What Did You Have For Dinner

Recommended Posts

This is Singapore Chicken and Rice. (With a twist by me.) Rice is cooked in a wok with chicken fat, sesame seed oil, garlic, and chicken broth that came from the chicken that I boiled. The red stuff you see on the side is chili based with a shallot and 4 roma tomatoes all chopped in food processor. Very spicy. My twist on it is that I cook chicken pieces instead of boiling a whole chicken. Just easier for me. A very simple dish with tremendous results. And yes if you go to Singapore it is one their dishes of choice. I did find out though, that what you put on it is what makes the dish. Thus my red chile sauce. My mom was a chef, she taught all us kids to cook. My dad taught me how to BBQ. Cooking is my secret passion.

HMMMM! Looks good.

Soup and salad. Ate too much the last couple of weeks on the road. That's the bad part of travelling. Too much restaurant food.

Oh I do like that picture. Hat fits perfect seems to me. I had roast lamb, roast potatoes, broccolli, carrots with Appple Strudel & ice cream to follow. Lamb was a bit chewy but I've had worse.

Good old English fare really and yes my misses can cook!

I do a bit when I'm pushed like kidneys & bacon.

I'll have to try some WELSH lamb next week.

Oddly enough, I also had stir-fried chicken last night from a wok. However, the rice pilaf was NOT in there, just a bunch of veggies which the wife ate all of.

Well, seeing as none of us in my house can be bothered to cook tonight we've had Fish n Chips from the Chippy. Plenty of salt and vinegar, mushy peas and scraps. Doesn't happen that often...honest !

Well, I was expecting an explosion, rotten food, and a burning house.

That's a WHOLE lot better than what I had. My dinner consisted of saltine crackers we keep for the patients in the ER. Oh, and I had some Pepsi. :good:
