looks good doing the big parts as tga, are you thinking of doing weathering on them as well? set up about six to ten variations, then repeat and disperse throughout the whole series

About these USA Precision Guided Air-to-Surface Weapons for Ukraine?
daddyairplanes replied to Arrow's topic in The Pub
dont think theyre talking Mavericks, they have mostly been talking JDAM. only recently hearing about mounting them on fighters, a few weeks ago they were talking about mounting SDBs as warheads on the HiMARs rockets. Boeing has been working on this for some time and its supposedly able to go into service next year https://www.reuters.com/business/aerospace-defense/100-mile-strike-weapon-weighed-ukraine-arms-makers-wrestle-with-demand-sources-2022-11-28/ -

Operation Darius (Final) - Part 1 of 4
daddyairplanes replied to eburger68's topic in File Announcements
look around. knowledge base is a good place to spend some time. however, this topic is still on the top of the recent new threads when you first hit the site -
gotta be careful going down that path of many units in one package

i will confirm, alot of the weapons from the ODS30AE are tweeked to work specifically with certain aircraft and even certain pylons (well, weapon stations to be specific). for general advice i will say this is the time to learn to compare entries and how things work. i wont give specific advice on any of it because there's a hell of alot. the head honcho for 30AE will probably tell you not to f*** with it as its worked on by a team to be as good as possible. while that is true, modders are tinkerers. pull s*** apart and put it back together again. learn how to do so and make it work. the experts even know how to hide the extra parts i wont tell you not to pull ODS30AE apart, might as well tell a tide to stay out. but i will say that assitance on specifics might be sparse. use the knowledge base, go through the old forum threads. there is alot of info in there that will help you

Edge, like its predecessor, is the best browser to get another browser! but i agree with bazillius, and prefer to use firefox for most things. only using chrome on my school laptop because the school site works better with it finally, extra points to other Kevin for using the ancient computer of Theseus

how deeply have you compared to other naval fighters in house? i would particulary think to look at the A-6 and A-1s

I disagree on the B-2 lookalike. Esp. as it seemed much lighter in color. First thing that popped to mind. The windows and depth on the bottom ( versus how the original slopes to a bit of a point) are way different too, as well as the intakes seeming more flush than the B-2. Not that I was looking or anything

Well, not much to see, but what's there is interesting.

Somebody will. Likely somebody that does no modding of any stripe. Hell, my packs this summer had a guy posting about the Block 10 F-16s ( aka the TW model) needing new models. On several packages with NO Block 10s included. Big part is are you happy with it and is it too noticeable in game. If the answers are yes and no in order, it's all good.

I have a feeling it will be a covered ceremony anyways. Given they forgot to close off airspace for the B2 unveiling way back when, and drones would be harder to keep away. But we will see!

Help with national insignia
daddyairplanes replied to petrouvis's topic in Mods & Skinning Discussion
like Eric said, even the old heads at this goof now and then still. my personal preference: i dont usually use level 0(nation) or level1(unit) decals for years now. level2(serial numbers) will work for anything if you dont add a number to the end of the name. in exactly tailored example, i will make a USNstar.tga for national insignia. proper scale and rotations for location. shows same on all. then the CAG bird will be USNstar000.tga, a full color insignia rather than regular subdued. but all the others will still use that unnumbered USNstar.tga but thats just one method. draw on all the tutorials and posts from the past, and figure your method out. -

yeah, Nation=FrenchNavy needs to be changed to Nation=OADF you can also change the name of the skin should you choose. then any aircraft using this skin should show your new nation decals edit- using an existing skin or ini is a good way to learn how to do this (or even quick and lazy way to create new stuff when you know what your doing). but instead of just copying, copy then change the - folder name - name withing textureset ini - and create a new decal folder. then edit the file path within that skins decal.ini to match your new decal folder using "Replace" function in notepad. this will help avoid confusion in teh future. even if you name it something simple like TEST. -

you could put it in the global decals folder outside of any aircraft. but for now i would just leave it where it is until you have the basics down better
