Everywhere on my hard disk i have a terrain, that covers the islands of Estonia, which was the target of the biggest amphibious operation during WW (Operation Albion)! But this is not the needed area for a polish-soviet war scenario.

As far as i know there is no terrain for FE, which covers that area. By the way, its a very big area with a lot of endless forrests.

When i started the project of reworking BoB terrain i simply underestimated how many rivers there are in France. Each single Rivertile has to place by hand. Oh my!

Some years ago was a Su-34 made by Insky or so. But it was baned because it was suspected to be a result of software piracy.

The main problem with MiG-23 was, that this plane had always to flown with continous autopilot support. Without support the plane became dangerous for the own pilot very quick. This happend with MiG-23MS in Nellis. The egyptians sold only the planes, but not the documentations. So the US pilots tried to fly the MiG-23MS usually without autopilot support, which caused some crashes. The autopilot systems of the MiG-23 were improved very much during the times. The first generation autopilots were operating often to slow. This caused dangerous flight incidents. In the LSK (East German Air Force) the MiG-23BN had had such first gen autopilots. IIRC nearly all MiG-23BN which we lost, crashed because the autopilot failed. The MiG-23MF autopilot was much better but the plane was still a pure interceptor with outstanding acceleration and poor agility. The MiG-23ML had a much improved autopilot, was much lighter and stronger. While the MF was limited by 7g, the ML was limited by 8.5 g. The best agility the plane got with the "unofficial" swing wing position of 30°, not 45 as officially demanded. With this wing setting the plane was able to do a 360° turn in less than 22 seconds (or was it 23 seconds?). The MLD had a further improved autopilot and the dogtooth on fixed wing, which improved the agility even more. In 1990 the USAF recieved a gift by the german government. It were nearly all MiG-23ML of the LSK and the complete documentation. The planes were used in Nellis and afterwards the complaining about the MiG-23 stopped. MiG-23ML at Ramstein AFB shortly before handed over to the americans.

Here the real UAZ in real life. Look at the headlights on the car. This are covered with camo "folds". At this Trabi Kübel, called "Stoffhund" by the troops, you see the "folds" in the "off" position The UAZ were mostly used without the recoilless gun. The car was called "Russenjeep", "Fallijeep" or simply "U-A-Zed"

In summer 1940 the Battle of France was fought. British, belgian, dutch and french troops were defeated by the "Sichelschnitt", a surprising move invented by General von Manstein. In his book "Verlorene Siege" wrote v.Manstein, that his Divison got the order as part of the 9th Armee to take part in the invasion of England in an area between Bexhill and Eastbourn, Beachy Head. Close to Hastings, the last battlefield where a invasion of the islands was succesfully. Manstein wrote, that the german leadership had, after the surprisingly fast victory over France, had no plan how to continuing the war. So it came to a delay till the decision was made to try the "Operation Seelöwe" and as preludium the Air Battle of Britain. Manstein said, that if the decison to engage England would have made one or two weeks after the victory over France, german landing forces would have landed on Englands beaches around August 15th 1940. Mansteins idea to fight England was a surprise attack with no previous Air Battle. All should end in a major Battle, The Luftwaffe, Heer and Kriegsmarine should attack at the same time. For Manstein the british ground forces were the minor problem. They lost nearly all heavy weapons in Dunekirk, so that the Royal Army would have been no real danger. Dangerous could become the Air Force and the Royal Navy. But Manstein wrote, that the Royal Navy would come to late to prevent the landing of the first german wave. The Royal Navy would try to stop the second and all other landing waves. At this time it would be the job of the Luftwaffe to sink the british ships and the job of the Royal Air Force to protect the british ships. In the last weeks i have started to rework the tileset of my very old Battle of Britain terrain and soon i will start to rebuild the target areas, so that we have the chance to fight a "Operation Seelöwe" style battle in SF2. Here some screenshots while WIP. New farmtiles, but still old airfield tile. New airfield tile. A mixture between old and new coast tiles. View from high altitutes. Test of a London tile. Buckingam palace is not yet on correct place.

I think "Felon" is a bad name. The word can be easily misunderstood as "Frelon", the name of a french helicopter type, which means translated into english "Hornet".

Modifying AAA Density and other Questions
Gepard replied to ShrikeHawk's topic in Mods & Skinning Discussion
The limit are 16 air defence units per target area. This is the maximum. If you set more Flak or SAM the game engine will only use 16 of them.
