  1. SF2 WW2 Northern Europe/North Sea Terrain (v2)

    WW2 Northern Europe Terrain for SF2

    - For SF2, Any & All (*Full-4/5 Merged Reccomended*)

    This is an all NEW map, covering the Northern UK (Scotland, Orkneys, Shetlands), southern Norway, Denmark, parts of Sweden, Germany, The Netherlands, and LARGE parts of the North Sea.

    This map makes use of =BOTH= the LimitedNations and AllowedMission statements. There are =NO= CAS or other Ground Attack mission tasking, other than Armed Recon and Anti-Shipping. Strike, of course, for the bombers, remains (exceedingly!) valid. Armed Recon mission are constrained to within approximately 100km of the coastlines (more or less) for BOTH sides, due to the long over-water distances involved in some parts of the map.

    Like the last 2 ETO terrain remods, there is an extensive road network on both sided of the channel (lesser in Norway, of course, due to the tiling constraints and fjords!). As this map was (relatively) designed for anti-shipping strikes, you'll find plenty of them to keep you busy. Plus all the other allowed missions, for both sides.

    *Geophysical Disclaimer: some rivers and other water features may not follow their Real Life ™ courses, or be placed in their Real Life ™ locations, or exist at all. Several cities and other physical features (mountains, vallies, coastlines, forests, roads, etc) may also fall into this classification; Some populated places may exist only as a "named place" on the map (even some fairly large, and strategicly important ones). This was done for operational reasons. Many airfields/airports, some of historical significance, may also be non existant or not placed in the Real World ™ locations due to tiling constraints. Bridges may also not be in their Real World ™ locations, or run in their historical directions.*

    When in-game, you'll see "Northern Europe, WW2" on the terrain selection dropdown window.

    The bare minimum of Ground Objects are supplied; you'd be well adivsed to have the EAWEuro WW2 and Battle of Britain Rebuilds, with their included objects in you ETO mods folder. Other objects are also needed, listed in the "Other Stuff Needed" Section below.

    As always, unzip this to a temp folder or your desktop, and you'll have access to the rest of the readme for it's instructions. It's reccomended you read the document through after unzipping, but -BEFORE- installing. As always, the Notes and Other Nonesense section may make for entertaining reading, as it explains a few "oddities" you WILL experience!

    Please also read and -OBEY- the New Standard Usage Discalimer ™, as it's been changed slightly to reflect a change in my policy. It's listed at the bottom, in the Legal Statement Section, with the URL back to the CA post.

    Good Hunting!

  2. SF2-WW2 Battle of the Bulge Terrain

    The terrain is set up to use the GermanyCE.Cat file but there are not that many ThirdWire objects in use and no ThirdWire tiles so it may work OK with other Terrain.cat files but hasn't been tested.
       This is a very narrow focused terrain with the emphasis on fighter bomber operations in the Ardennes region in late 1944 and early 1945. The main intent of this project was to make a semi-historical Battle of the Bulge campaign but as usual with the SF series, things are taking much longer than expected so I'm going to release this unfinished beta 0.9 version for testing and hopefully get the final version with a campaign released in about 6 months.
       The towns along the front line are in place but I still have quite a few to add further behind both the US and German lines. Most targets are  of the tactical variety such as supply dumps, fuel caches, storage barns, command/communication trucks, fuel trucks, high value tanks and local command buildings.
       Most target areas are focused on the Ardennes region with the exception of airfields and hangars. The area to the east of the Rhine river is considered off limits to allied fighter bombers so the five German airfields located there have zero points for runways and hangars. There are two German airfields on the west side of the Rhine that can be assigned as strike targets during single missions. The seven Allied airfields and their hangars can be targets during Luftwaffe strike missions.
    NOTES:
    The terrain has some artillery positions and the plan is to use the artillery as a force multiplier during the campaign. The artillery is very one sided in areas that saw quick German break outs but the northern and southern shoulders of the battle area saw very little movement so those areas have artillery positions for both sides.
    The terrain is meant for fighter bomber operations only so all airfields are classed as SMALL to try and minimize the number of large aircraft that might show up in single missions. There are three types of runways in use, two use a version of my quicker take off mod and one uses the FE style sequential take off.
    All the add-on tanks, vehicles, guns, etc. have had adjustments made to things like hit boxes, engine power, on and off road speed, armor protection, gun range, rate of fire, visual range, etc. They aren't perfect but I thought it best to take a consistent approach. Although they weren't always widely available, all the tank guns use AP rounds with no explosive in the warhead. All the guns and ground objects included have a suffix for "Bulge" or "Baffmeister', take your pick.
    There is an optional folder that contains some AAA pieces. If you are happy with your present WW2 AAA set up it can be ignored but my WW2 install was a real mess regarding the AAA so I took the opportunity to improve things. For now, the German 88mm, US 90mm and British 3.7inch time fused flak use the same gun and cover the entire WW2 date range. This is a gross simplification but I'm still experimenting with overly large explosive rounds for the time fused flak so it remains as is.
    ISSUES:
    The seven allied airfield positions are relatively accurate although I had to move them a bit to fit within the GermanyCE terrain tods. The Luftwaffe airfields are just using some of the stock ThirdWire locations. Two of the Luftwaffe airfields have a second airfield/runway attached to give two airfields at one location. None of the airfields are a good representation of the actual WW2 airfields. Also, I haven't had a chance yet to sort through some new objects so they are very plain looking.
    I tried to organize the ground objects a bit so they all have Green, Tan and for this terrain White texture folders. Some of the objects had some dedicated winter textures I could use but others I had to make myself by just messing with colors, brightness and saturation. Lots of room for improvement! The same holds true for winter roof textures I did for some building objects. Geezer's objects all have good textures!
    While scouting out town locations I found a great spot on the GermanyCE terrain for Elsenborn Ridge and guesstimated the other town locations off that point. The result is inaccurate town locations too far south. It doesn't really affect game play unless you try and fly with a real map but it's a done deal at this point.
    The ThirdWire GermanyCE terrain doesn't really do the Ardennes region justice. None off the rivers that were a big part of the Battle of the Bulge are modeled and neither are most of the roads but trying to do a dedicated terrain would have added years to the project.
    I tried using a very tight date range for this terrain but it seems to default to 1944 or 1945. For single missions you will want to choose 1944 because, at certain target areas, some US objects get removed from the terrain starting 17th December, 1944.

