  3. Well, OFF rocks but the vid as a bit too long... too much "see - those far pixels are enemies" and only a very brief tour over the scenery which looks awesome.
  4. You can imitate refuel with warp - Alt+N. AFAIK, you don't consume any fuel for distance covered in this mode. But the exit moment is kinda random..
  5. The cup holder would have to be pretty flexible to prevent spilling stuff at vairious g-s. Unless you plan to fly an AWACS
  6. I was thinking about some sort of improvement to campaign engine, but a bit more complex. Kinda killing (at least maiming) three birds with one stone: briefing, recon and ground targeting. Here's my crazy idea of how a strike misson should be arranged... Recon flights go over possible targets and take actual pictures. Not necessarily player's flight - they could be doing something else at the time. The important thing is that the game loads terrain and objects rendering - they're not rendered while we're browsing through menus. Various flights are assigned strike missions against photographed targets. If this is the first day of campaign some pre-made pictures could come in handy. The idea is that once the campaign engine gets the picture of target zone it remains valid for some time or until any strike is performed against the target. If player is assigned a strike mission a briefing comes up. A picture of target zone is shown with primary (and secondary?) targets marked. Any AAA or parked planes caught in sight should also be marked (with ID?). Note, that to make it possible a "recon picture" taken by game engine sould also be supplied with a file (simple text will do) storing data about relative coordinates of objects caught in picture frame. The pic itself should be taken with such zoom level to place a target zone entirely within frame, so that situations, when a building that should be attacked is not on the pic, were impossible. Well, maybe AAA is not that important to stretch the pic. Everyone knows it's there  Strike mission. Every object in target zone is targetable (an extra button to select buildings?) You find primary target as you remember the from pic (maybe a cropped image of target as an overlay on map screen for reference). The whole thing will require additional modeling of recon planes and creation of recon squadrons, I guess. Oh, and if no recon pics are available (recce flight shot down) armed recon option into "fog of war" seems like an option. Maybe I'll drop it at TK forums as soon as they're back... Just want to hear a Word from the Man. Normal-sized screen but the rest of description fits. Use padlock to keep track of some targets but TrackIR makes it not that necessary.
  7. Hm... would look nice on WW2 birds...
  8. ...Just thinking aloud... Maybe TK could use a pilot with such experience for more FM testing?
  9. MiG-25 can
  10. You won't get that experience with stock SA-2, I think. At least not after 40-65 seconds. Real C-75 booster stage burns for 3 secs, main engine has enough fuel for 25. Then it self-destructs.
  11. I remember someone posting pics with nuke delivery methods. They weren't dropped from level flight but rather flinged in the direction of the target
  12. In WoI one Shilka can ruin any attempts to attack a tank group. Fit Skyhawks with extra holes in a second. I'm glad these things don't travel with trucks.
  13. Interpret.. Hmm.. Two ECM pods and SAMs without home-on-jam?
  14. Then came the SA-6...
  15. Then the plane balanced itself in a flat spin...
  16. Got unrecoverable flat spin in stock WoI F-4. Started as a tail-forward fall... Then got the same flying Kfir. This time recovery was quite easy, although seeing -70 on speed indicator at first was spooky.
  17. Hmmm.. are you sure you can't attach more stuff to posts? Maybe you just need to increase your number of posts - I think limits are raised for every higher rank. You're 3 posts away from getting ValuedMember badge.
  18. Well, not "demo section" - you colud just name the upload so that it would be clear that it's a WiP.
  19. Animated screen. Wow... Aren't there any software capable of doing frame by frame video cut? VirtualDub has an option to save video as image sequence. Maybe upping demo to downloads section will work?
  20. A-4 get an upgrade to (73) version in the course of campaign. This one will have ECM, RWR, chaff and flares. Until that - hold tight.
  21. I remember finding a basic VBS out of curiosity. IIRC, there was a player-controllable sheep.
  22. I don't think so... The game world is crowded as it is. Traders, pirates, police with flashing lights.. I think there are a few animals and plants on some planets too.
  23. Anything close to this? Although ship design is done via built-in generator. http://www.a-astra.com/ The game differentiates between athmospheric and open space flight. Trying to fly above ground without a wing is lethal. And no loading time between space and planets.
  24. Well, all deltas seem rather hard to control after the patch. But you might get more out of them, if you avoid combining elevator and aileron input - those use same control surfaces after all... Noticed another thing - these things (at least Neshers) are not very well balanced. Actually awfully balanced if you carry any ordnance. Flies well if you keep it level - try a roll and it' will resist. And if you flip over and push the stick, the plane with go into a spin. Dropping all the weight under wings is necessary for gunfight.
  25. Yeah... that's why no one will get annoyed by Russian AGMs like "Vikhr". You have to keep plane flying straight at the target and keeping it locked intil the hit.
