  1. LOTR RNZAF Kfir C.16 "Raiona"

    LOTR RNZAF Kfir C.16 "Raiona"

    -- For SF2, Full-4 Merged =ONLY!!!=

This mod creates a fully new aircraft, an EXTENSIVELY upgraded Kfir "C16" as might be used by the RNZAF.

It =REQUIRES= a Full-4 Merged install, or at the very least, SF2:I and SF2:V for the various and sundry bits used herein. If you do NOT have the minimum required game installs, DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS MOD, as you won't be able to use it.

3 new skins, (partly redrawn from stock) and their attendant decals are included. No aircraft or cockpit parts (lods, bmps/tga/jpg) are included, as they use all 'internal' bits pulled from the various game cat files (in a similiar fashion as the Panama Mirage IIIPN).

The 3 skins "represent" some of the aspects of the "Forces of Good" from the LOTR series:

Rohan1 = Shieldmaidens (a squadron of mostly female pilots!!!)
    Rohan2 = Riders of Rohan
    Gondor = Stewards of Gondor

    Each with a different fin-flash.

Modifications to the base model include (but not limited to), addition of landing lights, correcting the positions of the taillights, activating the canopy via an manual animation key (use Shift/0 to open and close), massive upgrading of the avionics suite (included new jammers and CM dispensers). Other mods include the addition of a laser designator for prescision strike, new A-A & A-G radars, and many other 'hidden' changes.

NOTE: most, if not all, of the weapons used are STOCK. With possibly 2 exceptions, and they're not presently used.

As always, READ the enclosed readme for full, detailed instructions. This package has been broken down into the various folders that SF2 needs, to make it a LOT easier to install (read: drag and drop).

    Have fun with it!!
I sure did, when building it!!

  2. Bell D-188 (F-109 / XF3L) Projects for SF2

Bell D-188 (XF-109 / XF3L) “What if” Projects for Thirdwire Strike Fighter 2

I am big fan of Bell D-188 projects and when I saw XF-109 for SF2, I got inspired to expand XF-109.  I quote the statement from author of XF-109 mod for SF2:

"Had it been built, the Bell D-188A project would have been one of the most unorthodox aircraft to fly, and certainly the most unusual in the US Air Force inventory." - Veltro2k, creator of XF-109 mods for SF1 / SF2.

I want to give Bell D-188 the opportunities to be flown by anyone virtually in simulation, no matter how flawed she may be.  I decided to work on both Bell D-188 (XF-109 for USAF) and D-188A (XF3L for US Navy).

I want to give my big thank to Veltro2K for creating XF-109 in the first place and Wrench for upgrading XF-109 mod for SF2, especially for sharing his updated files with me.  I, too, want to thank Combatace community, all of you are reasons why I worked on this project.

And at the same time, please keep in mind that there are several files that are from other mods, I am giving credits to all modders who created each materials that is used in Bell D-188 projects:

    CREDITS:

Note: If it is required that I must take any of the files off from D-188 Projects, please let me know.  I will fix it ASAP and I intend to respect everyone’s work, especially giving credits to everyone who is involved with D-188 projects.

To my friends and Combatace community:
I truly thank everyone who got involved with D-188 projects, all of you are reasons why I am able to finish this project.  All of you rocks!

    Bell XF-109 for SF2:
I give my big thank to Veltro2k for creating XF-109 (D-188) mod for SF1 and SF2.  ( http://combatace.com/files/file/13169-bell-xf-109/ ) He is the reason why I have the opportunities to work on mod projects for SF2, along with Combatace community.

    Bell XF-109 updates:
I express my many thanks to Wrench for being very involved with D-188 projects.  He has helped me lot with the mod, especially sending me his updated data.ini files for XF-109. ( http://combatace.com/topic/74104-f-109-tweeks-pak-for-sf2/ )

    Sound effects:
J85-GE.wav and J85-GE_AB.wav are directly from Macelena’s F-5E mods for SF2 ( http://combatace.com/files/file/10446-mirage-factory-f-5e-for-sf2/ ), I truly thank him for the sound files for J85-GE.  Note: J85-GE.wav and J85-GE_AB.wav are renamed from F5Engine.wav and F5AB.wav. The reason why I renamed the files is because there are so many sound files from different mods for SF2.  I hope that renamed files will make it easier to find in sound folder, just for in case, if anyone need to find them.

    Afterburner effects:
Afterburner came from Mirage Factory F-8 Crusader Superpack for SF2.  ( http://combatace.com/files/file/10646-mirage-factory-f-8-crusader-super-pack/ ) and I truly thank to everyone who is involved creating F-8 Crusader Superpack for SF2.

