IDF Bonanza V (1948)
By LloydNB
Beechcraft Bonanza V35
IDF 1948
The IDF/AF operated 3 Bonanzas from 1948 through to 1952. Two were purchased in South Africa from donation from the local Jewish community and flown overland to Israel. The other was bought in the Netherlands. Initially bombs were dropped by hand out the cargo door but later racks were added. There were even experiments with strafing - a crewman would lie on the floor of the cabin with a machinegun out the cargo door while the pilot circled the target.
There are no hardpoints to the model so no bombracks but its fine for recon.
#################
The underlying panel lines come from the paint kit for the Beech Bonanza V35B (Flightsim) by Alexandre Cadel.
Thanks go to allenjb42 for his help doing the skin for this one.
Wing Palette shows a green and tan Bonanza, while the surviving photos show a single mottled colour (tan or green) over the aluminium base from earlier in 1948. I've chosen the latter.

Fix for F-4E serial numbers
By mppd
This is a fix for F-4E serial numbers used by TAC when deployed to Southeast Asia in 1972-73. The first two digits are the Fiscal year of manufacture, unlike PACAF's system of dropping the first digit of the serial number.
Just drop these into the objects-decals folder and over-write the old files.
In addition, new TGA files are supplied for TAC F-4Ds of the 49th TFW from Holloman which deployed to Takhli RTAFB. These aircraft had serial numbers in all white and were of a split-stencil style. The new F-4D decals.ini has these at the bottom of the list with "HO" after the serial number. All 20 listed aircraft actually flew with theone of the four squadrons of the 49th at Takhli with "HB", "HC", "HD" and "HE" tailcodes, then all recoding at Takhli to "HO" codes in mid-1972.
Sorry for the mistake,
Mike D.

High Resolution PR ANW Terrain Tiles
By Brain32
*****High Resolution PR ANW Terrain Tiles*****
by Brain32
This is a set of high resolution (1024x1024) tiles for America North West terrain. Installation is simple, just unrar all the *.BMP's into your ANW terrain.
Tiles were as usual made with help of satelite imagery, and are actually taken more from mid West USA than North West, but I think they still fit into general terrain idea.
Dont get too concerned with high resolution or the size of the tiles, ANW terrain has only 6 tile types so this mod will not have any performance impact whatsoever, I tested it personally under WOI on my aged system and it went super smooth.

*******
A6M
*******
The Mitsubishi A6M Zero-Sen legendary status mirrored the fortunes of the rising sun, in which four years, the sun would finally set. For the Japanese and its former enemies, the A6M was the symbol of Japanese air power. The A6M fighter marked the beginning of a new epoch in naval aviation and was the first shipboard fighter capable of surpassing land-based aircraft.1 With its tight turning radius, it was an extremely deadly weapon in a dogfight, and was famous for its ability to outmaneuver, Brewster F2A Buffaloes, Curtiss P-40s and Grumman F4F Wildcats. As early as 1937, Claire Chennault, the author of 'The Role of Defensive Pursuit,' warned the USAAF about the dangers of Japanese air power. Apparently his warnings were ignored, as the superiority of the A6M was a complete surprise to the American forces.2 As leader of the Flying Tigers, Chennault constantly stressed to his pilots, 'Never try to turn with a Zero. Always get above the enemy and try to hit him with the first pass.'3 Because of the A6Ms exceptional range and performance, it was to bear the brunt of the action, of almost every military engagement in the Pacific, until the end of the war. 4
*******
Ki-43
*******
The Hayabusa was a sleek little dogfighter, relatively slow and lightly armed (just two fuselage-mounted machine guns at a time when other fighters were carrying multiple machine guns or even cannon in their wings). At first, these weaknesses seemed not to matter, but as time went on, the Hayabusa was totally outclassed by its opponents in every respect except tight-turning dogfighting. And even that advantage counted little against enemy aircraft that refused to meet the Hayabusa on its own terms. Unfortunately for Japan, the Hayabusa had to continue on as a front-line fighter to the end, because its successor-the Ki-84 Hayate (which see)-was never available in sufficient quantities, and was not as reliable as the older fighter.
Interestingly, design work on the Ki-43 began even before its predecessor, the Ki-27 Nate, entered service with the JAAF. In December 1937, the Army told the Nakajima company to design a new fighter to supercede the Ki-27. The new plane would be faster in level flight (300+ mph), swifter-climbing (5 minutes to 16,405 ft.), longer-ranged (a radius of action of 500 statute miles), with the same armament and maneuverability as the earlier fighter. The Nakajima team, led by Hideo Itokawa, worked steadily for a year, and the new plane was first flown early in January 1939.
*******
G4M2
*******
Designed to an incredibly demanding 1938 Navy specification, the G4M family (given the code-name "Betty" by the Allies) was the Imperial Japanese Navy's premier heavy bomber in World War II; yet the insistence on the great range of 2,000 nautical miles (3,706 km) with full bomb load made the saving of weight take priority over defence and the aircraft was highly vulnerable and not very popular. The wing was of the same Mitsubishi 118 section as the Zero-Sen and boldly designed as an integral fuel tank to accommodate no less than 5,000 litres (1,100 gal). The company kept recommending four engines and being overruled by the Navy, which, during the early flight-test stage, wasted more than a year, and 30 aircraft, in trying to make the design into the G6M bomber escort with a crew of ten and 19 guns.
Eventually the G4M1 was readied for service as a bomber and flew its first missions in South East China in May 1941. More than 250 operated in the Philippines and Malayan campaigns, but after the Solomons battle in August 1942 it began to be apparent that, once intercepted and hit, the unprotected bomber went up like a torch (hence the Allied nickname "one-shot lighter"). Total production reached the exceptional quantity of 2,479, most of them in the many sub-types of G4M2 with increased fuel capacity and power. Finally the trend of development was reversed with the G4M3 series with full protection and only 968 gal fuel.

