To relay only on jammers is deadly in reality. The Israelis learned it 1970 when they got combat proofen US Jammers for combat along the Suez Canal. The SA-3 Goa were able to penetrate the jammer. But if the planes were starting heavy maneuvres they were again able to evade the missiles. On the other side the soviets tested 1973 anti Hawk jammers in Syria with the result that MiG-21 were able to operate over the Golan without suffering losses by Hawk missiles. -
Danke. Hat geklappt. Ich habe die Bison zum runterladen in die Downloadsection gestellt.

My fault. By the way, are you interessted in to see individual ports in the kind i had done in Formosa terrain?

View File MiG-21Bison (21-93) MiG-21 Bison aka MiG-21-93 aka MiG-21 UPG ************************************* HISTORY ************************************* In 1993 the MiG-21-93 made its debut on various airshows, for instance in Le Bourget and Berlin. It was a major update for the MiG-21bis which incorporated a modern radar, a modern data link system and modern ECM capability. The MiG-21-93 had a dramatically increased combat capabilities. It now can engage air targets at medium range and can use precison guided weapons against ground and sea targets. India updated its MiG-21bis fleet to the 21-93 standard and called this bird now MiG-21Bison. The bison showed its combat efficiency in various training combats including against american F-15's. ********************************************** MiG-21Bison for WOE, WOV, WOI, SFP1 credits ********************************************** While making the Bison i used a lot of files made by other modders. Thanks for this files! The plane itself: ~~~~~~~~~~ Model by TK The Cockpit is taken from Mirage Factories MiG-29A ~~~~~~~~~ Cockpit by Mago The added objects. ~~~~~~~~~ I took the MiG-23 drop tank to create the longer MiG-21bis style back of the bird. Then i used CIACHOs AKU-58 file to create the chaff flare dispensers And finally my little share ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I edited the Data file to implement the guided missiles, added the ECM and Chaffs etc. And i modified the original Skin to create a fictional East German Bison, the russian and the Indian version. I know that the Indian Bisons are more grey than the light blue, but due the Fake pilot methode i used to place the added objects i had to decide which color this objects should have and so i decided to use a light blue instead the grey. I hope that i havent forgotten someone to give the proper credit. ********************************************** INSTALLATION ********************************************** 1. unzip into your aircraft folder The subfolder MiG-21Bison will be created 2. make sure that the following files are placed in aircraft folder, NOT in MiG-21Bison folder: MiG-21IRWerfer.LOD and bmp MiG-21Stör WPact_Pilot.LOD and bmp otherwise you will see pilots sitting on the wings of the bird. 3. Now install the backtank with following steps 3.1. Put file MiG-21Back.lod and MiG-21Back.bmp into your Weapons folder 3.2. include following lines into your weapondata.ini [WeaponDataxxx] TypeName=MiG-21bisBack FullName=MiG-21bis Backtank ModelName=MiG-21Back Mass=0.000000 Diameter=0.470000 Length=5.155000 SubsonicDragCoeff=0.000000 SupersonicDragCoeff=0.000000 AttachmentType= SpecificStationCode= NationName= StartYear=0 EndYear=0 Availability=0 BaseQuantity=0 Exported=FALSE ExportStartYear=0 ExportEndYear=0 ExportAvailability=0 WeaponDataType=5 MaxFuelAmount=0.000000 Asymmetrical=FALSE 3.3 ) open Weaponeditor and click on save Now the MiG-21bis backtank is available. I renamed the airfields by following system: 1. british coastal command airfields got Royal Navy Air Stations as example Eastchurch RAF CC became Eastchurch RNAS 2. german fighter bases became french small field runways as example Wissant Fliegerhorst became Wissant Aerodrome de champ 3. german Stukabases became french fighterbases as example Coquelles Stukahorst became Coquelles Aerodrome de Chase 4. german bomberbases became french bomberbases as example Amiens Bomberhorst became Amiens Aerodrome de Bombardier So with a simple STRG+H you could exchange this names easily. By the way, the german V1 launch stations i made to the french Radarnetwork. Here i have relocated some stations.

It is not the same terrain, it is an improved version. And of course you could use it for a modern campaign. At the moment i'm playing with the idea to make a 70the campaign with Phantoms, Mirages, Harriers etc. It is not the same terrain, it is an improved version.

Air to Ground 'winders
Gepard replied to Rambler 1-1's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
To use Flak or SAM against ground objects is not forbitten by the Convention of Geneva or the Landwarorder of Haag. Flak guns are very efficent against ground objects, you should not forget that in 1941 the majority of T-34 tanks were destroyed by 88mm Flak. Also today the 20 - 30mm Flak is very usefull against light armoured vehicles. The use of Air to Air missiles against ground targets is not american way alone. Also the Warshaw pact pilots trained the ground object shooting with the R-3S (AA-2 Atoll) missile. -
AIRFIELD QUESTION!
Gepard replied to Fishball's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
german_airfield1.ini is one example. But there are more such airfield.inis. You must extract them with SFP1E tool. You find them in the terrain cat. file -
In the last days i tried to improve the BoB60th terrain for France vs UK campaign. The most runways are new styled, Paris got bridges and some more buildings. I know the Eiffel tower is not the nicest one, but the old one i used in the old BoB terrain caused CTD, so i have to use this tower. till i will find a better one.

The MT, was'nt it the export version of the SMT which nobody wanted to buy? -
Ah ja, the nice mixture between Marder and Leopard 1. I like it.

Its a french prestige project. Airbus never built a plane with prop engines. Airbus never built a aircraft that must be able to land on grass stripes. Airbus never built a military transport plane. And you ask why it came to the delays? The german Luftwaffe prefered the AN-70 till the french insisted and chancellor Schröder gave his okay to the A-400M. What a shame. If their wont be enough transport plane types available. C-17, C-130j from the USA or the AN-70,AN-124 from the Ukraine, the IL-76 from Russia. All planes available. All planes proofen to be good, but Europe must invent the tire a second time! What for a waste of money!

Gepard replied to Erwin_Hans's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
The MiG-21MF was the export version of the MiG-21SM. AFAIK the soviets had no MF in their inventory. The soviet piloted Mig-21MF in Egypt 1970 had also only export avionics, also no RP-22. The MiG-21MF-75 was a LSK designation. The in 1975 delivered MF had a little bit different equipment and an other camo (lightblue) than the older ones. This birds were originaly intended for Cuba, not for the GDR, thatswhy it was also called "die Kuba Variante"
