  1. Enemy skill is either hard or medium.
  2. Auto roll? Sounds as if you given both sides the same Ymac coordinates. Left is always a negative value (ie, Ymac=-0.935), while the right surface is always postive.
  3. Streak, Either you don't play the sim very often, or you are limiting yourself to a very limited mission type or scenario. I cannot keep track of the times that I've bounced enemy formations, or the enemy bounced my flight. I'm I'm not talking about just bouncing formations of bombers or strike aircraft, either.

  5. Yes. The news crapsters are doing a great job of inciting panic. The super markets and gas stations have lines (its mostly due to the transplanted cityiots in my neck o' the woods). My response to the whole affair?
  6. That's not a defect....that's a feature! It's called the HU-16 "Ostrich"
  7. Looks like NYC and Boston are in for a bit of shoveling this weekend. I'm sure glad that I stocked up on beer! http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013/feb/07/us-northeast-snow-storm-new-york-boston
  8. Snailman, none of your posts, requests, or offers were offensive in any way. You are an exemplary member of the community as far as I'm concerned. There has always been a new "problem child" (or two or three, or more ) every year in the decade that I've been here, who all seem to feel that they're somehow entitled to behave rudely.
  9. In some cases that is realistic behavior. In a given scenario, such as a flight of F-86s vs MiG-15s (SF2 KAW mod), the MiG-15s wil bug out by climbing to cruise altitude when they reach a bingo fuel state. Often, they'll do so in Mil power, and the F-86s will find themselves hard-pressed to follow their lighter, more powerful adversaries. Call that a happy accident if you will, but it that case, it definetely adds to the immersion.
  10. Then the planes you listed have incorrect values. If you add a lift surface forward of the model's centerline, it should positive positional values. As I often work 16-hour days, I cannot get back to my notes and test models until Friday evening at the earliest. When I do, I will post the canard values that I'm using for the as yet unreleased Su-33. But keep in mind that in the Sea Flanker's case those are movable surfaces, whereas (if I recall correctly) the Ye-8's canards were fixed, like the Mirages and the Kfir.
  11. Rude....hmmmmm. Lemme see, constant demands, continued off-topic posting, creating multiple aliases used to badger modders into releasing projects before they're ready, yeah, that sort of behavior is not rude, right? Fine, No more hints, no more "nudge in the ribs": warnings. No more shots across the bow. Figure that one out.
  12. Have you been living under a frakking rock the last few months?
  13. Perhaps you can. Tell us, what is the formula for calculating CLa again? I seem to have somehow forgotten....
  14. A German destroyer would NOT have been out in the open Atlantic during WWII by itself in the first place. Where would it refuel and replenish? It would be a sitting duck. And sorry, your argument regarding U-boats on the surface is just dead wrong. U-boats spent the majority of the patrol on the surface during the first half of WW II. They were, after all, submersibles and not true submarines. The type XXVIs would have been the first true submarines, had any been completed.
  15. I'm surprised that no one mentioned "The Deer Hunter" yet. On the whole, I agree with Jedimaster's choices, as well as why he chose them. BAT 21 was also good, though they really "Hollywooded" the truth in that one. Here's the real story: http://vnafmamn.com/bat21.html
  16. Canards provide postive lift, not the slight static (CL0) downforce that elevators and horizontal stabs do (you are using horizontal stab values for your canards). Change this value CL0=-0.0198 to CL0=0.0198 on both canards
  17. These two are the benchmarks that really count for most of the people who come to this site. http://www.anandtech.com/show/6396/the-vishera-review-amd-fx8350-fx8320-fx6300-and-fx4300-tested/5 and http://www.anandtech.com/show/6396/the-vishera-review-amd-fx8350-fx8320-fx6300-and-fx4300-tested/6 I have no horse in this race, as I'm still using a 5-year old Core2Duo. I have also assembled more PCs in my time than I can recall, for both myself, my friends, and my customers. I have used CPUs from both AMD and Intel over the years.
  18. Did you even bother to look at the date of that post?
  19. Panama red is correct. The Xmac table should start 1/4-1/3 of the way back from the leading edge of the surface, and terminate 1/2-2/3 of the distance back from the leading edge, which in the case of a canard, should be foreward of the model's center. Also, the Xmac tables should be applied at the mean chord of a given surface.
  20. Another tip is to set the HUD in debug mode, and note the Mach level where the porpoising is at its worst. You then add the following declaration under the "flightcontrol" section of that aircraft's data.ini: AutoTrimMaxMach=X.X (where X.X is the aforementioned Mach level).
  21. You probably don't know this (yet), but: 1) One cannot add animations to models that are not already there to begin with 2) Only the model's developer (or someone with the original source file) can add animations and other physical features to a model.
  22. It's due to a shadow issue, and a time and talent issue. 1) The F-86 model lods are quite old (as models for this series goes), and have issues with shadows when used in SF2. 2) The talent (modeler) that was working on the F-86, had better and more important things to do with his PERSONAL time. Eventually, we'll get better models with bump & spec-mapping, opening canopies, etc. The extended wing is still referred to as a 6-3, because it: 1) Has a 6" deeper chord at the root 2) Still only has a 3" deeper chord at the tip extension. How did they accomplish this, despite having the aforementioned 12" span extension added to each wing? That's your quiz for the day
  23. Sorry wrench, but my statement is 100% true. Name me one TW cockpit .lod that you've seen modified beyond the texture limitations that I have already stated. And if you reread what I stated, its the lod itself he is asking about, not editing .ini files so as to rotate windscreen frames out-of-view and the like, which we have been doing for like 8-9 years now..