    To everyone who helped me:

Wrench à Thank you for the help with feedback involved, it helped lot with D-188 projects.

76.IAP-Blackbird à Thank you for your help with D-188 projects.

FalconC45 à Thank you so much for helping testing the mods.

    Instruction:

    1)    Extract D-188_Project and you will see 4 folders:
    a.     Effects
    b.     Sounds
    c.     STOL Versions
    d.     VSTOL Versions
(Note:  For F/A-109B (USMC), I highly recommend V/STOL version for taking off / landing on USMC ships.  There are still STOL version, for in case, if you still prefer to go with STOL method.

    2)    Drop Effects and Sounds folder into main Strike Fighter 2 mod folder.
    3)    There are two different versions of Bell D-188 (F-109s and F/A-109s):
    a.     STOL version – All of aircraft have all 6 jet engines operation, especially when you are in STOL mode.  Because all engines from rotating engines and main fuselage engines are running at the same time, it is impossible to performance VTOL mode.
    b.     V/STOL version – All of aircraft only have rotating engine operation.  I divided the thrusts from main fuselage engines and added them to rotating engines, to make up for main fuselage engines not having any thrusts.  (See “Flight model” for more information about flight model for VSTOL version) This enable you to be able to performance V/STOL and VTOL mode.  However, I removed afterburner effects from main fuselage engines (except for exhaust smokes).  It does not look right if you are in VTOL mode with afterburner running from fuselage.  But you still can re-enable afterburner for main fuselage engines with few steps.  Look at bottom of README for the instruction for re-enabling afterburner effects.
    4)    For your information, XF-109s / F-109s are USAF version, XF3L / F/A-109s are US Navy and US Marine Corps version.
    5)    Go into either STOL or VSTOL version of folders, drop Objects folder into main Strike Fighter 2 mod folder.

    Information:

    1)    XF-109 is based on D-188 project which is historically designed for US Air Force.  F-109s variants aircraft are fictional “What if” if US Air Force decided to accept XF-109.
    2)    XF3L is based on D-188 project which is historically designed for US Navy.  F/A-109s variants are fictional “What if” US Navy and US Marine Corp decided to accept XF3L.

    EXTRA:

    1)    Re-enable Afterburner effects for STOL version:
    a.     For anyone who want to re-able afterburner effects for STOL version, open aircraft data.ini file and find this line of code:

    // Engine - Fuselage ----------------------------------------------------------

    b.     Under both [FusEngineLeft] and [FusEngineRight], you will see this code:

    //AfterburnerEmitterName=F8AfterburnerEmitter

    c.     Remove “//” from the code, so it looks like this:

    AfterburnerEmitterName=F8AfterburnerEmitter

    d.     Now you have working afterburner effects back in main fuselage engines, even when you are hovering in V/STOL version of aircraft.

    Texture / Skins:

For now, D-188 (F-109s/F3Ls) projects do not have any additional skins for each aircraft, so if anyone have plans to create skins for D-188 projects, please let me know.  Any more skins for F-109s / F3Ls are always welcomed.

    Flight model:

I am not expert with the flight mode.  If anyone can help with flight model, the helps are always welcomed for D-188 (F-109s/F3Ls) projects!  I did the basic flight model tweaking, in order, to make F-109s/F3L feel more realistic when flying them in SF2, theoretically.  The flight model is originally created by Veltro2K and updated by Wrench. Here are following features I tweaked in flight model:

    1)    Slow roll rate = With two engines being mounted on each tip of wings, it means lot of weights.  And at the same time, with small wings from D-188s aircraft like F-104, in my opinion, it means slower roll rate.  However, as I stated, I am not an expert with flight model and any helps with flight model overhaul is always welcomed.

    2)    Fixed sensitive rudder = The rudder was very sensitive so I reduced it lot, in order, for D-188s to have small movement when using rudder.

    3)    Engines overhaul = I have done lot of works on each engine powers for each aircraft.  This is the math I used to convert lb of thrust to Netwon:

Note: XXX is any given numbers.

XXX lb (thrust) = XXX lb x 4.45 = XXX (thrust) Newton

And keep in mind that STOL / VSTOL version of each aircraft engine have different thrusts.  STOL have accuracy thrusts in newton for each six engine while VSTOL have increased thrusts for four engines.

    Here are example:

    XF-109 (STOL version)

Engine #1: 2,400 LB (DRY)        3,600 LB (AB)
Engine #2: 2,400 LB (DRY)        3,600 LB (AB)
Engine #3: 2,400 LB (DRY)        3,600 LB (AB)
Engine #4: 2,400 LB (DRY)        3,600 LB (AB)
Engine #5: 2,400 LB (DRY)        3,600 LB (AB)
Engine #6: 2,400 LB (DRY)        3,600 LB (AB)

    XF-109 (V/STOL version)

Note:  Because Engine #5 / #6 which is main fuselage engine having no thrusts, I divided them and moved to engine #1 to engine #2.

