1 pointView File 23d Wing Pope AFB 1994 23d Wing Pope AFB 1994 In the 1990s, the USAF experimented with composite wings that would have everything needed within a single unit for deployment into a regional fight. The 23 Wing was formed in 1992 to bring about this vision, as applied to direct support of US Army forces. By 1994, 4 squadrons were ready at Pope AFB NC to support the US Army's 82d ABN DIV at neighboring Fort Bragg. The 2d and 41st Airlift Squadrons flying the C-130E Hercules, the 74th Fighter Squadron flying the F-16C/D Block 40 Vipers, and the 75th Fighter Squadron flying the A-10A Warthog. As is tradition for the 23d Wing, which traces its lineage to the Flying Tigers of World War 2, every aircraft in the wing sported a sharks mouth. This mod brings together everything needed to get the 23d Wing into the fight. Complete aircraft (including a newly revamped F-16D Block 40 from ravenclaw007), period specific weapons, sounds and effects. Included Viper Team F-16C Block 40 and 75th FS skin ravenclaw007/Viper Team F-16D Block 40 and 75th FS skin Dels C-130E_SKE with 2d ALS, 41st ALS Grey and 23d Wing Euro 1 skins Various period specific weapons (actively in use 1994-1996) Installation unzip folder * drop into mod folder of your choice * allow overwrites Known Issues The C-130 and its weapons are primarlily eye candy. There are unfortuneatly no paratroop drop missions in SF2, and so if you want to drop say 1/325 INF onto a drop zone, you will need to select a recon mission and punch those partarooper out by hand I have been having issues getting the LAPES Sheridan tank to create a "crater" after dropping. it is still included for the visuals of puching a tank out the back of a Herk, and because there was still an Airborne Armor Bn at Bragg in 1994. But at this time the tank will disappear on contact with the ground Credits Viper Team all F-16 models included ravenclaw_007 tweeked F-16D model and templates (C and D) Dels C-130E_SKE model killerbee331 original weapons pack that many armaments are drawn from here malibu43 2_LAU-88 mod to carry 4 Maverick rather than 6 XRAY base skin for 75th FS 94 yakarov79 LAPES M551 Sheridan and tech support with said tank daddyairplanes skins, tga work, much research, various ini edits, new TW inspired loading screens test team NightshadeP/R, allenjb42 and special thanks to William Godwin (callsign Radio), 23d Wing Historian at Moody AFB I hope you enjoy this mod. After 12 years total at Ft Bragg (all but 4 of them seeing the Hogs overhead near everyday) this one was a bit more personal than some other mods daddyairplanes aka Kevin Unruh 4 July 2022 XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX UPDATE 31 DEC 20220 XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX After further research on other Hog units, and closer examination of the TW model, i have included Spectre8750's A-10A_93 model with updated numbers list. I also changed several serials after determining that they were at other bases in 1995. The deduction I used to find the C-130 serials didnt work as well for the Hogs. But it is fixed and I even discovered two Tiger Shark Hogs that were still in Euro 1 camoflage at the time. The A-10A_93 features two skins for the bulk of the gray birds and the two green ones. ************************************************************* This is freeware; it CANNOT be distributed unless permissions are granted by myself. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics DCS: Mirage F1 Early Access After more than three years of active development, the DCS: Mirage F1 is now available in Early Access. Aerges Engineering is very excited to bring you this new module and we are sure that it will provide you endless entertainment. The Mirage F1 is an iconic French fighter from the Cold War era. The module offers the unique experience of flying this powerful 1970s Western aircraft in DCS. Although this aircraft is equipped with piloting aids it requires a skilful hand to fly accurately and maximise its capabilities. As an all-weather interceptor, the Mirage F1 is equipped with the Cyrano IV-M radar, multiple air and ground modes, and a variety of heat-seeking and radar-guided air-to-air missiles including the AIM-9J, MATRA R550, and MATRA R530. The Mirage F1 is also a capable air-to-ground platform that can be equipped with a large variety of unguided bombs and rockets. Early Access Features: The early access Mirage F1 CE will be available in an almost complete state. As development continues, the other Mirage F1 versions planned include the EE, BE, and M. Some of the most interesting features available at the release date are: Professional Flight Model (PFM) based on performance and engineering data of the real aircraft. Situations of high angle of attack and outside the flight envelope behaviour such as stalls and spins which are accurately represented. Extensive and detailed simulation of all flight systems: Flight control system, both in its normal electro-hydraulic mode and in degraded modes. SNECMA Atar 9K-50 engine including full envelope, damage, compressor stalls, flameouts and emergency modes. Cyrano IV-M radar, a unique Cold War era radar in DCS. Full Electric system. Detailed Hydraulic system. Fuel system. Navigation suite: Navigation Indicator (IDN), TACAN, VOR and ILS. Autopilot. Radios: TRAP 136 and TRAP 137B. Electromechanical 1970s era Thomson optical sight, a predecessor of present-day HUDs. ALE-40 countermeasure suite. Internal and external lighting. Armament system. RWR. Extremely high-quality 3D model, based on blueprints and laser scanning of a real Mirage F1. Includes animations, lights and a damage model. Very accurate 6-DOF (Degrees of