Maybe for 1948, but in real life ... as in all the 3W game, Western Air Defenses are viturallly non existant. I mean, c'mon...Quad 50s???? Isreal got it first HAWKS in ~1963 (one of my books mentions a kill by them in that year); I'd assume they'd have all kinds of either US or Euro stuff. We all remember the CNN reports of US and Isreali HAWK and Patriot systems firing in Gulf War 1. Things you can do: add the folllowing western AD units: US 90mm gun (at my site) M-42 Duster Bofors (from the WW2 mods) Chapparels (4 different models in TMFs weapons pak, plus the standard, original version in the pasko pak) Stinger site As these are all set as "AAA", the game engine will add them at random places on the map. Don't be surprised if the Bofors gun dosen't show up...you might need to change the NationName= to "Isreal". I think it's RAF right now. This is definately something that needs more research...other than HAWKS, what other units did they posess, from say 1950 on... I haven't started it yet, but I hope to post of target area additons for generic AD site, probably using a moded layout from Nick Bell's NATO AD mod; probably add a few more AA units to defend the HAWK batteries. "Destroyed" as in covered with wreckage, but still flyable from?? Yes. I flattened the runways and made them operational. I think it gives it a real lived in/at war look with the destroyed buildings. Some things just don't have time to get fixed.... I figured that somebody in the Global Sedition had trained at Kelly, and had a bad experience there, and took out some revenge (got the idea from some movie or book I'd seen recently...can't remember the name, or which. Sort of like the IJN sub commander that shelled the refinery at Santa Barbara...'rumour has it' he was a tanker captain before the war, and had an incident there, and was shamed. Took it out on them the first chance he could get. Personel connection: my Dad's National Guard unit was rushed up there -via bus!!- shortly thereafter.) Wrench kevin stein

Hmm...I've got plenty of pictures he could use, from my large and extensive collection. That I use for nose art. Of course. Oh, sure!!! Pick on the unemployed guy!!!! I gotta do something to fill the hours!! What's wrong with my regular site??? Other than needed an update with the stuff from the last 6-8 months....and needing to split The Bird Farm into a couple of pages (it is kinda big right now...too much stuff on that one page)...clearing out all the dirty pictures.... Looks like the consensus is going to be 'everyone gets to use it'. I'm ok with that. Just that a lot of my stuff is based off other's work. A lot of our Dev A-Team stuff, Wolf's WW2 birds, etc. Fine, ok..whatever... I'll rewrite my "Legal BS" statement. But I'm NOT taking out the 'bribes accepted' clause!!! Dosen't the SMBD already have a cockpit??? Just reference the Sa'ar to that one. And the mystre 4 As to the fishbeds, just tell them end users to go grab Paladrains...they're gonna want to do that at some point 15/17/19/Su7 still with the Scooter (or ADs Su17 pit) On my Lybia Mir5BA, I just used the pit from the TMF's 5B. I'll have to find them...it's a really crappy mod using Monty's A-1. We'd really need to use RazBams 4 seater (which I don't have) It's also missing the additional verticle fins on the stabs, too. Funny you should show a TBM-3E...I've one of them too. Needs a better skin (drawing rivets be a beeeeatch), and also lacks the little fins. Uses the standard 'body', so it's got the full greenhouse and turret. Wrench kevin stein

which guns???? I'm assuming the Axis powers are missing?? All the Allies stuff is pretty stock (30, 50, 20mm etc). I thought the Invincible was a British boat?? The reason they're undestructable is the collision meshes, that make them a runway. You can remove them, and thereby create a "normal" ship for say, convoys or in port scenery, but then you can't use them to fly from. You'd need to create a 'copy' thats destructable. When asked, I don't think I've ever said no. Just put my name in the readme... that's why I use this little bit I call "Legal BS" in every one of my readmes... I expecially like the last line Hell, I even ask my own Team-mates to include OUR own stuff...I've always thought it was the considerate, thoughtfull thing to do. Umm...all of them??? Actually, what I did was copy/paste the data above into the F.4, both IDF and EAF F.8s, and the NF.13 beta. Seems to wrok on the parked birds; their hood's open on the ramp. I don't mind not being able to open my canopy via a keystroke. It's not that big a deal. (in other words, I STILL haven't figured it out..key assignements and such ) Wrench kevin stein

Yep, but I couldn't find anything to use as a "resort", so just use Harlingin Airport. BTW, the museaum pieces are NOT included ... couldn't figure out who made what, so unfortuanately, the end users will have to transfer them over from their WW2 maps. The layout to copy/paste into the targets and types ini, is in the readme. Wrench kevin stein ps: the damn planning map3 is MOST of the size of this!!!! pps:: OH RATS!!! I forgot the add the placement for the USS Texas (ie: Hinch's Iron Duke).. I'll figure out the x/y on that, and post the positions later...got a rotten cold/flu/allergy attack and fell lousy...