Engine #5 + engine #6 = Total engine thrust divided by four, then add them to each engine.

Engine #5: 2,400 LB (DRY)        3,600 LB (AB)
Engine #6: 2,400 LB (DRY)        3,600 LB (AB)

    Total Engine thrust: 4,800 LB (DRY)   7,200 (AB) / 4 = 1,200 LB (DRY)   1,800 (AB)

    Engine #1: 2,400 LB (DRY)        3,600 LB (AB) + 1,200 LB (DRY)   1,800 (AB)
    Engine #2: 2,400 LB (DRY)        3,600 LB (AB) + 1,200 LB (DRY)   1,800 (AB)
    Engine #3: 2,400 LB (DRY)        3,600 LB (AB) + 1,200 LB (DRY)   1,800 (AB)
    Engine #4: 2,400 LB (DRY)        3,600 LB (AB) + 1,200 LB (DRY)   1,800 (AB)

    Result:
Note: Engine #1 to #4 is rotating engines while Engine #5 to #6 is main fuselage engines.

Engine #1: 3,600 LB (DRY)        5,400 LB (AB)
Engine #2: 3,600 LB (DRY)        5,400 LB (AB)
Engine #3: 3,600 LB (DRY)        5,400 LB (AB)
Engine #4: 3,600 LB (DRY)        5,400 LB (AB)
Engine #5: 0 LB (DRY)  0 LB (AB)
Engine #6: 0 LB (DRY)  0 LB (AB)

V/STOL version have fuselage engines thrust moved to each rotating engines, to make up for having no thrusts in fuselage engines.

Here is the date about engines that each aircraft uses:

Aircraft (Service Date) Engine               Thrust in LB (Dry / AB - Afterburner)

    XF-109               (1961 - 1969)   J85-GE-5           2,400 LB (DRY) 3,600 LB (AB)

  3. [Fictional] Hawker Harrier Mk.59 'Argentina'

Hawker Harrier Mk.59 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
This is a very simple mod of wpnssgt's cracking little AV-8S 'Matador' to give a fictional Harrier Mk.59 as it might have appeared in service with the Comando de Aviación Naval Argentina and fictional markings are included for 3ra Escuadrilla Aeronaval de Caza y Ataque (3rd Fighter/Attack Squadron).

    INSTRUCTIONS
    1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the Harrier59 folder into your Aircraft folder.
    2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the Harrier59 folder into your Decals folder.
    3. From the WEAPONS folder drag and drop the Tank_AV8S_COAN folder into your Weapons folder.
    That's it!

    CREDITS
Massive thanks to wpnssgt for the 3D model. Having only joined this community in early 2008 I'm guessing that this predates the Harrier contained in Wings Over Europe and, if so, then fair play - it's a beaut! As I've said before, "there's gold in them thar archives"!
Thanks also to C5 for the FM and to Sundowner for the skin.
As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim.
And, finally, thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community.
    Regards
    Spinners

    HISTORY

While the "Western Infidel War " was in progress tensions between the Imperial State of Paran, and the Dhimari Principality, were at a high level, with small skirmishes and clashes on the borders. Paran managed to acquire some Fiat G55's from various sources ( not all of them legal) and equipped its number 1 Squadron, named the Huntress squadron, with these aircraft. 1 Squadron used these Fiats until 1947 when they re equipped with the S-199 SAIF, the remaining G 55's going into storage. Along with these aircraft and the S-99 ( Bf-109 G10) Parani fighter pilots learned their trade, and to great effect. The aircraft was given the name RAHMI or Lancer

    Installation and blah blah

I have taken the existing Fiat G 55 and repainted it, you will noticed that the original marking ( Italian ) have been over painted and the Parani markings placed over the top, this has been done on purpose, to make these aircraft look like they were ex Italian airforce, and still retained their original markings, personally I think it looks pretty good done this way, so if you can see the original Italian insignia on the wings and tail, this is done on purpose, and not because of any rubbish painting on my behalf. I wasn't going to be doing any early aircraft for Paran/Dhimar, but a couple of people have expressed an interest in earlier aeroplanes, so this is the first one. As with all my uploads I hopefully have included everything you need , including the guns, as apparently some of you guys have had issues with guns not working, so now you have 'em, they will work !! I also advise you update your Soundlist files to reflect the sounds I have included with this package.