    TERRAIN CREDITS

    Unknown: British 3.7inchAAA.
    SPECIAL THANKS TO MUE!   Without his Target Area Editor I would not have even attempted this project!
    INSTALLATION:
    Instructions included in the package.
    WAIVERS:
    Geezer's PanzerIV-h model is still a work in progress and may not be re-distributed in any way. It's included mainly for testing and as a favor to me. It includes some copy/paste textures from RussoUK's PanzerIV-j but that's just a temporary test for now.
    Geezer's other building/vehicle/troop etc. objects can be used, with appropriate credits, for freeware projects only, no commercial use permitted. The new objects are contained in individual folders within the BotB Terrain folder and can be easily viewed with Mues lod viewer. You can then do a search through the BotB_Types.ini to see the way I've set them up, which might not be the best way. Keep in mind, this isn't a formal object pack upload and not all summer textures are included.
    The terrain is still WIP and may not be re-distributed or modified, except for personal use.
    To the best of my knowledge, other objects included in this package are subject to the CombatAce fair use agreement.

  3. SF2:I IsraelME Terrain Remod

    SF2:I IsraelME Terrain Remod 6/1/2015

    = For SF2:I (or any Merged Install) =

    **Note: This Is A MODERN (1948 and Later) Version -ONLY-!!!**

    This is a remod of the stock SF2:I IsraelME terrain. It has been extensively retiled, target areas have been expanded and enhanced and so on. BE ADVISED: at this time, it's unknown of these terrain mods will break campaigns-in-progress. To be safe, back up any campaigns-in-progress inis.
    It is designed to replace, and expand, the existing stock 3W terrain.

    Stock in-game items have been used as much as possible, although some additional structrues HAVE been added. Add-on GroundObjects, while heavily listed in the _Types.ini, aren't included (really, there ARE -none- included -use the ones from the Israel 2 terrain remod, as they're the same). Its up to the End User ™ to make sure that you have the theatre-specific (read: Israeli & Arab states) proper items. SF2:I is REQUIRED for this terrain (DOH!), as it references a myriad of IsrealME -only- terrain items.

    A massive amount of retiling has been performed, with the addition of over 60 new tiles to fill in blanks left in the original set. BE ADVISED: these new tiles match the STOCK styling =ONLY=!! Do NOT use these new tiles in/on any IME terrain with any other tile set. They will not match!!

    Geophysical Disclaimer: some rivers and other water features may not follow their Real Life ™ courses, be placed in their Real Life ™ locations, may visually defy gravity and other Universal Laws of Physics, or exist at all. Several cities and other physical features and target areas will also fall into that classification. Some target areas (cities, etc) exist only as named places, even if they might have had strategic or tactical values. You may also experience longer loading times; this is to be expected.

    As always, unzip this to a temp folder or your desktop, and you'll have access to the rest of the readme for it's instructions. It's reccomended (ie: REQUIRED!!!) you read the document through after unzipping, but =before= installing. As always, the Notes and Other Nonesense section makes for essential reading.

    It's most important that the legal disclaimer at the bottom be read and complied with. There has been a change in policy with regards to =ALL= my terrain mods.

    Happy Landings!

  4. SF2:NA -- Iceland Targets Tweek Pak, V.1

    IcelandNA Targets Tweek for SF2:NA

    = For SF2NA, And/Or Full-5 Merged Installs ONLY!! =

    *Note: for the SF2:NA IcelandNA map ONLY!!! It may be usable on Gerwins TFD/HFD based terrain, but many items will need repositioning due to the existence of actual coastlines*

    Some very basic enhancements to the target areas on Iceland, to increase the 'eye candy' and try to make it loook like people actually live there. Using the basic layout of several stock 'cities', filling in some gaps.

    As to be expected, there are at least 2 Easter Eggs on this terrain - one real, one fictional. I've tried to keep the needed ground objects to a minimum, so they are not included. You should have them from other terrain mods. (fishing trawlers, small cargo ship). Tried to keep it a 'stock' as possible. However, some enhancements have been perfromed on Air Defenses on both sides, but a -very- minimum, just in case things change radically with the next patch.

    As always, unzip this to a temp folder or your desktop, and you'll have access to the rest of the readme for it's instructions. It's reccomended you read the document through after unzipping, but BEFORE installing.

  5. SF2NA WW2 Okinawa/Japan Terrain Update

    SF2NA WW2 Okinawa/Japan Terrain Update

    -- Something for the PTO players --
    = For SF2, Full-5 Merged (ONLY) =

    *This mod will absolutely =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs; it is designed for use =ONLY= in a WW2 PTO-centric mods folder that is built off the SF2:NA exe.*

    A very quick and dirty mod for the WW2 Okinawa/Japan terrain that adds the required NA "coding" and _water.bmp with carrier stations.

    This is =NOT= a full terrain: just inis & a _water.bmp. It is to be applied to the modified version of the terrain I (re)relased in 2009, avaliable at this URL:
    http://combatace.com/files/file/9767-okinawajapan-version-3-ww2/

    New main, data, targets, nations, types inis and a new HFD, along with (excessively) modified desert airfield inis, allow for a 'drag-drop' update to SF2NA. A new SF2NA style water bmp with 3 carrier 'zones' was created and included.
    LimitedNations is set to TRUE; make sure you have the latest version of the WW2 Nations ini, as 'IJN' is most definatly one of the nations needed.

