  1. the decals are part of the skin. sort of the ini goes in the skin folder. the decal folder (holding the tgas) is seperate from the aircraft folder (holding the skins). but the decal.ini will be within the skin folder what does your textureset.ini look like for this skin?
  2. can you post your parts of the ini entries? little easier to diagnose issues in the flesh than over the virtual phone. in game screenshots will also help figure out your issue if i understand your last question, then i have to ask: are you selecting the same skin for all planes in the flight? also, in my experiences add on nations rarely add to game generated AI flights (flights other than your own). they show if you use an editor to add them into a mission, but the game likes to stick to the originals (at least in my installs) when populating the airspace. but you will get better advice with a pic of the issue and the ini that you worked on
  3. a national insignia will only show on a aircraft of that nation, if you used the decal level 0. ie, you have a USAF insignia, the skin will need to be USAF in the Nation= line of the skin textureset.ini. same for RoyalNavy, RAF etc. if you are trying to do a nation not in the stock game (like US Army) you will need to add that nation to the NationsList.ini personal preference here is to just make the insignia and assign it level two(serial numbers). occasionally using level zero(nations) decals acts wonky, esp for AI and you will have a jet in USAF camo with some other markings. but doing level 2 lets me place it, and if there is variation needed i can make the main one without a number and the variations with the appropriate numbers (ie decal, then decal007 and decal 019 for variations) i personally tend towards all level two for just that reason. but if your skin should represent multiple nations or units you would need to include a level 0 and 1 entry so they are selectable in the drop down menu in game. mine are usually locked to a specific unit of a specific nation so i get away with all level 2 but its not for everyone.

  5. my tastes are simpler yet explosive. a new AGM-28 Hound Dog. better mapping than the current would allow a camo version for the late 60s/70s a B57. this was about the most versitile of the tactical nukes, even being used as a depth charge on USN ASW helos. in service from the mid 60s through 92. and on a personal note, a mobile kitchen trailer. feeding Soldiers for a few decades now and used by yours truly from 96 to 17...

  9. i didnt figure you would be interested Menrva. You have said in the past that Balkans had sort of worn you out and I know that you still keep fine tuning ODS 30AE. It is impressive how you keep improving it so far out after its release when many modders and teams would have stopped and declared it finished when i make posts like that, it is to try to get other new interest in it. the game is up to the modders and those that still enjoy our work. everyone starts somewhere, maybe the Balkans gets someone new interested in modding. that interest goes further when we encourage new skinners, modelers, terrain builders and campaign writers rather than decrying the lack of interest. for the folks that dont have interest tweaking their work for a future update, i would hope they would be willing to help a next generation with interest learn. besides, like i mentioned theres quite abit of time to work on it. and even Allied Force wasnt as intensive as Iraq 91, let alone Deliberate Force or fictional strikes durng Deny Flight
  10. and then it was October. the necrothread rose from the depths.... with a low gutteral breathe it kept calling out... Moddddds.... and with that the bump. we have a damn good terrain for this finally, and many objects and skins since this was last visited. any (serious) thoughts on getting this back on track? not trying to rush it at all here. 30th anniversary of Banja Luka engagement (NATOs first active combat action) isnt for almost a year and a half. but It would be nice to revisit the major military actions that were ongoing in the 90s (besides occasional actions in Iraq) its a good excuse to break out the Euro Herks too going into Sarejevo

  14. something to look into. it crashes immediately on choosing Accept or edit, so couldnt say anything about the ranges involved cause i dont know what its picking. but pretty sure none of the parties had Tu-16s, and the MiG-21bis only shows Syrian camo in the basic ini will try to look into it in the next couple days. closing my desktop down this week prepping for a move, so no more modding or checking for a bit

  16. and Allen, tried your entry on a lark. no joy. but again, teh exact same files work (incuding ItalySE.ini) in a different install, allowing editor to work, and allowing missions to go forward. the problem child wont even let me run the mission editor. select intercept then click the pencil and ctd added stock MiG-21bis and F-14A from another install. no joy. accept crashes and "edit mission" (the pencil) crashes. its interesting all other mission types work in the wonky install Menrva, its not an attack on your terrain. you terrain works fine in the other install. its trying to find out what is different between the installs to cause this. like i said just a bit ago, its trying to understand whats going on under the hood. the knowledge probably wont do me much in the end. but somebody else a month or a couple years from now might get started on a project that this is relevant to.
  17. its two seperate projects. the scope on each suggests to me there wont be cooperation nor would it work too well anyhow not saying they dont get along or anything like that. just the two mods would likely be incompatable
  18. Ok, so answering my question, it's a lack of 21s that causes the crash. Not trying to reinvent the wheel. Just curious about some of the mechanics of its rolling. Consider it literally this
  19. whats interesting about that is the install that is crashing is clean on those. in fact clean except the aircraft i am skinning at the given moment. more than clean actually, only three stock aircraft in there the one i copied it to is heavily modded including teh nations. exact same folder pasted in. no crashing. but the only enemy aircraft i have in are a Badger model and a MiG-17. will set up an intercept in editor later making sure there is an target. as per my observation its straight CTD after hitting accept, hadnt forced the enemy issue yet new notice: one other thing noticed is that the test install exe is Israel. the install that works is an Europe exe. full 5+2 installs all of them, just talking what pops up when you start the game
  20. so this is happening..... using the new Italy 93-06 terrain in my R&D install. try to load F-16 for intercept. CTDs when i click accept. i try it with the F-15C. same result same install, i try intercept in Germany. it works both aircraft. try same terrain (literally, copy and paste folder) to a different install. both aircraft work in Italy. soooooo, what exactly would be causing intercepts to crash the game? note: this is not a big emergency thing. just a bit of curiousity.

  22. well, there's this 0 B-52D Assignments, 1956-1985.xlsx picked it up a couple years back from a FB BUFF group thats more veterans than fans. got G and H as well from 58 through 94, but no F. are you looking at doing them more in the 50s or the 70s? PACER PLANK D models have been on my to do list for at least a year (if only shiny other projects would quit distracting). a bonus is there wouldnt need to be a mix of camos like on the G models) back to the excel, the Crested Dove entries would really be interesting to put in game. They were grounded F then D models that got moved around the SAC bases to screw with Russian satelites. i dont mean fly base to base, i mean just towed around at night to different places on the same base. B-52D ground object anyone?
  23. ok, that one was more Ed and me, with GKABs as armorer. it was after the cargo birds i believe got a chunk of chores to do, then will shoot it to ya when i get on the desktop (this is from the school comp). think i have an excel too that will have where all the D's were based during their careers. it a bit to go through, but once you get it figured out it is damn handy (had another one for the G and H models back when i did those) and why do you think i always say other Kevin?

  25. You talking the Hound Dog ones? With the beam to use MERs, there's one in my ODS B-52 set. Not sure about SAC Twilight, but garunteed model in ODS. The one who made the model is in the credits ( can't remember and answering on phone). I set it up as a gunpod so it could be loaded as a weapon. But it was originally fake pilot Of course my question now is whatchya Doolin?