    CREDITS !!!
Credit for the original aircraft By Veltro Cockpit by Kesselbrut, and some other bloke, pilot by Geezer ( and very nice it is too !! ) Flight model by Charles, everything else by yours truly.
keep your mk 1's peeled, for more Parani lovliness................ENJOY !!

  5. [Fictional] SAAB/Mitsubishi JAS39EJ Gripen

This is a mod of the JAS-39C from the Gripen Team to make it look like fighterplane from the japanese air self defense force.

    BACKGROUND:
After having had good experiences during the first joint venture between SAAB and Mitsubishi and the high grade of acception of the japanese Draken by the JASDF-Pilots, the ministry of defense initiated a new joint venture. The swedish Gripen was now to be "nipponized". Pilots of the JASDF went to Sweden to fly the Gripen and push her to the limit, testing her capabilities. The Pilots were amazed how easy it was to fly the Gripen.

Back in Japan, the Pilots reported their experiences to their superiors what led to an order of 120 planes, mainly single-seater. The first planes arrived during the first months of 2006, were they had to undergo changes in electronics, adapting them to japanese JASDF-Standards. The 8th Hikotai and the 305th Hikotai were the first squadrons receiving the Gripen. This plane was the first wearing the new JAMPAT-Camo in service.

  6. [Fictional] Mirage 2000BE (CB.27) "Espada" (Sword)

A Mod of the Mirage 2000B from Amokfloo and JAT81500 to make it look like a fictional fighter for the spanish air force.

    BACKGROUND
According to EESP (European Economic Stability Protocol) signed in the middle of 2012 in Brussels by the 27 partners of the EU, the countries with a high rate of debt (Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal etc.) had to execute all measures necessary in order to reduce their debts. In article 12 "About the defense of the homeland", the countries of the EU constituted that all redundant units had to be dissolved and the equipment to be sold.

Furthermore, the armies of the affected countries had to change their "non-european" equipment for european equipment. Spain had therefore to sell their US fighterplanes and replace them by european ones. In exchange, the equipment will be cheaper than for standard customers from outside the EU.

The F-18Cs got sold back to the US. The mayor manufacturers of fighters in Europe were Dassault, Saab and the Eurofighter Corporation. The spanish air force decided to order the Mirage 2000 for the Ala 46, stationed on the Canary Islands. Two wings were equipped with the Mirage 2000-5F, renamed E (local designation: C-27) and one wing received the Mirage 2000B, renamed BE (local designation: CB-27)

  7. [Fictional] BF-5A 'Freedom Fighter'

BF-5A Freedom Fighter for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2

This is a very simple mod of 'The Mirage Factory' F-5A/F-5C to create a fictional export version in service with the Belgian Air Force during the 1970-1991 timeline with markings for No.1, No.2, No.8 and No.42 smaldeel (the latter unit tasked with reconnaissance).

    BACKSTORY

During the first half of the 1960's, Belgium and the Netherlands both started looking for a replacement for their F-84F Thunderstreak fighter-bombers and the Lockheed T-33 advanced trainer for delivery around 1970. After both countries had written their individual requirements 12 potential aircraft were studied resulting in a shortlist consisting of the A-7 Corsair, the A-4 Skyhawk, the CL-984 (a version of the F-104), the Mirage 5 and the F-5A. In the mood of the times, Europe was awash with joint requirements and collaborative programmes so it was quite appropriate for the two nations to work together for maximum standarisation so the BAF and KLu issued 'Specification TFT70' a joint requirement for a tactical fighter and advanced trainer.

After exhaustive testing and evaluation both airforces reported to their respective Ministers of Defence, that with some adjustments, the F-5A fighter-bomber and the F-5B advanced trainer were their preferred choice. However, the Belgians had a problem in that Wallonia (the French-speaking part of the country) preferred a French plane (i.e. the Mirage) but after protracted political discussions including the promise of a good share in the license production of the airframe by SABCA and the engines by FN (both based in Wallonia) the F-5 was chosen. In the Netherlands Fokker was chosen to participate in the manufacturing program.

However, during this time Northrop had increased the price of the baseline F-5A by no less than 11% leading both countries to make a deal with Canadair who had recently acquired a production license for their CF-5 derivative. With its more powerful Orenda J85-15 engines and a more sophisticated navigation system this was a step in the direction the BAF and the KLu needed. With further modifications including more advanced avionics, moving-map navigation, radar altimeter, SAAB BT9 bombing computer, bigger underwing droptanks, a two-position nose wheel strut, extra auxiliary louvre-type air inlets for take off and manoeuvering flaps it resulted in the most advanced F-5A ever produced. Compared to the F-5A the more advanced BF/NF-5A promised to be a superb multi-role tactical fighter with a useful air-to-air capability due to it's 50% increase in turn rate over the 'vanilla' F-5A.

