McDonnell RF-4X Phantom II UPDATED w download
daddyairplanes replied to dtmdragon's topic in Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
brother, ini files are one of the easiest things to edit in this game. Notepad(the software that comes with any windows version) and knowledge are all you need. as for postiions on aircraft, if you are talking one thats already in game, try Mue's LOD viewer to get you in the rough area. it wont tell you 7.26725, 5.0085 specific, but get you 7.27 and 5. you then play with the numbers to fine tune its better still at its designed purpose, helping view skin and decal edits without firing up teh game if youre talking about an aircraft that still need to be imported into the game, i'll defer that to the modellers but as to your original question, everyone who ever made a mod, even just a simple skin, had to edit an ini -
i think one is the more likely answer. there was less incentive to have BVR capability going into teh 90s and yet the AMRAAM portion of the ICE upgrade went forward yes, i know that started on paper in teh 80s, but look at how much got cancelled or scaled back when the Bear went into hibernation.......

im conflicted great back story. pretty sure it will get expanded with an ICE upgrade allowing AIM-120s (like a certain RL McAir product) but gawd, i thought Euro 1 on an Eagle was bad you couldt do at least Norm 81 instead? (note, if i got it wrong im sure someone will correct me. but pretty sure this is Norm 81) other note, not sure why they went to they trouble with the bombs on sparrow stations. the Eagle could always carry bombs on teh wing pylons (a fact the Israelis put to use bombing Tunis in 1985) as your pics show . and give the Luftwaffe would have been concerned with the Inner German Border area in the 80s, at most you only need the belly tanks. definately not the wing tanks. even with TERs, 6 bombs vs the displayed 4 putting a designator on center pylon is pretty smart tho. self designating, unlik alot of NATO in the 80s just a couple pennies from me. feel free to use or toss as always

"NATO one niner, we wish to report a violation of UNSCR 7-8-1..." Strap in sirs. Youre about to see how the C-130s land here....

wont insurance help cover a chunk of teh replacement? i know storage facilities in NC require you to have some kind of renters insurance on teh unit, either your own or one they provided at extra cost i wish you luck on recovering the old one, but realistically its more likely getting replaced than recovered edit after reading more: take a look at xidax. i've gotten 4 systems from them now since 2015 (2 laptop, 2 desktop). all but teh very oldest laptop are frankly still beasts even in 2026. hell, my new desktop from last year is more powerful than the systems in teh game development lab at my school. a fact i overlooked making a tank sim level last year (consistently made iterations at home that crashed at school )

Time to improve the old SF2 jets
daddyairplanes replied to GKABS's topic in Mods & Skinning Discussion
for parking, alot of pics show the bottom speed brake dropped down when parked. admittedly, was looking as the chute thru the top speed brake didnt look right. i recall reading that only the sides deployed when the landing gear was down. but i wouldnt trust that memory (its not a recent one) and most landing pics actually dont show the speed brakes being used -
ok, at its heart SF2 is still a Vietnam based game why else would we be keeping track of sandbags hit?

nice historically wrong in three ways and the reason im neck deep in Hog serials now but still a nice shot mando screenie, or boss's day at the beach

gives me hope for updated Block 10 Vipers (A and B) edit 1: on a seperate note, already busy serial number hunting ANG Hogs and Vipers for the 1980s. must resist urge to add gun nosed Phantoms...... edit 2: it is rude to ask for more when someone does a mass of work. but.... it happens. i release a skin pack and promptly get asked about units in Vietnam (not interested) or post 9/11 (nah, Balad/Bagram/KAF memories can stay in my head thank you) or training units (i dont do them). after i release something covering every airframe over every year and every unit of an aircraft types career! so i get Yakarov79's point, but personally tend to let it go ok no more. got to get back to school work
