  3. I'm working now on the weapon system. But it shows strange anomalies. I does not mean that there are the wrong missiles. I choosed the SA-N-3 because it is easier to see. When the positioning of the missiles is finished i will replace the SA-N-3 by the correct weapon.
  4. View File Faroe Islands terrain Faroe islands 1.0 ***************************************************** This terrain is written for SF2NA. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I. Short description: North of Scotland you will find small groups of islands, the Shetlands and the Faroe. They are nothing more than tiny rocks, surrounded by the icy waters of the Atlantic Ocean. On the first view completly unimportant rocks somewhere in the nowhere. But a second view shows high economical values. The islands sitting in the middle of rich fishing grounds, and then, even more, there is oil. North Sea oil. But not enough. A powerfull nation, that is able to install a base at the Faroe, rules all the waters between Iceland and the british islands. A hostile nation might be even able to raise a blockade over Great Britain. This makes some scenarios possible: First the classical what if the Soviets would had captured the Faroe and the US Navy starts an attempt to push them out. Second, what if America sends the Marines? Third, what if Britain tries to defeat the Soviets with own power? Forth, what if Hitler-Germany would have captured the Faroe? Fifth, what if the EU raise a blockade over a Brexit UK? Sixth, what if Britain was bought by President Trump instead Greenland and John Bull stand up to fight fort the british independence? ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ II. INSTALLATION: To run this terrain you need SF2NorthAtlantic. Unzip all files into your saved game folder ...ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2NorthAtlantic /terrain folder. Thats it. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ III. Modifications Faroe islands terrain is made so, that you can play it out of the box. You will find a classic Cold war scenario US Navy vs Soviet forces. Other possible scenarios are prepared. Open the folder Goodies and you will find the folder Nation ini In this folder you find 6 subfolders, one for each scenarios i have descriped above. Choose the one you like. In this subfolders you find the file FAEROER_NATION.ini. Copy this file to the Faeroer folder and let overwrite the existing file and enjoy the other scenario. (BTW personaly i prefer Brexit scenario. Flying Hunters vs Hunters is really fun.) Faroe islands terrain is made so, that you has 2 fixed carrer stations. For the red side a station north of the Shetlands. For the blue side south of the Faroes. If you want to have multible carrier stations, than you must open the Subfolder "multible carrier stations" and copy the file FAROE_WATER.bmp to the Faroe folder. When i started to make Faroe islands terrain i used TOD files made by M.Broers for the IcelandNA HFD terrain. Later i found out, that on the Faroes no trees exist. So i decided to remove the TOD files. If you want trees and TOD buildings, the copy the tod files in the Faroe folder. But be aware, there are not all tiles fitted with tods. It looks a little bit strange. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ IV. Credits. The basic Tileset i took from M.Breors terrain IcelandNA HFD. The basic files for the emergency runways, parking areas and quais are made by ErikGen. The OilRig was made by RussoUK for my PersianGulf terrain.   6. It was the collisionMesh the original line was: CollisionMesh=FLIGHTDECK.LOD I had to add the folder where the flightdeck.lod is situated CollisionMesh=Kuznetsov\FLIGHTDECK.LOD Than it worked.
  7. The third cat was only intended for heavy loaded take off or later for Yak-44 AWACS planes. I have tried to include the third cat. But the plane on cat 2 appears faster, than the plane on cat 3 could take off. So plane 3 runs trough plane 2. Perhaps i can fix it. BTW, i got the planes landing on carrier. And parking planes are now always there. After a lot of unsuccessfull attempts i decided to check wheter the problem was on plane or on ship. For this i modded a A-4H. And it showed, that it was a problem of the ship. Then i found out, that the flight deck code line in the data ini was wrong. After a small edit all worked fine with the Skyhawk. Then i decided to check out the Su-33. And it worked too! Yipeeh!!!!!! Yep tactical number for Kuznetsov is 63. In original it would be 063. Is still WIP
  8. At the moment the AI Su-33 is still to high over the flightdeck, but not as much as before. I hope, that i can fix it.

For 1990 to 1991 the name is Tbilissi, the number 113 For 1992 to 2050 the name is Kuznetsov, the number is 63 (unfortunatly there is no 063) For Riga, i used the fictive number 114 from 1990 to 1991, from 1992 to 94 the name is Varjag, the fictive numer 64 Liaoning from 2010 to 2050, still no number.
  10. Some days ago a Kusnetsov carrier was uploaded. The guy, who made it wrote, that he had some problems with the data.inis. In the last days i tried to modify the inis, so that the carrier would be usefull. As i'm not a skilled object maker, it is a little bit difficult for me. But i want to show you the results which i have reached so far. Tactical number added on bow, catapults reduced to 2, instead 4, skin moved to a seperate folder, names list added Corrected position of bow effect corrected position of wake effect, changed shipsmoke to dark and placed on correct position Problem to solve: the planes are always coming in to high and will not land on deck. Kuznetsov ini files WIP.7z Has someone any ideas, how to bring the planes to land? Still to do: the whole weapon system.

  15. Correct is to say, they have stolen this terrain. In the readme i wrote that it is forbitten to use Persian Gulf Terrain for commercial things, but the YAP Copycats ignored it.

  19. There are two meanings of BaseArea. The first one: BaseArea is a trigger in campaign. If the ground forces of one side capture the BaseArea, the campaign is won for this side. The answer is, that you cant change it in a campaign, because it is connected with the terrain. The BaseAreas are part of the Strategic Nodes network. If you use existing target areas (for cities, airfields and so on) as strategic nodes the gound units appear exactly in the middle of the traget areas. To avoid such problems you could create additionally target areas in the terrain_targets.ini which are used only as waypoints for the strategic nodes.

  21. SF2 planes sometimes does not work in SF1 world. You should check, wheter the downloaded planes are made for SF2 or SF1/WoX sims. Then you should check which version of game do you use. Has you updated it to the last patch?

History What if the soviets would have introduced the Object 167 into service? Object 167 was the successor of the T-62 (object 166) with a new suspension system (was later used on T-72) and a new turbo diesel engine with 700 hp instead 580 hp in T-62. Top speed of the tank was 65 km/h on road, 40 cross country. Range around 450 km. So it was comparable with a Leopard 1 tank, but had a much better armour. There were some versions of object 167. One with gas turbine (helicopter engine), one with 100mm gun D-54TS (comparable with britisch L-7 gun) and one with 115mm smoothbore gun and ATGM Maljutka (AT-2 Sagger) The T-67, i present you here, is the version of object 167 with the D-54TS 100 mm gun. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- II.