    As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, PLEASE read them for necessary instructions. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too.

    REMINDER: if you're downloading the original terrain listed above for the first time, DO NOT USE the enclclosed Ship GroundObjects (perhaps, excepting the LCM and _T taged ships and the 2 Forts/Gun Emplacements); they are NOT at SF2 levels. Use only those ships from the SF2 WW2 Naval Units Pak.

  7. Socotra terrain

    Socotra 1.0
    *****************************************************
    This terrain is written for SF2NA and SF2 Israel.
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    I. Short description:
    Socotra is a relativly big island on the shores of the Horn of Africa. It belongs to Yemen.
    Socotra is an ideal position to control all shipping lines between the Mediterranian Sea and the Indian Ocean.
    The power who controls Socotra can easily block the oil support from the Gulf to Western Europe.
    Socotra is the cork in the bottle neck, like Djibouti, the Suez Canal or Gibraltar.
    From mid 1960th to the fall of the Soviet Union, the soviets had an airbase on Socotra. In the 1980th on the base one regiment (squadron) of Su-24 bombers was active on Socotra.
    This terrain is made for a scenario that the Americans must defeat the soviet forces on Socotra island. They had to operate from carrier positions in the Gulf of Aden. For all guys who love to fly Air Force planes i made a temporary american airfield in Somalia.
    In the timeframe, where the soviets have no own carriers the single missions are focused on Socotra island. When the soviets field carriers the terrain is mostly focused on carrier vs carrier battles. So, if you prefer carrier vs ground battles you must choose missions before 1976. After that date you will have to fight Kiev carrier battle groups.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    II. INSTALLATION:
    To run this terrain you need SF2NorthAtlantic and SF2 Israel or SF2 Europe.

    Unzip all files into your saved game folder ...ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2XXXX

    Thats it.

    If you have SF2Israel installed you must do nothing more.
    If you miss SF2I and have SF2Europe you must open file
    Sokotra.ini
    with Notepad editor and look for the lines:
    CatFile=..\IsraelME\IsraelME.cat
    //CatFile=..\GermanyCE\GermanyCE.cat
    change the entry into:
    //CatFile=..\IsraelME\IsraelME.cat
    CatFile=..\GermanyCE\GermanyCE.cat
    save the file

  8. South China Sea 250m v 0.1 BETA

    ===================================================================
    South China Sea 250m v 0.1 BETA                December 2017
    ===================================================================
    This is a work-in-progress (BETA project) developed as a stand-alone for a merged Strike Fighters 2: Vietnam and North Atlantic.
    Included are 2x 7z files; Project South China Sea-pt1.7z (contains the menu and objects) and Project South China Sea-pt2 (contains the terrain).
    This project has been underway for over two years and started as a Strike Fighters Project One terrain add-on. Initially I used a standard resolution terrain but thanks to Stary's terrain tests I have managed to develop this terrain at the 250m scale. Not all locations are accurate due to game engine limitations.
    This terrain is massive and covers an area 3000x3000km. Currently there are 511 tiles, which is a byproduct of building custom local/islands tiles for the region. I am not able to build all islands due to game engine limitations. Some Island tiles are very simplistic while others are pulled from Wikimapia and reworked.
    Due to the large area coupled with 250m resolution you will need a strong system to run the game.
    Please send me feedback if you find issues with the terrain.
    ===================================================================
    REQUIRED for this terrain.
    1. A merged copy of SF2V and SF2NA.
    2. Terrain: Stary's Green Hell 3.5
    You sir are truly a master!
    My customized special tiles compliment Stary's work.
    These include additional terrain, river, stream, mountain and Island tiles (some fictional).
    ===================================================================
    Optional
    I used a lot of helicopters for this project (AH-1 series, AH/OH-6, CH-47, CH/HH-53, UH-1, UH-60).  If you have Yakarov79's AH-1F, I added an Australian skin to the basic AH-1F model.  Yakarow79 was gracious enough to provide 2x regional specific cobras; AH-1J_PinoyCobra & AH-1J_TOW_PinoyCobra.  Jarek thank you for taking the time to customize these cobra's for the South China Sea project!

    The OV-10D - I took the OV-10 and modified the DATA.INI into an OV-10D NODS platform. I know the Philippine Air Force is still using the OV-10 airframe. Its not perfect but it is the best I can do currently. All I did was some .INI work and skinning (my skinning skills for this a/c aren't so good).
    The PC-9A - I created a Philippine Air Force skin for DELS PC-9A using existing templates.
    As an added option, I created 2 new screens; Main Screen and Single Mission. Drop the JPGs into your Menu folder.
    ===========================================================
    License:
    This is a freeware; yet it can be redistributed ONLY in other CombatACE mods/mod packages.
    This terrain may NOT in any way, shape or form be used in any payware additions.
    ===========================================================
    Final Words.
    A lot of thanks to Menrva and Stratos for their continuous support during this process.
    Stary, thank you for the superb GH tiles and allowing me to take some artistic license with your excellent work.
    Erik, Wrench and the other administrators at Combat Ace. If it weren't for this site, no one would be reading this.
    I am solely responsible for this project. I hope you enjoy it.
    Krfrge - December 2017.

  9. South East Europe BETA

    This is a Beta mod, anyone who wants to help and finish it, thank you in advance. Also for campaigns that I failed to activate due to strategic nodes, ground troops are therefore inactive. I hope that someone will not resent me because I used some elements from other mods, all with the best intention to bring the best possible atmosphere to everyone on the forum here. Thank you for your understanding. I also thank my development team, first of all Stratos, Tiopilotos and others.