F-16A Arab Nations (mod by Gepard, aircraft by Team Viper) Ok, first off, you'll be wanting to update that cockpit to the laters avionics70.dll. And nothing could be easier!!! We have a wonderfull, fully functional cockpit in the IDF's F-16A. So, all you need to do, is change the pointers in the F-16Arab.ini to use that new and absolutely fabulous STOCK! cockpit...and you don't even have to extract any files to do it!!! Open the F-16Arab.ini, and use the following...you know, do the standard copy/paste thingy.... You'll note the 2 lines I've pointed to, copied right from the IDF Netz. It works perfectly!!! As to a hangar screen, there isn't one at present, but I'm sure someone will make one. Now, we're going to be adding some new or modified weapons ... so MAKE DOUBLE DAMN SURE YOU HAVE THE WoI WEAPONS EDITOR!!!! Otherwise, you're entire weaponsdata ini will take a humungous nose dive into the sewer... copy/paste the following into the weapondata ini using your text editor of choice. NOTE: these are 'nationalizations' of existing weapons in the TMF Pak. 3/18/08: Updated USAF-style Weapons start years!! Added Additional USAF-style Weapons!! Please make corrections in your installs!! Where *** is the next number in sequence.. 3/18/08: Added additonal weapons needed for forthcoming EAF F-4E Phantom Mod Do the usual and by now well expected ini dance with the editor, and that's all for that. That TER and the various bombs will also come in handy if anyone ever deciedes to build us an Egyptian F-4 Phantom.... data ini: As far as I can tell, the Operations Years and all the stuff at the top is fine...so,we're just gonna roll on down to the Weapons Stations... You'll note the addition of "CHINA"; although I'm pretty sure that might be wrong. It does, however, open up more weapons for use as they become availalbe via updates or additions to the TMF pak. Loadout ini: You'll note the commented out "RackType=" lines in the STRIKE loadout. You an always remove the comments (the // double slashes), activating the TER, but I'd reccomend switching down to a lighter bomb (meaning: you'll have to create an Egyptian Mk.82 - which we should probably have anyway) Wrench Kevin Stein

Ok folks...what we're going to be doing here, is having a look at existing aircraft, or create mods of existing aircraft for use in a Historic Wings Over Isreal install. We'll be looking at the years 1948 - to date, so expect to be getting some WW2 aircraft and weapons. The loadouts and data ini adjustments will be based on using The Mirage Factory's newest pak. In many cases, like before, we'll be adding 'nationalized' weapons for those aircraft needing them, or where they don't exist. In some cases, we'll be importing items from the Bunyap Pak to bring those weapons over for use by the various nations in question. Or, as usual, creating a 'nationalized' copy of an already existing weapon. As always, feel free to post questions or comments in the Main Forums in the "WoI Historic Mods Thread" in the Mods/Skinning Forum. Let's get started.... When the "Factroy Place" and "Truck Depot" first came out, they were (actaully, the ground_plattes) were defined as 'medium runway', effectively making them airfields...they would light up. Unfortunately, you'd wind up trying to take off from inside one of the buildings...with spectacular explosion results. So, at present, no. that's the line...don't worry about the drop down, you just want them to NOT load by default. Don't forget, you need to use that line for each missile you don't want to load. Have a look at the Yak-25 Firebar's loadout in the KB Loadout thread, you'll see a bunch of 'do not loads' Now, I haven't checked it in WoI yet, but it still works in SF/WoV/WoE (who know what'll happen after the patch....) store the zip off site somewhere, like a personal website, and post the links' url ... make sure it's zipped. DOn't think the board will accept "ini" as a file type You know, you all could just use the Mirage Factory's 23MF...that's what I did. SImple matter to just change the nation and decal pointers in the decals ini. Mind you, the camo colors might be 'off' for the region, but it works! As to the others....well, let's see what Doc Neles data does.. I"d like to have all three of the 3rdW Floggers flyable...right now they're porked!!! Of course, all MiGs should splat Wrench kevin stein ps: in a aside, and don't tell anyone...the full F-4B cockpit, lods, bmps, tgas, etc, can be found in my F-89C upgrade. Since WoI is the only game that dosen't have it.....and it wasn't out yet, there didn't seem to be a problem with uploading it. -
A quick look in the objectdata.cat, shows the existence of the A-4B pit lod and needed gauges bmps. The Hunter and F-100 are the ones missing; which is no real problem for most folks have WoE to extract them from. Those that don't have the Hunter (SF/WoV) can just use the F-100. Depending on the pak used; and for this I'd most definatley have to reccomend building up on the TMF pak, weapons in the campaign will have to be 'adjusted' as well. Shafir 1 is the TMF pak; didn't the Mir3CJ use French IRMs when first entering serivce?? Be careful with some of the nationalized weapons for the Arab nations...some of them don't want to show up or load, no matter what seems to be done to them. It may be a simpler, easier matter to just let them carry non-hisotircal Soviet weapons. (as stated in another thread, set the Hunters attachment to "WP", and use the UV32 and FAB250) I've got a pak built, based on the TMF one that has all the early stuff already put in. The only thing I haven't done, it switch Wolf's P-51 rocket rack to mount the 60#ers...still set for HVARs. If anyone is interested... I think the gunjams are hard coded...I'm not sure I'm liking that feature... As to Meteor variants, we have the EAF F.4 and F.8, the IDF F.8, my (mostly) complete IDF NF.13 - I think it need decaling or something...been a while. Can't remember if the EAF used NF.13 or NF14 (I have both as RAF versions -remember, these are Beta aircraft, with some flaws) More later... Wrench kevin stein
