IOC might have been around 2001 for the FA-18E and F and if so missed Allied Force by a few years. NATO may have been flying recce missions around that area for some years after though - but not sure on details.
-
To unzip files like 7z you need WinRAR or another program that will do it you select A-G missiles with a different button - check out your control keys in the settings
-
Make sure you are not putting the files into where you have installed the actual game - if that makes sense. With SF2 you dont touch or go near the game files like you did with the first series - all mods must go into the special mods folders which will be in a different location (saved games) to the actual game. If you see a folder called "Core" then you are totally in the wrong place

Many congrats mate!! that's excellent - well done!

Adding TWS and ACM to a Cockpit/Avionics
MigBuster replied to TheStig's topic in Mods/Skinning Discussion
Best bet would be to look at the the avionics.ini in a jet that has these features - eg the CF-188 with the avionics upgrade - then work it out from there you would need a section like this [RadarData] AvailableModes=SEARCH,TWS,STT,ACM,GM,TV RangeUnit=NM RangeSetting[1]=5 RangeSetting[2]=10 RangeSetting[3]=20 RangeSetting[4]=40 RangeSetting[5]=80 RadarPosition= MaxElevationAngle=60 MinElevationAngle=-60 MaxAzimuthAngle=60 MinAltitude=100.0 BoresightElevation=-2.0 etc etc You may need to set the f-16.ini to use AvionicsDLL=Avionics70.dll -
Yes - i think there is an option in an ini file to set them to save as bmps again though. No point cos jpgs are a lot smaller in size oh its in options.ini [screenShots] Directory=C:\Documents and Settings\HP_Owner\My Documents\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 Europe\ScreenShots Format=JPG
-
There is a difference - Thirdwire don't support COI and have released NO updates for it!!
-
make sure you are using the right gun editor - the SF2 series need a different version
-
You have basically associated all LOD files with word - so that word will try to open one when when you click on it - and then fail. look on the net on how to change it for your windows version
-
You mean like a free flight? - possibly you can create a custom single mission with no other jets in the air but im not sure. Choose a recon mission and set the air activity to light - theres a very good chance you wont see another jet the entire time you are up anyway if you stick to friendly airspace.

Which dll is playing up here?

Wow - you may want to ask Thirdwire about that - I would have thought the game only lets you chose a resolution that your system can handle - and that would be determined by Windows - if it has the correct drivers.

Create a folder on your desktop When prompted "save" the download into that folder open the folder If the file is a compressed zip you will be able to open and extract the contents A lot of downloads on here need WinRAR to open them so you can get the files out. Unlike most things you have come across before - you basically need to put the files in exactly the right folders for them to work. The readme should give instructions - however a lot has changed to the game over the years so if you are not sure look in the knowledgebase on here/ or search old threads for the answer. When you installed WOE - the first thing you probably want to do is go to thirdwires home page and download the latest patch to bring the version to Oct 2008 if you havnt done so. This is a lot easier - you save the file to your desktop and just double click on the installer. always Add any patches before adding any mods Most of the mods on here are done by anybody - and most people hate doing documentation - hence why there is little of it. Most of the mods can be used in most of the games - although sometimes you will need to manually change ini files etc to get them working Be aware that WOE is from the first generation of games - we are now on the second generation - and Strike Fighters 2:Europe is the new version of WOE for Vista/Win 7 good luck

Well on that issue TK says this "The old games do not run under Windows Vista unless the user jump through some hoops (run as admin, don't install to default folder, etc). This may be okay for someone computer savvy like you, its not acceptable for most users. And we don't want to be getting all the techincal support phone calls and emails and posts on the forum about "problems" - as more time I spend answering these posts about "how do I get this to run on Vista", less time I have working on the game TK" on a positive note - separating the mod folder from the core files is fantastic - and means less newbies having to risk moving core files .Not only that but a merged install will cut a lot of time and make it easier when patches are released in the future - for me any way.

Am just converting a ton of jets over into it at the mo - flew back to back missions ok yesterday though. am on XP SP3 with merged SF2/2v/2e - is this single missions or campaigns? do you have any mods?

pulled this from 3rd wire - might be useful The ALR-69 RWR display can identify radar type and display different symbols. The symbols you're likely to encounter in the game are: 2 = SA-2 6 = SA-6 8 = SA-8 Z = ZSU-23-4 AAA 21 = MIG-21 23 = MIG-23 15 = F-15 F4 = F-4 F0 = F-104/F-105 M3 = Mirage III U = Unknown S = Search radar V = M163 Vulcan AAA (hopefully these are pretty self-explanatory) Radars guiding missiles have flashing circle around them. Priority threat (the tracking radar with highest signal) will have a diamond displayed around it. Keep in mind that this can only identify radar type, and not the exact aircraft type. For example, MIG-23MS, which is an export model with MIG-21 radar, will show up as "21", not "23". Most add-on planes will not be identified (show up as "U") unless additional data is added - for add-on planes with radars, you need to add RadarFamilyName= (and type of radar, please see stock data) in DetectSystem section to have it show up on RWR (or else, it'll show as Unknown). And if you want to add the ALR-69 to add-on plane, you need to set RWR Type to TEWS and add ThreatLibraryList= which is just a list of known identifiable threats (again, please see stock plane data). (and if you look through the FlightData.CAT, there are additional icons not used, such as 27,29,31 etc, for anyone wanting to build more modern threat library . --- Also, even aircraft with older RWR "vector" display has slightly new feature. On aircraft with up front RHAW control panel, it'll light up different SAM button (LO/MID/HI band light) depending on radar frequency, so you can roughly determine the type of SAM radar tracking you. Eary and late SA-2 (SA-2 B and SA-2 F) will indicate LO freqnecy band light Mid-year SA-2 (SA-2 C and SA-2 E) will indicate MID freqnecy band light SA-6 will light MID freqnecy band light while its searching/tracking, but moves to HI frequency band when guiding missile. But this missile guidance may not be detectable on some RWR (its using CW type radar for guidance). SA-8 will light HI freqnecy band light TK

Hes put in some new fansong radar versions - plus an E version of the SA-2 and an SA-8 it looks like cost £12:80 btw

Its a MiG-23 bonanza :) Anyone with an old F-104 pit from the first series - totally recommend this repaint http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=1733

So the answers beer and sex then - thought so!

if you dont have one - download a program that can resize images like GIMP scale the image to 1024 x 1048 or 512 x 512 or 256 x 256 etc etc