  10. Southern Ukraine and Crimean Peninsula Terrain

    Donbass Beta 0.40
    *****************************************************
    Southern Ukraine and Crimean Peninsula Terrain

    THIS IS STILL  A BETA VERSION!!!!
    ============================
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    This terrain is written for SF2E. It works well with SF2NA.
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    I. Short description:
    The south and the east of the Ukraine are battlegrounds in mid 2022. At the moment nobody knows how the war will end.
    This terrain covers the most parts of the Ukraine and some parts of the Russian Federation. But only the southern war theater and the crimean peninsula are included in this terrain so far. Airfields and some other target areas are placed on the map. Further improvements will come.
    I made the airfields in their shape as realistic as possible. Only 3 airfields are more or less freestyle.
    At the moment the terrain is made for scenarios around the Crimean peninsula. Offensive operations are more focused for the ukrainian side. In ukrainian strike missions you can fly against airfields, factories, depots, Sewastopol harbour and support facilities and a dense SAM network.
    For the russian side you can only fly against enemy airfields.
    At the moment possible mission types are:  Sweep, CAP, Escort, Intercept, Recon, Strike and SEAD missions.
    The terrain is set as NavalMap=FALSE, but it is prepared for NavalMap=TRUE. If you use SF2NA as basic game you may change the setting, so that carrier vs carrier operations will be possible.

    II. INSTALLATION:
    To run this terrain you need SF2NorthAtlantic or SF2 Israel or SF2 Europe.

    Unzip all files into your saved game folder ...ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2XXXX

    Thats it.

    If you have SF2Europe installed you must do nothing more.
    If you miss SF2E and have SF2Israel you must open file
    Donbass.ini
    with Notepad editor and look for the lines:
    //CatFile=..\IsraelME\IsraelME.cat
    CatFile=..\GermanyCE\GermanyCE.cat
    change the entry into:
    CatFile=..\IsraelME\IsraelME.cat
    //CatFile=..\GermanyCE\GermanyCE.cat

    save the file

  11. Southwest United States for SF2

    *******************************************************************************
    ********************** Southwest United States Terrain ************************
    *******************************************************************************

    This is a remake of Dave's & Deuces SCal terrain, as included in the TopGun
    campaign from 2003.

    The following are the biggies:
    - Previous target areas moved to their correct locations
    - Several new target areas added
    - The HeightMap has been regenerated as previous was 3x reality
    - Completely retiled with 1024x1024 tiles, via gerwin's TFDTool
    - Custom Nellis AFB and Edwards AFB layouts
    - Bombing/Gunnery range just east of China Lake

    Yuma and Tonopah are hostile airfields.

    Currently, the enemy is set to be the Soviets. This is temporary, as I am
    currently working several TopGun campaigns and updated, Hi-Res skins, for the
    A-4 aggressors. You can change this if you like, in the SWUS_NATIONS.INI file.

    After the campaigns are complete, I plan to work to add city tiles and trees.

    *******************************************************************************
    *********************** INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS *****************************
    *******************************************************************************

    1. Copy the SWUS folder into "ModFolder"/Terrains/

    2. Edit "ModFolder"/Terrains/SWUS.ini to point to a stock terrain.cat file that
    you have installed:

    CatFile=Desert.cat

    3. (Optional) Edit "ModFolder"/Terrains/SWUS.ini to point to an
    EnvironmentSystem.INI file of your choosing:

    EnvironmentFile=SWUS_ENVSYS_STOCK.INI
    ;EnvironmentFile=SWUS_ENVSYS_SARCASM_14.INI
    ;EnvironmentFile=SWUS_ENVSYS_SARCASM_15.INI

    I needed to raise the altitude of the clouds, to prevent them from colliding
    with the high mountains of the terrain. Included are three Environment
    files whose only edits are the cloud height. If you are using one of
    Stary's SARCASM mods (recommended), comment out the stock file, and
    uncomment out the file for the version of SARCSM you're running. Files for
    versions 1.4 & 1.5 are included.

  12. Sweden

    Another Sweden Terrain!!!!

    It does venture further South into what is now Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania. If you increase the boundary, you can get the North of Poland as well and maybe a little bit of Norway.

    I would like to do better planning maps and more road bases for Sweden. But I realise that it has taken me this long to get this far and
    life is not slowing down so I release it to the masses to scrutinize. That and JonathanRL would like to stuff around with it. So this ones for you Jono!!
    Good luck.

    Installation:
    Unzip the "Sweden" to a temp folder, or your desktop or somewhere easy to find.
    Then copy/paste, move the Sweden terrain folder into your Terrains folder in whichever game install you're installing it to!.
    Go to the Sweden.in file and change the cat to the appropriate cat file.
    Go fly!

    Decals included:

    Viggen: F6
    F7
    F13
    F15
    F17

    J-35F: F1
    F10
    F16

    There is a readme if you really do read them.

    Cheers

    PS. I made a few tiles for target specific areas, nothing to flash but I didn't put this info in the readme.

  13. Sweden, Baltic Rim (1952-1994)

    Sweden, Baltic Rim (1952-1994) Terrain
    March 13th, 2018 (1st Release)
    by Menrva

