System Updates 2015, Aug 16
daddyairplanes replied to Erik's topic in Site Support / Bug Reports / Suggestions
Thank you for the update. For those that read this, we are warned. For those that forget/dont read this, it will be THE END OF THE WORLD. Ok maybe just a confusing time til sites back up :p -
Well there has been a trend that is seeing the exclusive to DAT pool of aircrsft dwindle. Thought someone had aViggen working ip here in house?
-
Why? Everything has its time. As a target drone the Phantom replaced the Sabre for the Navy and the F-102 in the Air Force. While I'd love to have Phantoms Phorever, the QF-16 offers a more modern target, about as much of a leap ahead as the Phantom was for the planes it replaced.

Or escort them. OOOOR send fighters to stop the opfor interceptors inbound. Fighter jocks need something to do other than take photos and make silly movies set in San Diego 1986.....

Many of us have used Joe Baughers site for US military serial numbers. http://users.rcn.com/jeremy.k/serialSearch.html I got to looking for serials for other countries and figured this could be a help to modders in SF2 and DCS RAF current aircraft http://www.ukserials.com/ Former RAF aircraft (gallery, not a listing like others) http://www.demobbed.org.uk/aircraft.php?s=d&type=image French Air Force (does not give a listing but explains how the system goes) http://www.aeroflight.co.uk/waf/france/af/fra-af-home.htm Luftwaffe (post 1956) http://wiki.scramble.nl/index.php/German_Military_Aircraft_Serials Overall listings http://www.aeroflight.co.uk/countries/countries-territories.htm this site needs some hunting, but many of the air arms that can be looked up give information on how their air craft are serialed Hope this can help modders of all stripes and please feel free to add to this list.

correction to my statement: the only differences in stock option ini statements will be to point mod and screenshot folders on the right path for that install. ie [Mods] ModsEnabled=TRUE Directory=C:\Users\AllenSBino\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 Editors=StrikeFighters2 [screenShots] Directory=C:\Users\AllenSBino\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2\ScreenShots Format=JPG and the dates involved [singleMission] AircraftType=F-4E_72 Service=USAF MissionMap=VIETNAMSEA MissionType=SWEEP MissionTime=RANDOM MissionWeather=RANDOM AirActivity=RANDOM AirDefenseActivity=RANDOM FlyAll=FALSE LoadMission=FALSE LoadMissionFilename=C:\Users\AllenSBino\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 Vietnam\Missions\640802_TONKIN_GULF_INCIDENT.MSN MissionDate=1972 StartYear=1964<-------------------------------- EndYear=1972<-------------------------------- EditMission=FALSE and a few other spots. the years can be editted to allow just about any range of time. they are quite different from exe to exe as my Europe and SF2 exes are set fro 1945 through 2010, but SF2NA exe was left stock. took wondering why a plane i was testing only had one usable year to go and find out i hadn't edited the dates in my NA option ini!

Not my model so its why im asking about the ini option will give it a try this afternoon.
-

lemme know when its ready to skin already gave one of your birds to the Indian AF, they might want teh other transport too...... main markings would transfer very easy. just gotta do the serials.
-
Dunno where he's at on Cobras, but he's got a couple of other nice projects in the pipline....
-
Veltro, how close is the 76 to the older version? Gonna do an Indian AF skin this week for certain and was hoping to work a civil operators skin this month. Curious as to how different the mapping will be. And things have slowed enough for me i can finally finish the C-17 and actually do the 767 now...

daddyairplanes replied to dtmdragon's topic in Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
Very nice but at that stage of the war wouldn't there be more American in RAF than British in USAAF? -
Looks like you barely got it fix (Ducks from the things about to be thrown)
