  1. Missile launch sounds, guns, explosion events, engine & afterburner sounds, flaps, landing gear, airbrakes, landing sounds, RWR tones, the IRM search & acquistion tones, etc....to name a few
  2. For adding sounds to coded events That's been broken since the initial release of SFP1, back in November of 2002. The developer (TK) stated many years ago that he never finished coding it, and did not intend to, as he had bigger fish to fry, at the time. BTW, all development work stopped on the first gen with the release of the '08 patch, and the WoI-Suez add on.
  3. That's a completely different event, and will not work unless you redesignate the drop tank a "missile" (and accept the fact that it will now no longer serve as a fuel tank).
  4. There's nothing one can do in that case (and that goes for bomb-release and counter-measures as well). All sound effects must be associated with a coded event, and there's no such event for tank-release.
  5. Once the missile leaves the rails, it will climb to altitude, and acquire the target on its own, you can then designate another target and fire another Phoenix at it. I have a video somewhere of exactly that....
  6. About 100 nautical miles.
  7. Now, that's what I call a real four-holer. Four fresh holes below the water-line.
  8. Marcelo's is the Kiev, which is a VTOL-only aviation cruiser. That might be Julhelm's project 1143.7 (Orel). If that's the case, it's still a WIP.
  9. If it's of any help, in RL, that's known as a NACA duct.
  10. There should be a few Google sketchup oil platform models at Google's 3D warehouse.

    Twister

The tornado that hit Tuscaloosa, Alabama, was reportedly a mile wide (1.6 km) at its base. I believe that even a MOAB would come up quite short against something of that power. I once encountered three waterspouts (tornados on the ocean's surface) off the Florida keys. Avoiding them made for an interesting and rather creative boat-handling drill....and one that I'd rather not find myself repeating.
  12. By creating an entirely new campaign. You cannot "fly" for both sides in the same campaign.
  13. Wrench has one (created from the freighter destroyed model), set up as a terrain object.
  14. Then you should be OK, as long as you're running in DX10 mode. With every patch, TK seems to have made the series more and more shader-dependant.
  15. Really? Ya don't say.....
  16. Obviously not in a ThirdWire .lod format.
  17. The "UberAI" mod has been obsolete for some time now. The AI in the '08 patch for SFP1, and the AI in all flavors of SF2, do not require it, and in fact, would be adversely effected by it. Besides, it's possible to tailor each and every FM by adding and editing the various AI sections.
  18. The quickest fix I can think of, is to add these entries to the data.ini, just under the flight control section, and adjust them to suit your tastes. [AIData] TakeOffRotationAngle=15.0 MaxPitchCombat=22.5 <---------adjust here MaxPitchForAltitude=15.0 <---------and here Otherwise, the only other fix that comes to mind, is to get C5 to rewrite the FM, or at least to redo the drag/alpha table sections for all the lift surfaces, using 1-degree interpolation (instead of the default 5-degree values). Come to think of it, Caeser, if you have the time, you can create a spreadsheet that will accomplish the same task, using the existing "coarse" values, and interpolating the single degree data points bewteen them.
  19. Happy Easter to all.
  20. You're not going to like the workaround.....upgrade to Windows 7 and get a DX10 compatible video card. It seems that ThirdWire has optimized the sim for DX10 shaders, even to the point that TK has announced that eveything he releases from now on will be DX10 only.
  21. That's a pretty common issue. I've even seen it were someone's started a thread, directly above a thread asking the very same question, in its freaking title! We've even had a few "veteran" posters start "QnA" threads, where every single question that they've asked, could have been answered with no more than a five minute search through the knowledge base.
  22. Chaparrals, Hawks, Nikes, Terriers, Talos, Seasparrow, SM1`and SM2, are all available
  23. But how many of them are armed with Terrier missiles? Specifically, nuke-tipped ones?
  24. BTW, Kev.... Here's a nice, big mat of Sargassm weed, just off the continental shelf.
  25. I have an issue of Proceedings from 1981 that argues against that. There were no Hornets operational in the fleet in November of 1981.