    >For Strike Fighters 2: Europe, Recommended Full-5 Merged
    This is a complete remake of the Sweden terrain made by gillg.
    What began as a simple tiling bugfix, for JonathanRL's The Scandinavian Front mod, turned out to be a huge overhaul upon noticing a number of inaccuracies. The terrain has been retargetized and hand-tiled to a good extent; major changes have been done to the Baltic states, which were pretty inaccurate in terms of target locations. Some rivers have been added and/or retiled to mimic Real World courses. Numerous target areas, including airports and highway strips, have been added in order to expand playability, targets of opportunity and year range.
    This terrain features a fresh new 250m resolution heightmap (instead of the stock 500m resolution), allowing for greater details and precision in elevation changes; overall it provides the whole terrain with a better look.
    The terrain spans from June 13, 1952 (the beginning of the Catalina Affair) to September 1, 1994 (the main withdrawal of Russian forces from the Baltic states); it is designed for The Scandinavian Front's scenarios by JonathanRL, taking place in the Cold War era.
    This terrain is a standalone version of the one which will be included in the last iteration of the TSF mod package by JonathanRL. The terrain that will be included in the TSF mod package will likely differ slightly from this one, so users are advised to keep that in mind. Also, this terrain uses only a single tileset. The TSF's version will use different tilesets according to the season, as originally designed by our fellow modder, Stary.
    Targets reflect Real World events as accurately as possible; for instance, some airfields won't be available after a certain date and/or will change name according to historic changes. Off Map Airbases have been added and long range AI flights can be generated from them, if you have SF2NA. Most of the main targets have been placed accurately in their Real World locations. Due to the complexity of the area, some inaccuracies are to be expected, but I did my best!
    Ground Objects are not included. Download JonathanRL's The Scandinavian Front mod package to have all that you need for this scenario.

    >Credits (in no particular order):
    -gillg, who created this terrain and whose work I have admired during my rework. I can only imagine how much time he spent on tiling roads and rivers from scratch!
    -JonathanRL, for his exceptional TSF2 mod package, which prompted me to do something to help improve it.
    -Wrench, as he is always glad to help us fellow terrain modders. Thank you, sir!
    -swambast, who provided me with invaluable help in tracking and fixing common and uncommon bugs.
    -gerwin, whose TFDtool has proved to be essential in today's terrain making. If the terrain is pretty accurate to RL it's also because of him. I included his very nice Airfield 7+8 Addon Pack, too.
    -mue, for the improved shaders he made, which I have included and reworked for the terrain, and for the tools he made for SF2 modding.
    -luk1978, for the waternormal bitmap he shared at the SF2 screenshots thread. Your mods are very interesting!
    -MigBuster, I have included some of his great hi-res textures for runways.
    -Stary, for the wonderful tileset he made exclusively for the original Sweden terrain included in the TSF mod package.
    -Gepard, for his great tutorials about terrain making, in the SF1 Knowledge Base at CombatACE. It's a gold mine!
    -tiopilotos and Stratos, who always support me during my terrain remakes. Thank you, guys!
    -krfrge, who has produced a tutorial for recreating SF2-like planning maps, which prompted me to work on templates and my own high quality planning maps. Thank you very much!
    -comrpnt, for his Approach and Airfield Lighting Pack mod packages for SF1 series, which I reworked and included.
    Because this terrain is a rework of gillg's fantastic creation, I included his ReadMe file from his original package, to the end of giving proper credit to everyone involved directly or not.

    >Disclaimer:
    This is a freeware; yet it can be redistributed ONLY in other CombatACE mods/mod packages.
    Any changes to the terrain package's files and/or any copy-and-paste attempts of their contents are NOT authorized if you plan to release them in other mods. But permission might be granted to those who request it to me at CombatACE.
    This terrain may NOT in any way, shape or form be used in any payware additions.

  15. Texas, American South Central (1968-2018)

    Texas, American South Central (1968-2018) Terrain
    August 13th, 2018 (1st Release)
    by Menrva

    >For Strike Fighters 2, Recommended Full-5 Merged
    This is a new, scratch-made terrain inspired by the original, smaller ASW terrain made by krfrge and reworked by Wrench.
    The terrain covers to a good extent the American State of Texas, as well as some Mexican States. Major rivers and a number of lakes have been hand-tiled and mimic Real World courses. Numerous target areas, such as civilian airports and onshore and offshore oil fields, have been added in order to expand playability, targets of opportunity and year range.
    This terrain features a fresh new 250m resolution heightmap (instead of the stock 500m resolution), allowing for greater details and precision in elevation changes; overall it provides the whole terrain with a better look.
    The terrain spans from October 3, 1968 to December 31, 2018; it is designed for a fictional scenario where Mexico is invaded by an alliance of Central American countries (namely Cuba, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Guatemala) supported by the Russians; the remnant of the Mexican military flees to the U.S. and fights alongside North American forces. However, users are encouraged to recreate whatever scenario they like, even outside the given time frame.
    Targets reflect Real World events as accurately as possible; for instance, some airfields and Mexican oil platforms will appear only after a certain year, according to historic changes. If you have SF2NA, American naval fleets can spawn in the Gulf of Mexico. All main targets have been placed accurately in their Real World locations.
    Ground Objects are not included. It's up to the user to find and obtain anything that can be useful for the proposed terrain's scenarios.

    >Credits (in no particular order):
    -krfrge, for creating the ASW terrain from which I drew inspiration; he also produced a tutorial for recreating SF2-like planning maps, which prompted me to work on templates and my own high quality planning maps. Thank you very much!
    -Wrench, for he reworked the original ASW terrain with additional targets.
    -Stary, for the hi-res tileset he made for the original ASW terrain.
    -Polak, for a few tiles I borrowed and reworked from his old PRDesert2 tileset.
    -Gepard, for his great tutorials about terrain making, in the SF1 Knowledge Base at CombatACE. It's a gold mine!
    -comrpnt, for his Approach and Airfield Lighting Pack mod packages for SF1 series, which I reworked and included.
    Although scratch-made, the terrain makes use of most objects and target layouts from Wrench's reworked ASW terrain; because of this, I included the ReadMe files from his original packages, to the end of giving proper credit to everyone involved directly or not.