In early 1968 both Belgium and the Netherlands each ordered 80 single-seat BF/NF-5A's and 20 two-seat BF/NF-5B's advanced trainers for delivery during 1970 and by the beginning of 1972 both countries had 4 front-line squadrons and an OCU operational in service. The aircraft were generally popular with pilots and ground-crew alike and served both airforces well before slowly being retired during the latter part of the 1980's and by the early 1990's most BF/NF-5's had been retired with most being sold on to Greece, Turkey and Venezuela.

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the BF-5A folder into your Aircraft folder.

    2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the BF-5A folder into your main Decals folder.

  9. [Fictional] RAF SEAC Douglas Skyraider FB.3

Douglas Skyraider FB.3 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
This is a simple mod of the stock 'AI' Thirdwire A-1H to give a flyable 'what if' RAF Skyraider FB.3 with markings for No.6 Squadron, No.8 Squadron and No.112 Squadron in a mid-1950's to mid-1960's timeline.
Whilst this mod is meant for Strike Fighters 2 is does require you to have Strike Fighter 2: Vietnam so that you have the necessary Third Wire A-1H LOD's that are, of course, not included here.

    INSTRUCTIONS
    1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the SkyraiderFB3 folder into your Aircraft folder.
    2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the SkyraiderFB3 folder into your Decals folder.
    That's it!

  10. [Fictional] Ilyushin IL-28 'Beagle' Fuerza Aérea Argentina

Ilyushin IL-28 'Beagle' for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
    This is a very simple mod of the stock Third Wire IL-28 to give a flyable (and fictional) IL-28 in service with the Fuerza Aérea Argentina  with markings for;
Grupo 1 de Bombardeo in the silver scheme as delivered.
Grupo 2 de Bombardeo in the later 'sea grey' scheme selected for 'over-water' operations.
I've put a patch.psd 'template' in there in case you'd like to switch things around and have both in silver or both in grey.

    COCKPIT
I've used the A-4B pit as I think the cockpit framing looks quite suitable and the pit is nice and low-tech. The disadvantages are that there is no radar (not that the Beagle's radar was of much use) and that the A-4B pit is, of course, single-enginned. However, you can easily switch to another stock pit or go third-party.

    INSTRUCTIONS
    1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the IL-28_FAA folder into your Aircraft folder.
    2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the IL-28_FAA folder into your Decals folder.
    3. From the PILOTS folder drag and drop the PILOT_COAN folder into your Pilots folder.
    That's it!

  13. Blackburn Buccaneer S.22 - RAAF

This is the Blackburn Buccaneer for the Royal Australian Air Force. This package consists of complete aircraft.
    Historical Background
When considering its Canberra replacement, the Australian Government looked at a variety of options, including the Mirage IV, the A-5 Vigilante, and the TFX (F-111). Britain's Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral of the Fleet Lord Louis Mountbatten pushed the Blackburn Buccaneer. The Buccaneer did not come close to meeting RAAF requirements, but what if it was adopted?
Given the lower price of the Buccaneer, we would have had a more than 24 - perhaps twice that. Enough for 3 squadrons easily. Deliveries of RAAF Buccaneers began in 1965 to 82 Wing at RAAF Amberley, Queensland. The RAAF Buccaneers were given the mark number Strike Mark 22. They were generally similar to the Royal Navy's Buccaneer S.2. An ILS was fitted, and some of the carrier-deck equipment was deleted, but the hydraulic folding wings were retained. In addition to the British twin bomb rack, the BRU-42 Triple Ejector Rack was procured, and US bombs such as the Mark 82 and M117 were tested.
3 RAAF squadrons were equipped with Buccaneers. 1 Squadron was the primary strike squadron, 2 Squadron also performed the strike role, and was intended for forward defence if necessary, and 6 Squadron was tasked with conversion training and reconnaissance. 6 Squadron also backed up 1 Squadron.
2 Squadron was the first RAAF Buccaneer unit to see combat. It was deployed in 1967 to Phan Rang Air Base in South Vietnam to support the B-57 Canberras of the USAF's 35th Tactical Fighter Wing. Between 1967 and 1972, 2 Squadrons Buccaneers performed thousands of missions in South Vietnam. With the addition of electronic countermeasures pods, RAAF Buccaneers were authorised to operate over North Vietnam. 2 Squadron Buccaneers also provided direct support to the Australian Task Force in Phuoc Tuy Province. 2 Squadron lost 1 Buccaneer in an accident, and sustained no losses due to enemy action, though a number of aircraft were damaged by ground fire.
Upon their return to Australia, the Buccaneers moved towards a precision strike role with laser guided bombs, and maritime strike with the AGM-84 Harpoon. A number of ex-Royal Navy extra aircraft were purchased to replace attrition. Progressive upgrades kept the force operating efficiently.
In 1990, Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein ordered the invasion of Kuwait. 2 Squadron's Buccaneers formed part of the RAAF's contribution to Operation Damask. RAAF Buccaneers attacked Iraqi ground forces, airfields, and communication and transport infrastructure. Unlike RAF Buccaneers, the RAAF Buccaneers dropped bombs from their first day. The RAAF's Buccaneers used laser guided bombs, and introduced the AGM-84E SLAM into RAAF service. The Buccaneers also took part in the Battle of Bubiyan using Harpoon missiles against the Iraqi Navy. 3 RAAF Buccaneers were lost to ground fire, with 2 aircrew killed.
2 Squadron's return to Australia heralded the twilight of the Buccaneer's Australian service. In 1992, the Australian Government dropped plans to upgrade the Buccaneers and began to look for a replacement. The Buccaneer would continue in the strike role until 1996, and a small number would be used for reconnaissance until 1998.
The options to replace the Buccaneer were the Panavia Tornado, and the F-15E Strike Eagle - but those are skins for another time, or another modder.
    Package
4 full aircraft, plus bomb racks, and bonus materials. The aircraft have been edited to use US weapons, and to allow the BRU-42 Triple Ejector Rack. Internal carriage of laser guided bombs is provided. 2 500 or 1000 lb Paveway bombs can be carried. The bomb bays will also carry 4 M117, or Mark 82.

