy of its nickname. There are new Hangar and Loading Screens as well. All Bureau Numbers are
      accurate for this variant.

A new weapon model has been created for the early Sparrow I. It is TRUE in appearance and performance (at least as much was possible).

ONLY A FEW DEMON SQUADRONS OPERATED THE F3H-2M...they are represented in this package.

      SQUADRONS REPRESENTED:

      VF-24 "Corsairs" (2 skins)
      VF-61 "Jolly Rogers" (4 skins!)
      VF-112 (2 skins)
VF-121 "Pacemakers" the West Coast RAG (Replacement Air Group)
      VX-4 "Evaluators"
Point Mugu (Pacific Missile Test Center)
      NATC (Naval Air Test Center)

A read-me file is enclosed which contains installation instructions and credits.

    23. SF2 AD-2/3 Skyraider, Korean War

      SF2 AD2/3 Skyraider

= For Your Korean War Flying Pleasure =
      = For SF2, Full-4/5 Merged, (Reccomended/Preferred) =

*Note: you MUST have SF2:V as part of your merged install. This aircraft references the A-1H lod from SF2V,
and will =NOT= work without it.*

This is a mod of the 3rdWire A-1H Skyraider, to the earlier AD-2/3 version as used by the USN and USMC
during the Korean War. It was thrown together as an experiment some long time ago, and I thought you all would like to have it, "just because". The aircraft is supplied with 2 skins:

VA-35, "Black Panthers" US Navy, USS Leyte 1950 *
VMA-121 "Wolf Raiders", USMC, Pyongteak, 1950-53

This is a complete aircraft (well, minus the Stock Lod ™ of course!), with a new radar-equipped cockpit
by Dels. Skins are still in bmp format, making it usable in all SF2 merged game installs with access to the
A-1H.lod. The skins are new from my Home Grown Templates ™, in the 1950s Dark Gloss Navy Blue; all
markings are decals and are Randomized. BuNums are accurate for the aircraft variant depicted, but not for
the actual ones used by the squadrons; consider them 'generic' for that purpose.
The 'USMC50s' pilot figure, AN/APS-4 radar pod and engine sounds are included. The only weapon included is the 120 gallon drop tank. Bombs and rockets reference those WW2 units from the GunnyPak, and are NOT
included (simple edits can make the stock 3W ones usable, if one has Expansion Pak 1).

Wingfold is NOT activated, but the canopy is. Use the Usual Suspect (shift/0) to open and close it. All
      lighting is hisotrically correct.

As always, fairly easy to follow, highly detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them.
Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. Please.

      Good Hunting!

*note: VA-35 may have actually used AD-4s as opposed 2/3... my references were a little vague on the point*

    24. SF2 AD-4N/NA Skyraider, Armée de l'Air

      SF2 AD-4N/NA Skyraider, Armée de l'Air 4/3/2014

= For SF2, Full 5 Merged RECCOMENDED, at Latest Patch Level =

*At minimum, SF2:V is required, as this mod references the stock 3W A-1H lods.*

**Note: It is also =REQUIRED= you be at the lates (7/2013) SF2 patch level. The data ini supplied is FROM this last patch level. Those End Users NOT up to speed, may experience visual oddities on the aircraft, as some things have been changed over the last few patchs. No support is, or will be availalbe, to those End Users.**

This mod represents Skyraiders as used by the AdA in the early 1960s, and will give you a new, nationalized aircraft.
The aircrft represented here is from:

      EC 3/20 "Oranie"

as seen in Algeria in the early 1960s.

All skins are in jpg format. All markings, excepting the squadron color bands, are decals. Recal randomization is TRUE. The aircraft BuNums are 100% correct for those Skyraiders in French service, but should be considered "generic" in nature as they do not represent any individual aircraft in any particular squadron.
The canopy opens with the Standard Animatin Keystroke, Shift/0.

As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!! Also, give the "Note" section a read,

      Happy Landings!