  16. Timor, North Oceania (1950-2018)

    Timor, North Oceania (1950-2018) Terrain
    August 13th, 2018 (1st Release)
    by Menrva

    >For Strike Fighters 2: Vietnam, Recommended Full-5 Merged
    This is a complete remake of the Modern Darwin terrain made by Wrench.
    A better and more complete tileset has been added, improving the looks of Northern Australia with the introduction of desert and barren valleys. Various rivers and lakes have been hand-tiled and mimic Real World courses. Now the island of Timor has a lot of bases to take-off from. Numerous target areas, such as emergency airstrips and civilian airports, have been added in order to expand playability, targets of opportunity and year range.
    This terrain features a fresh new 250m resolution heightmap (instead of the stock 500m resolution), allowing for greater details and precision in elevation changes; overall it provides the whole terrain with a better look.
    The terrain spans from August 17, 1950 (when President Sukarno proclaimed a single unitary Republic of Indonesia) to December 31, 2018; it is designed for fictional clashes between ANZUS/SEATO forces (namely Australia and New Zealand) and a random pool of Red Side countries (namely Indonesia and China).
    Targets reflect Real World events as accurately as possible; for instance, some airfields will appear only after a certain year, according to historic changes. If you have SF2NA, naval fleets might spawn in the Timor Sea. Also, Off Map Airbases have been added and long range AI flights can be generated from them. All main targets have been placed accurately in their Real World locations.
    Ground Objects are not included. You can obtain the most needed from Wrench's original Modern Darwin terrain release.

    >Credits (in no particular order):
    -Wrench, for he had the idea of recreating such a scenario in the Strike Fighters world.
    -Stary, for the hi-res PTO tileset he made, which I have reworked and expanded.
    -Brain32, for the gorgeous VietnamSEA tileset repaint he made, from which I borrowed a few tiles.
    -Centurion-1, Spudknocker and tiopilotos, for the impressive tileset they made for the Angola terrain, from which I borrowed some tiles.
    -Gepard, for his great tutorials about terrain making, in the SF1 Knowledge Base at CombatACE. It's a gold mine!
    Because the original terrain was made and tweaked numerous times by Wrench, I included the ReadMe files from his original packages, to the end of giving proper credit to everyone involved directly or not.

  17. WW2 Allied Bombing Range - Final-

    WW2 Allied Bombing Range - Final-                5/1/2018
    - For SF2, Any & All (Full-4/5 Merged Reccomended)
    **Please note, you should have SF2 for this terrain references many stock items from the Desert.cat.However, instructions are provided to use other terrain cats.***
    This is a major overhaul of Several of the target areas on the Allied Bombing Range. This is designed =ONLY= for WW2 Allied usage. It can be used for practice by any and all of the Allied nations. There are a myriad of targets, both the old and newer ones, to hone you skills in level and dive bombing, strafing with guns and/or rockets (for those aircraft equipped). I intend THIS to be the Final Version.
    It =WILL= replace all earlier versions of the Allied Bombing Range, so you'll need to backup, move/remove or delete any older version you may have.
    Like the revamped modern range terrains, it has been retiled in an "IME" desert style with the addition of a water feature for anti-shipping. See "Change Log" in the Notes section for more details
    As is reccomended, unzip this archive to a temp folder or your desktop, and you'll have access to the rest of the readme for it's instructions. It's reccomended you -READ- this document (THIS readme), expecially the "To Install" section, after unzipping, but =BEFORE= installing.

    As always, the Notes and Other Nonesense section may make for entertaining reading.
    Please also read the Standard Usage Discalimer, as it's been changed slightly to reflect a change in my policy. It's listed at the bottom, in the Legal Statement Section, with the URL back to the CA post.

  18. WW2 Battle of Britain Terrain for SF2

    WW2 Battle of Britain Terrain for SF2 8/16/2013

    - For SF2, (Full 5 Merged REQUIRED!!!*)

    "The Battle of France is over; the Battle of Britain is about to begin..."

    This is a (nearly complete) rebuild of the Battle of Britain map by Gepard.
    It has been brought (as much as possible) up to SF2 standards, at the May 2013 patch level. It it designed for use in WW2 ETO mods folders built =FROM= the SF2:NA exe.
    The terrain has also been completely (well, nearly ~98.6%) retiled using the GermanyCE tile set. Please see the "Notes" section for more info on the tiles. There ARE some custom tiles and TODs.

    If you have the original version, or any updated versions, it's suggested you move THAT terrain sub-folder to a storage section, rename it, or delete it from your WW2 ETO mods folder. This version =WILL= completly replace it.

    This is map covers western France and Southern England, from Paris to Brisol (east and west) and RAF Whittering to Breast (n/s), with the majority of the target areas in S/E England, and the French Channel Coast. For other targets further inland, and later time frames, it's reccomened you use my EAW WW2 Euro Rebuild, as it's much more detailed and covers a substantially larger area.

    This map makes use of the LimitedNations, AllowedDates and AllowedMission statements. There are =NO= CAS routes, ground attack missions are limited to Armed Recon and Anti-Shipping. Strike, of course, for the bombers, remains valid (expecially for the Luftwaffe!). Armed Recon mission are constrained to within approximately 100km of the coastlines (more or less) for BOTH sides. As this map is more designed for the defense of England, rather than cross-channel RAF strikes, this works well (also, vice versa for Luftwaffe bombers and fighters). For those wanting more, use the EAW Euro WW2 rebuild.

    OTH, since there is (nearly) enough sea room, several SF2NA "ship zones" are placed on the water bmp. This allows for the generation of Kriegsmarine Surface Action Groups, as well as CV operations for the Royal Navy. If you find these historically offensive, a second _water.bmp is provided, withOUT the zones. A simple bmp rename, and text edit of the terrain's main ini will remove this function. Instructions are in the "Notes" section.

    There are some new GroundObjects included; these are ALL at the latest SF2 patch level, and will replace any others. Most are Raven's new LW radars (the Natter SAM is NOT included, as it's 1945 start date is outside this maps operational life span), and some ships by Stephan1918, imported from FE2, and modifided for SF2 usage .