Syrian Texan (1948)
By LloydNB
Texan
Syrian Air Force 1948
This is a set of decals and a repaint of the SNJ_6 by Rob "Bunyap" McCray. The original Texan skin by Pappychksix.
This skin comes from the Harvard/Texan by Alphasim for Flight Simulator X (base textures by Frank Safranek) and a re-paint by Henry William. My contribution has been to adapt it for SFP1 and so is minimal. I've used some poetic licence about the colour scheme.
France provided Syria with Canadian built Harvard/Texans shortly after WWII. They were used in 1948 quite successfully in the ground attack role.

497th TFS Night Owl Textures
By mppd
Night Owl 497th TFS F-4D textures Version 2
This is a small add-on for the stock Wings over Vietnam F-4D (that I forgot I did). Although done before in several nice packages packages (one by Sundowner available here and one available through a Yankee Air Pirate mission set) these textures are all black-belly Night Owl birds from the 497th TFS, 8th TFW at Ubon RTAFB, Thailand which match my other F-4 texture packages, and of course all are actual serials from photos. The previous version had some missing files - my apologies to all.
The LORAN airplanes require the mod created for Yankee Air Pirate, with a slight ini tweak as sent to me by Sundowner, so I cannot include it here.
As usual, drop the folder into your F-4D folder and fly.
Enjoy,
Mike Druzolowski

Su-27 Flanker Avionics v15
By Crusader
Flanker Avionics v1.5
This is a avionics update for Marcfighters Su-27 and Su-27SK (J-11)
Fully working with Wings Over Israel ONLY ! - until the other games of the series are patched to the same code level !
Requires the aformentioned planes already installed, which are available at http://marcfighters.combatace.com/
Installation of the update :
1. You might want to make a BACKUP of your whole Su-27 Flanker folders first, or of ini's which you modded yourself !
2. Copy/Move the contents ( ini's and cockpit folder) of the Su-27 avionics v15 and/or Su-27SK avionics v15 folders into the respective plane folders
( Su-27 and/or Su-27SK )
Let overwrite files if prompted to do so.
Thats all.
For a quick guide to what is new in Air to Air mode, refer to the included "Flanker Avionics v15 NAV and A2A info.pdf" file
Additional IR guided (R-73 and R-27T/TE A2A missile info:
The HUD has no IR seeker symbol, make sure that your IR missiles have "Seeker slave" checked ( weapondata ini), so that the radar can point the
missile seeker to the desired target.
Without radar , the IR seeker will lock on to the first target which comes into the seekers Field Of View.
The Air to Ground mode displays are not mentioned in the PDF , but its basically a CCIP pipper, left side has a fixed scale and marker,
with a radar altitude in KM on the top.
The standard altitude readout ( to the right of the heading scale) shows altitude Above Ground Level, it is a radar altimeter in A2Gmode.
NOTE:
Several readouts and symbols are just for looks and dont have a usefull function!
Usage in other mods:
This mod or parts of it can be used in other Third Wire games related mods without contacting me first, just give credit!
For questions/comments ect, contact "Crusader" at CombatAce.com forums.

IDF B-17G (1948)
By LloydNB
B-17F (Serial no, 1602)
69 Squadron, IDF/AF 1948
This skin represents the aircraft from Ray Ball's 'The Israeli Air Force, Part One: 1948-1967. Artist: M.David Howley
This is a decal change and a repaint of the upper surfaces of the original B-17F skin by Gramps. All credit for the rest of the skin goes to him. I have used the panel-lines from the B17G_909_template for FS2002. While the actual aircraft was a B-17G, in 1948 it was without the chin-turret.