  14. [Fictional] IAI/McDonnellDouglas Ze'ev (Wolf)

This is a mod of Bobrocks Av-8B+ to make it look like a plane from the israeli air force.

THIS MOD IS FOR A FULL MERGED INSTALL OR AT LEAST SF2:E AND SF2:I. OTHERWISE THE PLANE WON'T FUNCTION PROPERLY.

    BACKGROUND:
After Desert Storm in 1991, the high command of the israeli air force recognized the need of a carrier-based strike force to improve their reaction capabilities in a modern conflict. For this aim, the purchase of two french aircraft carriers of the Clemenceau-class was planned. As aircraft for the carriers, the IDF wanted an adaptated version of the AV-8B+.

In 1994, the carrier purchase was cancelled due to budget restrictions, but the adapted Harrier called Ze'ev was kept and did service in the 193th Squadron.

  15. [Fictional] Curtiss P-40N Warhawk 'IDF'

Curtiss P-40N 'IDF' for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2

This is simple mod of Raven's P-40N20CU to give a fictional P-40N 'Warhawk' as it might have appeared in service with the newly-created Israeli Defence Force Air Force in 1948.

    BACKSTORY

Following the Israeli Declaration of Independence on May 14th, 1948 David Ben-Gurion declared the establishment of a Jewish state to be known as the State of Israel. Within two weeks the Israeli Air Force was formed mainly using foreign volunteer pilots (including many World War II veterans) flying a variety of obsolete and war surplus aircraft sourced by various means. Among these were 36 P-40N Warhawk fighter aircraft delivered in crates from the United States and alongside the Avia S-199's and Supermarine Spitfire LF Mk IX's they formed the backbone of the early Israeli Air Force.

Whilst the Warhawks were not ready to help in attempting to halt the Egyptian advance from the South during early June 1948 they were soon in operation in the close support role and also bolstered the air defences around Tel Aviv and were successful in shooting down several Egyptian Air Force DC-3's and Spitfires. The Warhawks were also tasked with escorting the handful of Israeli B-17 bombers but were mainly committed to the support of IDF ground forces. By December 1948 IDF ground forces were ready to commence Operation Assaf to take control of the Western Negev and the Warhawks helped in stopping an Egyptian counterattack and helped prevent another counterattack when a Warhawk flying an aerial reconnaissance sortie revealed Egyptian preparations and the IDF was able to launch a pre-emptive strike.

Following the ceasefire the remaining Warhawks were gathered together to re-equip No.101 who operated the type until the end of 1956 playing a minor role in Operation Kadesh by escorting Israeli Air Force DC-3s dropping Israeli paratroopers behind Egyptian lines at the Mitla Pass and Et-Tur.

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the P-40N_IDF folder into your Aircraft folder.

    2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the P-40N_IDF folder into your main Decals folder.

