  1. pessimist in me say 25 Jun 2012. i'll be in transit for my r+r and wont know its out til i hit the states.
  2. that is new to me Soulfreak, about the patch level being in red or green. but then again i havent run the game while on the internet since Sept. also seen more complaint than praise about the patches in Oct and Nov so didnt update. to Steve1070, when you do update your patches it is cumulative. i usually wait abit to see how it's affecting the game from the experts then decide wether to or not. before patching you should 1. back up your game at the previous level so you can go back if needed, and 2. read the readme to look for issues that may affect your mods. note the emphasis on BACKING UP YOUR INSTALL.
  3. and we havent seen a skin for it yet
  4. yea but wasnt that said last year? (cues "the song that never ends"......)

    TOGA!

over? its not over.... did we quit when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?
  6. damn skippy i do. might even try my hand at makin it it that free software is up to it.
  7. just registered at work, "bought" all 3 programs. says i have til sunday to DL them tho and my next day off that i can get to non government internet is monday. will hopefully get my wife to DL stateside and mail it to me on a thumbdrive. warning to many here.... will prob need a tutorial for makin stuff. like radar bulges for Bears, maybe a C-54
  8. has anyone tried DL'ing it yet? i tried last night(my only night i can get to the net on MY personal computer) and the site wanted me to sign up for a newsletter that i couldn't get to to complete the transaction. of course with all the filters on the servers here could just be and slow as things run on the wifi could just be me.
  9. to take this off of release dates and details we can only speculate on for a moment, has anyone done recon variants of the Bear or Badger? going into how the soviets employed their bombers in RSR and RL the Backfires wouldnt be flying all over the ocean lookin for the CVBG with radar blastin. it would depend on RORSAT intel, fine tweeked by Tu95RT finding the escorts or poss. the Hawkeyes then passing the final coordinates to the strike force. even in peacetime recon Bears would be the most likely encountered.(on release cue the endless screenies of Bear intercepts! )
  10. ok i am an idiot. did the orignal placement for the radome decal on the J, then transfered to to B's decal.ini, then added the rwr_nose entry without consulting that the other entries were DecalLevel=1 not 0. bad part of my current shift is i have more time to work from 7am to 9-10 am, but the mind is a little shot while from 7-9 pm i am getting ready for work, eating and trying to get some in game work done. never ini edit when tired people! again thank you very much Blade. i think this will take the skins from multple skins for the different nose styles to one skin, one tga per squadron. or no tga for standard white noses( i believe the color looks better for the black radome as a decal)
  11. [Decal033] MeshName=rwr_nose DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=RIGHT FilenameFormat=F-4B\USNGrey1\bln Position=7.0,0.0 Rotation=0.0 Scale=10.0 DecalMaxLOD=3 [Decal034] MeshName=rwr_nose DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=LEFT FilenameFormat=F-4B\USNGrey1\bln Position=7.0,0.0 Rotation=0.0 Scale=10.0 DecalMaxLOD=3 Reverse=TRUE decal pretty much covers from tip of radome to eventually the canopy rails. the tip of the fairing in the last shot is added to the skin itself. curious what level do you have yours on?
  12. another thing i noticed, if you keep the tga names similar to stock in your decal.ini but do not have it in the folder the game seems to pull it from stock. in the last shot i have not worked on VF33 Tarsiers tail yet nor gotten as far as i would like on Buno's (damn RL) yet the game is poppin em on there. my fuselage insignia, nationname and squadron name are combined though into one, hence why the sides are empty. not a prob in the end but interesting.
  13. figured i would show some of the progress on my Navy Phantom project. based on stock TW bird but with new skin and reworked decals. doin Atlantic Fleet first, then will do Pacific later on. new decals for all stock squadrons, based on year. also makin a little accurate but within the confines of how i'm doing this it will be "historical lite"! much thanks so far to mppd, blade and storm for the help they have been givin me. VF41 circa 65-66 Red Rippers circa 65, need to change tail though VF31. the only on skin markings are the warning markings on the nose and the new walkway. with a little tweekin darker walkways will be added on as tga to those squadrons that actually had them. have a functional tga to cover the radome. looks great on J model and is decent here except for the IR fairing. note in last two pics that the windscreen frame is gray as in RL, the anti glare is tga along with the markings on the air scoops (all part of the radome tga.) if any one has ideas on the meshname for the housing i would appreciate it. Blade already suggested rwr_nose like on the D but no joy. will post more later but it took me around 35 mins to upload these the connection is so slow here. also looking forward to a care package from the wife with a few more reference materials for the 60's era and N's in the 70's.
  14. agreed, wish the Bears coulda got up there but defineatly glad new england lost and the packers didn't even get in. only caught the last 5 mins but decent game even from that.
  15. how useful might this be to someone with no 3d software currently? would like to get into(i think) but dont have the kinda money it takes to get started usually.
  16. excellent bump mapping
  17. http://combatace.com/topic/69743-usn-phantom-questions/page__st__20 its available for download about the middle of this page. i have talked to STORM and i will release it for the N as part of a Naval Phantoms pack i am working on. due to different colors for the lo viz grey and TPS schemes used later in the Navy Phantoms life, and the fact that, as fake pilot add ons, the DECM will need different skins in the DECM file as opposed to just changing the aircraft skin file. i plan to work the N model but right now am in the middle of skinning the B and B_65 and research. so as always we got two weeks to go. directions for the installation are in the zip file and the color is good for stock F-4B_67 that STORM's skins are based on. hope that helps.
  18. damn why not just tell us 42?
  19. of course. "Ryan, be careful what you shoot at. Most things in here don't react well to bullets."
  20. huh i was just reading that in the clinic this morning waiting on immunizations!
  21. looks good but your RAF must be broke since i think even Turkey retired their Huns in the 80's. and you know the TuAF kept alot of planes past their expiration date back then
  22. make sure your decal.ini is calling insignia and not insigniaLV or some such variation. the stock insignia for USAF is red white and blue, while the others are designated inigniaLV, insignia red etc.
  23. they didn't hit it enough. have they forgotten how you fix things in Russian space program?
  24. the pack here on site is excellent but a warning- it is huge! 14GB unzipped. but along with skins and very detailed decals are many photos and historical notes, as well as each skin having a readme telling you what era/deployment that skin represents. useful even as a research tool. i think the site has some other skins not in the pack though i havent been able to check it out as well. stupid goevernment monitors think it and TW site are violent and block it!
  25. it's why i like SF2E. the whole game is a big what if given that particular theater stayed cold from '45 until 92(air ops over Bosnia) although for Vietnam it would have been interesting to see F-106s go into action. the comander of ADC was actually pushing for it and those efforts led to the Six getting AAR capable and a gun, as well as the bubble canopy used in its later life.