Freedom) cockpit with realistic and detailed instruments and controls. Variety of air-to-air and air-to-ground weapons, some of them not seen before in DCS: Short range IR missiles: MATRA R550 Magic I, AIM-9 J, AIM-9 JULI, AIM-9 B and AIM-9P. Medium range missiles: MATRA R530 IR and EM. Rocket launchers: MATRA F1 and F4. Antirunway Durandal and cluster Belouga bombs. SAMP family of bombs (both free fall and parachute equipped) Laser guided GBU-10, GBU-12 and GBU-16. Other American and Spanish made bombs. Sound modeling based on recordings from the real aircraft. Extremely realistic flyable simulation of the Mirage F1 CE, EE, BE, and M models. The EE, BE, and M will be released after the initial release of the CE. AI models for most other variants of the Mirage F1: C, CT, CR, EQ, EDA… A vast variety of liveries for the different countries that operated the aircraft. Interactive training and practice missions that will help you gain proficiency in the F1. PDF user manual that will give you pilot level understanding of all the systems in the aircraft. The Mirage F1 is now available in Early Access. Do not forget to take advantage of the 20% Early Access discount. Purchase now and experience this 1970s aircraft! We await your feedback. Thank you again for your passion and support, Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics

1 pointView File LOD Exporter for Blender I tried to implement the exporter only based on the information I found by investigating LOD files. I'm not a 3D Modeler myself. I only tested the exporter with rather simple object (hierarchies). The bottom line is that I have no idea if the exporter works for you. So please give feedback. 1.) Installation Open the Blender User Preferences - Add-ons Tab (File -> User Preferences... -> Add-Ons) Click "Install from File..." Browse to and select the exporter python script "io_export_sf2_lod.py" Click "Install from File..." (or double click on the script name) In the Add-Ons Tab under Supported Level select Testing and enable "Import-Export: Strike Fighters 2 LOD Exporter" The LOD exporter is now installed and enabled. Under File -> Export you should see the menu item "Strike Fighters 2 LOD (.lod)". It's greyed out until an exportable object is selected. 2.) Usage Select the object you want to export and click File -> Export -> Strike Fighters 2 LOD (.lod) The file browser opens. In the lower left area you see the LOD exporter options: -enable/disable writing the out file (text file with information about the exported object(s)). -enable/disable animation export -allow decals: This option is similar to the option in the original TW-Exporter: "Exporting using AllowDecals=0 causes the vertex to be shared, so it can reduce the size of the .LOD but also causes decals to "bleed" along the edges." This dialog setting is used as default for all objects to be exported. However, it can be overwritten by each individual object via the custom object property "AllowDecals" = 0(false) or 1(true) The selected object and all child objects are exported. Two custom object properties are supported by the exporter: -AllowDecals = 0 or 1, This option is similar to the option in the original TW-Exporter: "Exporting using AllowDecals=0 causes the vertex to be shared, so it can reduce the size of the .LOD but also causes decals to "bleed" along the edges." -UseFlatNormal = 0 or 1, if set to 1 then all vertex normals are pointing straight up (normal = (0,0,1)) in the objects local coordinate system. Please note! The objects must meet the following requirements: -No scaling in the Transform Properties allowed (that means: scale x = y = z = 1.0). If your object has scaling, it should be applied to the mesh (Ctrl-A) Scaling is only allowed for animations. -A material must be assigned to the object. Only the first material of an object is exported. The following material parameters are exported: -Diffuse Color (the lod file format also contains ambient color. Currently the exporter set ambient color = diffuse color) -Specular Color -Specular Intensity -Specular Hardness (I think in 3ds Max it's called glossiness) -if "Shading -> Emit" > 0.0 then self illumination is enabled -Transparency (if transparency is enabled, then the object doesn't cast and doesn't catch shadow. if transparency is disabled, then the object cast and catch shadow. The specific LOD format version the exporter writes, doesn't support arbitrary cast/catch shadow combinations. The other LOD formats I don't understand enough (yet). Sorry!) -Alpha -Mirror Reflectivity -Diffuse texture image name (as diffuse texture the exporter uses the texture where "Influence -> Diffuse -> Color" is enabled) -Normal map texture image name("Influence -> Geometry -> Normal" is enabled and the Normal value is also exported) -Specular map texture image name("Influence -> Specular -> Intensity" is enabled) -Normal and specular map can only be used together with a diffuse map. (If I exported a normal or specular map without diffuse map, then the LOD wasn't shown in the game or the game crashed. I don't know why...) Animation Export: This exporter supports the following object animation types: location, rotation and scaling. Frames 10, 20, 30, ..., 100 are exported as animation 1 Frames 110, 120, 130, ..., 200 are exported as animation 2, ... 3.)Credits: Thanks to logan4 and angelp who provided me with specific lod files that helped me to understand the lod file format better. 4.)Changelog: Version 0.1: -initial release Version 0.2: -bugfix: didn't work in blender version 0.79 Version 0.3: -animation support -added custom object properties: "AllowDecals" and "UseFlatNormal" Submitter mue Submitted 04/30/2018 Category Utilities / Editors