    *Geophysical Disclaimer: some rivers and other water features may NOT follow their Real Life ™ courses, or be placed in their Real Life ™ locations, or exist at all. Several cities and other physical features may also fall into this classification; Some populated places may exist only as "named places" on the map. This was done for historical reasons. Many airfields/airports, some of historical significance, may also not exist or placed in the Real Life ™ locations due to tiling constraints.*

    When in-game, you'll still see "Battle of Britain" on the terrain selection dropdown window.

    It's reccomended you unzip this to a temp folder or your desktop, and you'll have access to the rest of the readme for it's instructions. It's reccomended you read the document through after unzipping, but =BEFORE= installing.
    As always, the Notes and Other Nonesense section may make for entertaining reading.

    Please also read -and Obey- the New Standard Usage Discalimer, as it's been modified to reflect changes in my policy. It's listed at the bottom, in the Legal Statement Section, with the URL back to the CA post.

  19. WW2 Eastern China Terrain for SF2

    WW2 Eastern China Terrain for SF2 11/18/2013

    - For SF2, Any & All (Full-5 Merged Reccomended)

    = For Adventures in The Far East =

    *Note: This pack is designed to REPLACE, in total, any eariler versions of this terrain.*

    **Note2: IMPORTANT! Make sure you have the WW2 ground objects!!**

    This map repsents Eastern China (mainland), Formosa, the South China Sea regions from Chan-Chiang (Fort Bayard) in the south to Shanghai in the north, Taipei in the East and Chungking in the west. It has been COMPLETLY rebuilt from the original; almost nothing from the original remains, excepting perhaps the shapes of the land masses and oceans.

    The map depicts the region in approximately mid-late 1943. Some Friendly sites were eventually captured during Japanese operations in late 44. To that end, I've left 2 maps in the "extra bits" folder, showing the Japanese routes, for any campaign builders.

    The LimitedNations statement is set to TRUE, allowing only for the regional powers that took part. The terrain also makes use of the 'Allowed Missions' statement, as there are NO Friendly shipping routes for IJAAF/IJN forces to attack (although I wish we COULD use the rivers for such...they're just a bit too narrow). All other missions statement, for both sides, remain intact.

    LOTS of new tiles and their associated TODs have been created, and match the GH3 styling. There is also, as expected, a few Easter Eggs.

    Also included are several GroundObjects, (repaints/repurposing of 2 of Kesselbruts' Zil truck for IJA usage) and etc seen in my other terrain mods. These are designed to REPLACE any pre-existing ones I've done. Be advised, you'll still need many of the other WW2 PTO objects I've included in other terrain mod paks. Make sure you have them!!!

    REMEMBER: you will need the latest WW2 weapons and Guns pack!

    **Geophysical Disclaimer: some rivers and other water features may not follow their Real Life ™ courses, or be placed in their Real Life ™ locations, or exist at all. Several cities and other physical features may also fall into that classification. Some cities exist as 'named places' only. Some exist only as 'city tiles' sitting on the landscape. Some airfields may not be in their historical locaitons or headings due to Height Field and other tiling restrictions.**

    As always, unzip this to a temp folder or your desktop, and you'll have access to the rest of the readme for it's instructions. It's reccomended you READ this document through after unzipping, but BEFORE installing.
    As always, the Notes and Other Nonesense section may make for entertaining reading.

  20. WW2 Europe Terrain for SF2 (aka: EAW Euro)

    WW2 Europe Terrain for SF2 (aka: EAW Euro)

    - For SF2, Any & All (*Full-4/5 Merged Reccomended*)

    This is a rebuild of the WW2 EAW Europe map. It has extensive retargeting and retiling (read: new tiles created, albeit in the original "BN series") In essence, approximatley 98.6% of the terrain and targeting has been revised in some fashion.

    It has been brought (as much as possible) up to SF2 standards, at the July 2012 patch level. There are, however, some height field issuses that are unresolvable; so End Users ™ are advised to ignore them. All airfield inis, while retaining them original name, have been brought to the most recent patch level, and will generate parked aircraft.

    If you have the original version, or any of my updated versions, it's suggested you move THAT terrain sub-folder to a storage section, rename it, or delete it from your WW2 ETO mods folder. This version =WILL= completly replace it. In MUCH greater detail...

    This is a fairly large map, covering Western Europe from the German/Polish border in the east to the Irish Sea in the west, and a far north as York in the UK, and the Bay of Biscay/Alps in the south (including Bordeaux). Several target areas in the farthest S/E region (south of the Italian Alps) have been removed for playability. As can ALWAYS be expected, there =ARE= Easter Eggs scattered across the map.

    This map makes use of =BOTH= the LimitedNations and AllowedMission statements. There are =NO= CAS or other Ground Attack mission tasking, other than Armed Recon and Anti-Shipping. Strike, of course, for the bombers, remains (exceedingly!) valid. Armed Recon mission are constrained to within approximately 100km of the coastlines (more or less) for BOTH sides.

    *Geophysical Disclaimer: some rivers and other water features may not follow their Real Life ™ courses, or be placed in their Real Life ™ locations. Several cities and other physical features (mountains, vallies, coastlines, forests, roads, etc) may also fall into this classification; Some populated places may exist only as "named places" on the map. This was done for historical reasons. Many airfields/airports, some of historical significance, may also be not existant or placed in the Real Life ™ locations due to tiling constraints.*

    When in-game, you'll see "Europe, WWII" on the terrain selection dropdown window.
    Some GroundObjects are included (ships mostly); these are the same ones that are in the recently released ETO/MTO Ships pak. When installing, just allow the Overwrite.

    It's reccomended you unzip this to a temp folder or your desktop, and you'll have access to the rest of the readme for it's instructions. It's reccomended you read the document through after unzipping, but =BEFORE= installing.

  21. WW2 IsraelME Terrain for SF2

    WW2 IsraelME Terrain for SF2 6/1/2015

    = For SF2 (Full 5 Merged RECCOMENDED!!! - MUST have SF2I in your merged install!!!) =

    **Note: This Is A WW2 Version -ONLY-!!!**

    This is a rebuild of the stock SF2:I IsraelME terrain into a WW2 version. Like the recently released "Palestine 2 (Full Scale)" it represents the region at the start of WW2, with British, French/Vichy French and other regional Axis Powers. Unlike the Palestine 2 terrain, THIS one has working CV zones (ala SF2NA). I did this mostly for fun, but also to have working carriers; all those FAA birds need something to do!

    It is designed to be used =ONLY= in the WW2 MTO environment (read: an MTO centric mods folder). It may NOT compatable with the DAT MTO All-Inclusive Mod. This has NOT been tested.

    Stock in-game items have been used as much as possible, although some additional structrues HAVE been added. Add-on GroundObjects, while heavily listed in the _Types.ini, aren't included (really, there ARE none included -use the ones from the Palestine 2 terrain, as they're the same). Its up to the End User ™ to make sure that you have the theatre-specific (read: Allies & Axis) proper items. SF2:I is REQUIRED for this terrain, as it references a myriad of IsrealME only terrain items.
    A massive amount of retiling has been performed, with the addition of over 60 new tiles to fill in blanks left in the original set. BE ADVISED: these new tiles match the STOCK styling ONLY!!

Some airfields may actually be 'post-war', but have been left for game playability. And So Forth ™. You may also experience long loading times; this is to be expected.

    When in game, you'll see:

    "Middle East (WW2-3W)"

    The "3W" designates this is built from a stock 3rd Wire Terrain.
    Limited Nations is set to TRUE, and only uses historical WW2 Nations (ie: no Americans). This will allow campaign builders to not only replicate the fighting against Vichy forces in the Levant & Syria, but allows a more 'what if..' situation, giving Italian and German forces a greater presence in Mandate Palestine, TransJordan, and Iraq.

  22. WW2 Palestine 2 Terrain (Full Scale) for SF2

    WW2 Palestine 2 Terrain (Full Scale) for SF2 5/1/2015

    = For SF2, Any and All (Full 5 Merged RECCOMENDED!!!) =

    **Note: This Is A WW2 Version -ONLY-!!!**

    This is a (yet again??!!) another mod of Gepard's Israel 2 terrain. Like the "modern version", it's has been 90% retiled to more match the stock IsraelME and my "Eastern Med" terrains. However, the farm and city tiles remain in their original '3W Desert' style. All other tiles have been replaced. The target areas have, for the most part, been rebuilt, enhanced and expanded.
    It is designed to be used =ONLY= in the WW2 MTO environment (read: an MTO centric mods folder). It may -NOT- be compatable with the DAT MTO All-Inclusive Mod. This has not been tested.

    The addon terrain objects have been kept to a minimum (no, not really!). Stock in-game items have been used as much as possible, although some additional structrues HAVE been added. Add-on GroundObjects, while heavily listed in the _Types.ini, have been kept to as small an amount as possible (again, not really!).
    I've included =SOME= of the Ground Objects needed but NOT all of them. Its up to the End User ™ to make sure that you have the theatre-specific (read: Allies & Axis) proper items. Of the ones included, many of these you should have from my other MTO terrains, some you may not. Some are even "new(ish)".

    Geophysical Disclaimer: some rivers and other water features may not follow their Real Life ™ courses, be placed in their Real Life ™ locations, or exist at all. Several cities and other physical features and target areas will also fall into that classification. Some target areas (cities, etc) exist only as named places, even if they might have had strategic or tactical values (most don't!). Just someplace to fly over. Some airfields may actually be 'post-war', but have been left for game playability. And So Forth ™. Long loading times may also be experienced due to the number of objects being loaded.

    When in game, you'll see:

    "Palestine, WW2 (Full Scale)"

    Limited Nations is set to TRUE, and only uses historical WW2 Nations (ie: no Americans). This will allow campaign builders to not only replicate the fighting against Vichy forces in the Levant & Syria, but allows a more 'what if..' situation, giving Italian and German forces a greater presence (they are listed in the Nations.ini). Like the modern version, this terrain is =NOT= carrier capable in =any= SF2 Environment; which is really sad! (see notes).

    As always, unzip this to a temp folder or your desktop, and you'll have access to the rest of the readme for it's instructions. It's reccomended (ie: REQUIRED!!!) you read the document through after unzipping, but =before= installing. 23. WW2 PTO New Guinea Terrain for SF2

    New Guinea, WW2 PTO Terrain for SF2 (Ver.3.5) 8/6/2014

    - For SF2, Any & All (Full-4/5 Merged Reccomended)

    = For Adventures in the South West Pacific =

    **This is Version 3.5, with additional goodies. It's designed to replace all eariler versions.
    If you have the other versions, you can either unzip and drop directly over your existing, or delete the older versions, and just use this one. No harm will befall you if you just Overwrite your existing New Guinea WW2 Terrain. Really.**

    Be advised, this NEW terrain folder still retains the same name as all the originals, "NewGuinea2".

    There many new GroundObject and Terrain Objects included in this terrain mod. All (if not most of) other Ground Objects you should already have. Those from the v.3 are still included. New Target Areas have been added . See the "Notes" section for the change list.

    The LimitedNations statement is set to TRUE, allowing only for 'regional powers', but has been expaned to include RNZAF and ML-KNIL forces. The terrain also makes use of the 'AllowedDates" statement, preventing use BEFORE January 1942.

    Geophysical Disclaimer: some rivers and other water features may not follow their Real Life ™ courses, or be placed in their Real Life ™ locations. Several cities and other physical features may also fall into that classification. Some cities exist only as 'named places'.