    3. From the WEAPONS folder drag and drop the AN-M81 and TANK75_IDF folders into your main Weapons folder.

At this point it might be a good idea to change the pilot to whatever you've got in your install suitable for the early post-war period.

  17. Dassault/FMA Rafale EA-2/DA

    BACKSTORY:
In 2014, with the Mirage retirement in mind, Argentina started a competition to decide wich plane was going to replace it in the near future. Due to the strategic position of the country and the abundance of resources, the contest ended up having various options: the F/A-18E/F, the Tejas MK1 and MK2, the Gripen, the Su-30, the MiG-35, the J-10CE and the Rafale, all with unique variants to fill the needs of the Argentinian Air Force.
The chosen plane was the Rafale. The Argentinian Ministry of Defence agreed on 18 planes, 12 Rafale EA-2s and 4 Rafale DAs. The Rafale EA-2 is an advanced variant of the Rafale F4, equipped with AESA radar and Conformal Fuel Tanks. It can fire the MBDA MICA missiles, along with some russian ordenance. This is because Dassault, Argentina and Russia agreed to replace the british parts with russian parts in the exchange of Argentina buying and equipping the Rafale with russian precise guided munitions.
The Argentinian Rafale participated in various exercises with NATO and eastern side countries, like the "ECOAS I", where the Argentinian pilots showed its great ability to fly low, "sinking" the USS George Bush.
Special thanks to JAT81500, for releasing the Dassault Rafale F4,  wich is used as the Dassault Rafale EA-2
And ThirdWire, for this amazing sim, that I love and play almost everyday...

I hope you enjoy this mod as much as I do.
    Have a good flight!
    Good hunting!

Douglas Skyraider A-1J 'COAN' for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2

This is a simple mod of the stock Thirdwire A-1J to give a flyable 'what if' Argentine Skyraider with markings for 2nd Escuadrilla Aeronaval de Caza y Ataque, Comando de Aviación Naval Argentina as it might of appeared in the late 1950's and early 1960's.

This mod requires you to have Strike Fighters 2:Vietnam so that you have the necessary Third Wire A-1 LOD's that are not included here.

  19. [Fictional] MiG-29EE Ejército del Aire

Mikoyan Gurevych MiG-29EE Ejército del Aire for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2

I modded the MiG-29 from The Mirage Factory to make it look like a fictional fighter for the spanish air force.

    BACKGROUND
The cooperation with IAI in developing the MiG-29I Shu'Al demonstrated the Mikoyan Gurevych OKB the possiblities and rentability of exporting the plane to the West with some modifications.

As a modern and at the same time relatively cheap fighter compared to other western planes, the MiG-29EE was the result of the adaptation of the plane to the needs of the western air forces. The abbreviation EE stands for 'Europe Export'. Since the cold war was over and the "enemy" was no longer existing, Mikoyan Gurevych OKB had no problems in offering one of the best planes of the former Soviet Union to european countries.

Spain did not hesitate to equip the 462nd squadron of the Ala 46 stationed on the Canary Islands with this fighter and relocate the F-18s to the mainland.

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Drop the folders into your MODS Folder. If asked to overwrite, click yes.

    CREDITS

All credit belongs to ALL the members of The Mirage Factory for their fantastic work they did with this model.
Special credit goes to Oliver Anguille for his effort and hard work. May he rest in peace.

Also big thanks to dast24 for porting the plane to SF2-Standards.

Old readme from the original SFP1-Model is included.

For any further questions don't hesitate to contact me.

  21. CF-4E Phantom II - Canadian Forces - Part 2

    Introduction

Here is McDonnell Douglas CF-110E Phantom II for the Canadian Forces Air Command. It is based on ravenclaw_007's new F-4E. This package contains the CF-4E, skins in Canadian Voodoo Grey and SEA camouflage.

    History

During the 1960s, the Royal Canadian Air Force commenced a search for a more affordable fighter to supplement the CF-101 Voodoo, and the CF-104 Starfighter. The RCAF advised the government to acquire the F-4 Phantom II. The Canadian Government accepted the RCAF's advice, but McDonnell made a counter proposal. McDonnell's executives suggested that the Canadian Government order enough Phantoms to replace their entire fighter force, in exchange McDonnell would buy back the Voodoos, Orenda would manufacture J79 engines. The Government agreed to order enough Phantoms to equip nine squadrons, plus an operational training unit. The high rates of F-4 production at the time would allow for fairly rapid delivery beginning in 1968. The official Canadian designation for the Phantom was CF-110, but it was universally known as the CF-4.

The Canadian Forces Air Command fielded four Phantom squadrons for NORAD, two for NATO at CFB Baden-Sollingen, three more NATO reinforcement squadorns in Canada, and an Operational Training Unit.

