+Geezer Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Geezer, your work is amazing! Looking forward to all of your master pieces. Much appreciated, NIELS Thanks. To give credit where credit is due, the five shots immediately above feature aircraft/skins by Hinchenbrooke (Gauntlet) and MontyCZ (B534 and Stuka). All I did was adjust the colors a bit and drop them into Gterl's excellent WW1 Italian Front. I've also adjusted some of the the Italian Front's colors, plus used some excellent sky files I got from Quack74. Gterl and I have begun work on a Spanish Civil War mod, but its on hold right now. Two shots below show preliminary work that can also be rolled into other mods. 2 Quote

+Stephen1918 Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Thank you, Ojcar and Capitaine Vengeur! For the past few weeks, I've been actually playing First Eagles (instead of just making planes.) Ojcar's camapaigns and Capitaine Vengeur's pilots & recent medals pack have really brought the game to life for me. Tonight I earned my first medal - Flying a Spad A.2 with the Russian 19th AOI, I shot down two planes in the same mission - well, my gunner did after I kept him pointed him at the enemy long enough to take them down. :) 2 Quote

In the Russian empire? Ain't it awful? 1 Quote
+Stephen1918 Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 (edited) The feldfebel was awarded the Order (of St. Vladimir or anyone another)? In the Russian empire? Ain't it awful? I know it may not be that impressive to some people here, but it was a first for me and I was very proud. I'll try flying the same campaign as an Austro-Hungarian Pilot and see how I do. It is impressive that we now have complete games for Eastern, Palestine, and Italian Fronts. Edited January 18, 2016 by Stephen1918 2 Quote
Crawford Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 I know it may not be that impressive to some people here, but it was a first for me and I was very proud. I understand you. This award is quite worthy. But I mean that in Tsarist Russia the Orders was awarded to officers only. The soldiers never awarded the Orders. (In Russia, as in Europe, there are differences between the status of the Orders, Medals and Crosses). Nevertheless, I congratulate you on your well-deserved reward! By the way, my protagonist in the game gets the award mainly posthumously. 1 Quote
+Stephen1918 Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 I'll have to check that installed it correctly. Capitaine Vengeur made two versions, one for the Imperial government, and another for the provisional government in 1917. I may have gotten them mixed when I installed them. But I'm still having fun with it. I know what you mean by posthumous awards! I have gotten some of those too. 2 Quote
+Gepard Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 (edited) The rank "Feldfebel" seems to be wrong. The russian rank should be "Starshi Sershant" or "Starshina". "Feldfebel" is a wrong written for the german rank "Feldwebel". Feldwebel is the thrid sergeants rank in german armies, comparable with a Sergeant first Class in the US Army. +ojcar Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 It seems Feldfebel was correct in Imperial Russian Army: http://www.overthefront.com/reasources/military-ranks/russian-ranks Quote

"Feldfebel" is a wrong written for the german rank "Feldwebel". Feldwebel is the thrid sergeants rank in german armies, comparable with a Sergeant first Class in the US Army. Sorry for rallying the topic that late. Gepard, Feldfebel (Фельдфебель) was an actual rank of the Czarist army, The Russians used to adopt foreign words from the best specialists: French for cuisine, English for business, and of course German for the military. There were many ranks directly adopted from the Prussian army: Ефрейтор (Gefreiter) for the corporals, Младший/ Старший унтер-офицер (Unteroffizier) for the Sergeants/ Staff Sergeants, Фельдфебель (Feldwebel) for the Master Sergeants (same epaulette than the Starshina, a later naming), Генера́л-майо́р, Генера́л-лейтена́нт or Генерал-фельдмаршал for the generals... Crawford, I agree that something sounds wrong. But as explained in my Medals Packs for WW1, almost every nation had an awards system for enlisted/NCOs, and a completely different other one for the officers. I chose to select the officers' crosses and orders only. An optional system I uploaded with my Medals Packs entitles you to be promoted as soon as your first mission is completed, either succesful or not. Yet I chose to keep the first rank as a NCO one, in order for your Roster screen to show many NCOs in the air units where they were, actually, many. If like Stephen1918, you shine enough during your very first mission, you'll be awarded an officer's distinction while still a NCO, just before being promoted. Sounds bad, true, but I had to settle a choice, and I did. And the oddity shall concern but your very first mission, if outstandingly succesful. 4 Quote
+Stephen1918 Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 To clarify - it was actually my third or fourth mission of the campaign. But it was the first time I ever earned a medal. I was very proud. Capitaine, I think your solution is a good one for the game; and thank you for doing the many hours of work to help extend First Eagles beyond the Western Front. 1 Quote
+ojcar Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 I think the medals pack is very good as is. Not a great issue to me the NCO receiving officer medals. I think the medals pack adds a lot of inmersion to the game an I'm very grateful to you, mon Capitaine! 2 Quote
