+ST0RM Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 Got home Thursday afternoon from my latest trip over the desert. We flew 35 times and I surpassed the 100th combat mission goal I had set for myself when I became a boom operator in '05. Well, today I figured I'd try and boot up the ol' dinosaur for a quick flight in FS2004 since I havent touched it in 3 months. I guess she is done for though, as I kept getting a blue error screen each time I'd try and run a program. Even a system restore would cause a crash. So, looks like I'm done for quite some time. I got a good 5 years of use from this one. Here are a few photos from the latest trip: Tornado GR.4 over Baghdad Indiana and Vermont ANG F-16Cs Misawa Samurai "BOB" "New" A-10C Gaggle of Warthogs headed home from OEF So what have I missed and will miss out on? Cheers! Jeff Quote

Weasel Keeper Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 (edited) Holy SHI... Small world bro! I was in the sand when you took those pics (FW & VT F-16s). 236 was a POS, glad to see a picture of it flying...220 was a good jet. I'm in the 122FW, IN ANG and just returned home a couple weeks ago. I crewed FW 84-1238 (dropped a few on the dumbass badguys...shack!). Glad we're back. :D Edited November 22, 2007 by Weasel Keeper Quote

+ST0RM Posted November 26, 2007 Author Posted November 26, 2007 Thanks for all the kind words of encouragement. I really appreciate it! Weasel Keeper, that is too funny. Yes it is a small world. I'm looking through my log, and I think I got to refuel your jet once, but no pictures. If there were any scratches, they didnt come from me. ;) I'll see if I can upload a few shots to the Gallery for calendars or whatever. Jeff Quote

Jeff Wait a second...now that you mention it there was a scratch on mine. About a week after I got to Iraq my jet came back after a long flight and the pilot was a little nervous about a possible "boom strike", but said everything was working fine. The first thing I looked at was the VHF antenna right in front of the slipway door. Sure enough it was cracked almost in half. I'm sure it wasn't you, and it was a quick fix...just change the antenna and she was back in business. Kind of weird, I'd almost forgot about that with all the stuff that's happened since then. We did get to keep a tanker in Moron Spain with us for about 5 days. Something broke on it's boom and we needed it for the piggyback home. Quote
+DoctorQuest Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Sweet! I was due for some screensaver updates. Glad you got back home in one piece. Very nice photos. Quote