In Europe, the CF-4 undertook the roles of close support, battlefield air superiority, and strike with nuclear and conventional weapons. Beginning in 1972, the reconnaissance role was filled by twenty four new RF-4E distributed among the NATO squadrons.

In 1981, 414 Squadron was made operational with twenty CF-4G Wild Weasel aircraft.

Canada's Phantoms saw combat in the Gulf War, and in Bosnia. After the Bosnian War, Canada decided to replace the CF-4 with the F/A-18C/D. The Phantom began to be phased out of CAF service in 1995, and was finally retired in 1998. Most of the surviving Canadian Phantoms were converted into QF-4 target drones.

    Contents
    This package contains the following:
    CF-4E-75
    CF-4E-78
Weapons, from effects Ravenclaw_007's F-4E Phantom II
    Sounds from Comrad's F-4C(67) Phantom II skin-soundMOD

Part 1 contained the CF-4E, CF-4E_72, and CF-4E_72 MIDAS & Hard Wing. Part 3 will contain the CF-4E-79, and CF-4E-86.

    Installation

Copy all folders into your mod folder. Overwrite when prompted.

    Loadouts

While Part 1 had special NORAD loadouts, the Phantoms in Part 2 have a single set of air-to-air loadouts, with AIM-7, AIM-9, and ECM pods.

    Credits
    TK: SF2 series
    Ravenclaw_007: F-4E Phantom II
    Sundowner: original templates
    Comrad: sounds

If there are any suggestions, bugs, or if anyone has been left out of the credits, please contact me, and I will make the necessary changes.

    Enjoy!

  23. J-2 "Dabur"

    J-2 "DABUR"
    History.

In 1955, the Imperial Parani Defence Ministry placed an order with China to purchase Chinese built Mig15Bis ( J-2 ) At the time they had Czech military advisors, who passed on information about the modification programme to their own S-103 airframes to give more potency, and a better ground attack capability.
The Parani aerospace bureau, quickly copied the specifications to the new J-2's. The resulting aircraft was designated J-2 " Dabur" (Dabur = Wasp) These aircraft were then passed onto the military for flight evaluation, and the results were mostly positive. It was decided by Parani High Command, that as the Air Force were going to be equipped with the J-3 (Mig 17) in the near future, that the J-2 airframes would be assigned to I.P.A.F.A. (Imperial Parani Army Forward Aviation ) units to supplement their existing fleet of IL-10's .
These aircraft soldiered on until 1970, when a replacement was being looked into by the Defence Ministry.

    Installation and blah blah

I have included ( I hope) everything needed in one package, ie. the aircraft ( you will need the Mig-15bis installed already to allow it to work) decals, weapons, pilots, and sounds. I have also included a SQADRONLIST.INI, and a NATIONS.INI to allow these birds to show up as a nation and with the correct markings. I have dropped all the respective files into their correct folders so, all you will need to do is unRAR/ZIP/7Z to your saved game folder, and allow overwrites ( if any) I have tested this on a full merged all bells and whistles SF2 so I assume it will work on unmerged too.as I said everything is there to get her up and running, just drop it all as is into your saved game folder and off you fly.

    CREDITS !!!
This is a revamp of PauloPanz's Mig15bis SB so credit for the original model and workings to Mr Paulopanz, and to anyone else involved in the original aircraft. I have just played around and tweaked a few things. also added Czech weapons as loadouts instead of the bog standard FAB's etc.
I could not have done this for you to enjoy without the initial hard work by the likes of Mr Wrench, Mr Paulopanz and all the other fantastic modders on here to numerous to mention, I am an ametuer just dipping my toe in a very deep pond !!!

    FINALLY !!! ENJOY !!!

  25. Lockheed Martin/HAL F-16S

    Lockheed Martin/HAL F-16S for Strike Fighters 2

This is my mod based on the Turkish F-16D Block 50+ by the Viper Team. It was inspired by the plastic model found on this site: http://www.whatifmod...ic,33541.0.html

This mod contains all the necessary pilots, weapons, effects and sounds.

    Instrucions:

    1. Unzip the zip file to any location.
    2. Copy and paste the contents of the F-16S folder to your mod folder and overwrite when asked.

    Credits:

The Viper Team and the others (see here: http://combatace.com...the-viper-team/ ) for the plane itself and all the contents of their F-16C B50/52 pack.

    Notes:

The plastic model is actually F-16I Sufa, but the new F-16I hasn't been released yet so I decided to use the F-16D B50+ model.

    Legal stuff:

Contents of this mod can't be used in any payware. They can be used under the Combatace freeware rules.

    Enjoy flying this one!
