+gerwin Posted March 28, 2013 Author Posted March 28, 2013 A Fill tool should be easy to implement. Copy mouse coordinates to windows clipboard too. Also I think I know how to read the object locations from the TOD files. (It holds IEEE 32-bit float coordinates within a 2000 range, being a tile of 2000x2000 meters) Making TOD files form scratch is a whole different matter, but the TW editor does it just fine already. Yesterday I managed to open a tilemap with the TW editor :) But first things first, it is not worth it when the allegro library is unreliable. Quote
10107 Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Yes yes TODs, but can it be possible to make a drag and drop application in your current tool set? Quote

Yesterday I managed to open a tilemap with the TW editor :) But first things first, it is not worth it when the allegro library is unreliable. What about viewing and editing TOD objects ( trees / houses/ buildings)? So many times I find that trees and buildings are randomly placed such as right in the middle of streets or other weird locations. Quote
+Stary Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 So many times I find that trees and buildings are randomly placed such as right in the middle of streets or other weird locations. that's because making and placing them in TE is a PIA 1 Quote

+Stary Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 commonly user as PIA=Pain in Ass but thank you Captain Obvious Quote
Icarus999 Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 that's because making and placing them in TE is a PIA I understand... that is why I am looking for an easier tool to place them. Quote
+Stary Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 so do I Icarus, with possibility to select multiple objects, group them, copy groups of objects, merge between tiles etc, now making forests is ok, but cities are very, very time consuming Quote
+gerwin Posted May 1, 2013 Author Posted May 1, 2013 (edited) Uploaded a new version v0.85 - copy mouse coordinates to clipboard - shows the 'movement routes' points (reload with left-shift + M) - provided the necessary palette colours in exported water maps for friendly (green) and enemy (yellow) naval zones. - planning map output can be adjusted through settings in TFDtool.ini I disabled modifying the 'Tag value' by default, as usually it is toggled by accident. Edited May 1, 2013 by gerwin Quote
arthur666 Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Whoa... I literally haven't used the TFD editor in 3 months before opening it earlier today, and now there's an update? Awesome! Excellent update! Quote
krfrge Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Gerwin, Is it possible to have the program count more than 512 target areas? KRFRGE Quote
+gerwin Posted May 1, 2013 Author Posted May 1, 2013 (edited) Uploaded a new version v0.86 - Drag with left mouse button pressed from point 1 to point 2: copy mouse coordinates of point 1 relative to point 2 to the windows clipboard. The most simple idea I could come up with for pointing out target locations (point 1) relative to their target area origin (point 2). Beware though that the Target[001].Heading of a runway may complicate matters, as they displace all targets of a certain Airfield. - Right mouse button copies global coordinates like ctrl+C already did. - Mouse wheel controls the zoom level. - Target areas datastructure enlarged to 768 areas. - Movement routes are shown as lines, the labels show 'G', 'T' and 'S' for the three types of routes. - Target area radius is shown (edit, made this optional). Edited May 1, 2013 by gerwin 2 Quote
krfrge Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Gerwin, Thank you so very much for expanding the target area datastructure. Many thanks KRFRGE Quote
+Wrench Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 (edited) the new features are frakking amazing!! As it was, it's been saving me hours of moving stuff (showing WHERE retiling is necessary). with the referesh view, that really helps! Edited May 2, 2013 by Wrench Quote
+gerwin Posted May 3, 2013 Author Posted May 3, 2013 Good to hear that! I added a little visual feedback regarding the mouse-selected coordinate in v0.87. 1 Quote
slick cowboy Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 I'm trying this out and I already managed to edit a few things, but when i hit esc to save, it crashes... every time and all is lost i read that it doesn't like 1024 tiles... could that be it? Quote
slick cowboy Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 (edited) hmm update, tried it with the stock desert terrain 256 tiles, but crashed when i hit Esc. version is 0,85 edit and downloaded 0,87, now.... it works Edited May 9, 2013 by slick cowboy Quote
+gerwin Posted May 10, 2013 Author Posted May 10, 2013 don't know what went wrong there...neither can i figure why v0.87 would fix it. Only very old versions have problems with large tiles, new versions are fine. if the problem comes back let me know. Quote
10107 Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Oh the click and drag for the offset ranges....just awesome. Thanks for the continued work. Quote

+gerwin Posted September 11, 2013 Author Posted September 11, 2013 TFDtool v0.88 is now available. Note: I have made some changes to the data reading and data structure, which should be an improvement, but have not been tested that well. Changes: - Save anytime with S-key. - Supports non-stock Tilemap size in meters. - Supports non-stock Tilemap to Heightmap ratios. - Shows loading progress percentage with TFD and HFD files. 'ESC' key cancels loading. - Flexible memory allocation for most of the Terrain data, which decreases memory use a lot. - Checks Disk Space before exporting images. - A little faster scoll movement when zoomed out. Thanks to SiddDog for trying TFDtool 0.88 past week. 2 Quote
