Lexx_Luthor Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 streakeagle (page 2):: While I can't say for certain, it is my impressions from beta testing that the changes to radar ecm/eccm are universally applied to AI and player.I can say for sure, AI flys low and behind hills while approaching targets and MiG-21s do maneuver to break F-15 locks. It is hard (almost impossible) to get a Sparrow kill against a target that is aware of your presence and able to counter your shot. The best way to get a Sparrow kill is to get in relatively close while the target is head on or tail on so that the time of flight is too short for the MiG to turn his beam to you. Thanks! TK's beats every other sim hands down in the terrain avoidance capability of AI aircraft. Its phenomanal to watch. Is TK taking advantage of this directly now, or has he always? I never played SF+ campaigns or single missions, only KMD testing. Any chance of testing the AI to see if TK has made AI aircraft supersonic dash with afterburner possible? How do you ever test the re AI aircraft without a mission editor to create specific conditions for testing? Quote
topcat II Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 First Thank You TK AND ALL FOR THIS!!! this IS Great stuff!!! Quote
Roberto Skylord Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Very nice! The questions that I wanna got some answers are, the second flight (numbers 3 and 4) now strike the primary target too. Or they still flying around dropping bombs on anything they see but the primary target? Wingmans commands are improved? And any improvement for the briefing screen, some intel about the target against you will be sended can help a little. The actual state of WOE graphics are just ok for me. Not that I dislike the improvements that are made. Quote

Not that I dislike the improvements that are made. In these respects the sim is pretty much the same as the older games. TK has stated in the past that having the wingmen (except #2) not attack the primary target is a gameplay decision designed to make the player focus on the primary target himself. So don't look for that to change. The only change to the menus is the addition of the medals screen in the pilot record. Quote
column5 Posted February 19, 2008 Author Posted February 19, 2008 Oh, one thing I noticed immediately is that there is plenty of room in the eastern med for a carrier station. A 1958 Lebanon Crisis scenario should be really easy to create, as well as 1983 what-if-we-had-kicked-Syria's-ass scenario. Quote
Mannie Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 It was a tough one to find, what with the pointer directly by it. And that Kfir above is just awesome. New land textures, etc. The more I look, the more I want!! Its not a Kfir. If my eyes don't deceive me its a Mirage IIIC. Everything I see here looks so sweet and so inviting. Man I'm gonna love this game. :fans: Quote
column5 Posted February 19, 2008 Author Posted February 19, 2008 My screenshot is of a Kfir. Though the Mirage IIICJ and Nesher are in the game. Quote
Mannie Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 (edited) My screenshot is of a Kfir. Though the Mirage IIICJ and Nesher are in the game. Hehe. I thought Spectra USA was referring to the PILOT RECORD screenie where the pic of the mirage IIIC is. And that Kfir C-2 in shades of gray does look Awesome. (as all others). Emp_Palpatine Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Nope. No? What's the point then? Quote

+SkateZilla Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 (edited) after seeing these improvements, specifically parked aircraft like in First Eagles - I have a question - Is this game based on the FE engine or the WoE etc engine? Will there be a patch to bring the other games up to this standard, or will it be a FE based game engine? All the Games are Based on the SAME Engine, just different Evolutions.. SFP1 WoV First Flight USAF:AD (USAF Kiosk Demo) WoE F.E. WoI Each Game Added Something new to the engine, and subsequent games were patched to bring the base engine up to date in the past. +Bongodriver Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Drag Chute? Cockpit linked animations? Quote
+Spectre_USA Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 I am not fond of the mythos, and I am glad my name's not abell... Quote
+hgbn Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Well it's hard to judge from a few screnshots, but what I have seen so far is looking niiiiiiiice, really hope AI has improved to a decent level so my wingies is not just cannon fodder and needless deaths Quote
MigBuster Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Drag Chute? Ah brings back memories - I was disapointed when the SFP1 manual said I could deploy a drag chute and it wasnt implemented Actually the Mig 25s deploy their chutes automatically when you land - which is much better in someways because you dont forget to deploy them and you dont deploy them to early. Quote
+Dave Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 So features like Ace pilots, unjamming guns, engine shutdown and random static ground AC - these will be in ALL the games with the patch? sweet. DO didn't say that. Lets not get into over speculation here. Quote
