    10. SF2 VF-114 F-4B (65) Phantom Skin/Decal Pack by Mytai

      SF2 VF-114 F-4B (65) Phantom Skin/Decal Pack by Mytai         9/4/2019
      = For SF2 (Any & All, Full-5 Merged Prefered) and/or SF2:V =
*Can be used in any install that has access to the F-4B_65 which is stock in all merged installs, excepting SF2:I (well, actually it's probably there as well!).
This a new build of Mytai01's 1stGen skin for VF-114 Aardvarks durning 1965/66 Southeast Asia cruise about USS Kittyhawk as part of CVW-11 (tail code NH). This is within the time frame of the camo experiments the USN was conduction, as many of the aircraft aboard were using this 2-tone green camo. Records seem to indicate VF-114 did not. The aircraft remains in the standard Gull Gray/White scheme. With this skin set, you should have all the strike/fighter/attack aircraft of CVW-11 for this cruise.
The skin is in jpg format, 2048x, from Sundowner's templates. Mytai's original decal have been 'refershed' to remove any oddites or edge 'ghosting'. Decal randomization is TRUE.  Also included, within the skin folder, are all of Mytai's original research material that came with the 1stGen Package. This includes photos and other text files.
Also included are slightly modified data and loadout ini that correct a few little faults. Wingfold and canopy are now manually activated, using the Standard Animations Keystrokes (tm); shift/9 for wings, shift/0 (zero) for canopy. Lighting has been tweeked so the wing lights follow the wing when folding/unfolding. A landing light and the 3 approach lights have also been added (see "Notes" for more details).
When in-game, on the Loadout Screen, on the skin selection dropdown you'll see:
      VF-114 Aardvarks 65 (Mytai)
As the Aardvarks are a unit listed in the stock squadron list ini, decals are set to make the displayed name active.
As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them ....

The Caproni Ca.310 Libeccio (Italian: southwest wind)was an Italian monoplane, twin-engine reconnaissance aircraft used in World War II. Derived from the similar Ca.309, it had its combat debut during the Spanish Civil War and took part in the earlier phases of World War II in Libya. Some were used in attack groups as a temporary replacement for the unsatisfactory Breda Ba.65. The last Ca.310 was retired by the Italian Air Force in 1948.

    23. Blackburn Buccaneer S.22 - RAN

This is the Blackburn Buccaneer for the Royal Australian Navy. This package consists of complete aircraft.
      Historical Background
The military buildup in China and Indonesia in the early 1960s led the RAN to renew the airwing of its 2 Audacious class aircraft carriers, HMAS Sydney and HMAS Melbourne. At the beginning of the decade, these British aircraft carriers fielded an airwing of F3D Skyknight all weather fighters, FJ-3 Fury day fighters, and Westland Wyvern attack aircraft. All were considered incapable of coping with the fighters and air defences projected to be introduced by Indonesia and China in the ensuing years.
To respond to this situation, the RAN formulated requirements for an all-weather supersonic fighter, and a carrier-capable strike aircraft which could deploy a "special munition" after penetrating enemy defences. For this latter requirement, only two aircraft were viable, the Grumman A2F, and the Blackburn NA39. The Navy had concerns about the A2F's complex DIANE system, but overall favoured the US offering. The government, on the other hand, saw the Buccaneer requiring less of Australia's dollar reserves, and an order for a British aircraft could provide the British government a greater incentive to engage in nuclear cooperation with Australia. Since the naval fighter requirement was likely to be fulfilled by the McDonnell F-4 Phantom, using a British strike aircraft would keep the two big allies in balance. Therefore, the Government ordered 38 Buccaneer S.22s. The S.22 was basically the same as a British Buccaneer S.2.
The RAN's first Buccaneers were hoisted into HMAS Melbourne for delivery as deck cargo in 1965. Deliveries were completed in 1966. By the end of 1967, HMAS Melbourne was ready to sail with 854 Squadron fully equipped with Buccaneers. The RAN's Buccaneers did not participate in the Vietnam War, though some of their pilots and observers did fly 2 Squadron's Buccaneers on exchange to the RAAF. In 1970, the government authorised a "mid-life update" for the Buccaneer. This update was carried out by the Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation, and included upgrades to the Buccaneer's weapons, and defensive systems. In particular, it gained the ability to use guided weapons, and the new Pave Spike pod. Deliveries of upgraded Buccaneers, designated Buccaneer S.22D began in 1972. The Liberal/Country Coalition government intended to use them in Vietnam, as a "political replacement" for the Task Force in Phuoc Tuy province, which was withdrawing. The Labor Government elected at the end of 1972 cancelled this deployment.
The Buccaneers spent the rest of the 1970s and 1980s on deployments, mainly in the Pacific and Indian Oceans. In 1990, the Government decided to retire the carriers, and replace them with two Invincible class carriers. HMAS Melbourne was already in inactive reserve. Some of 854 Squadron's Buccaneers were turned over to the RAAF as attrition replacements and parts hulks. It was the beginning of the end of the Buccaneer - at least it was until the invasion of Kuwait. HMAS Sydney, with 857 Squadron's Buccaneers, was dispatched to the Gulf. Some of 854 Squadron's Buccaneers, formerly attached to HMAS Melbourne, were sent to Bahrain to support the Buccaneers of 2 Squadron, RAAF. The HMAS Sydney's Buccaneers operated beside the US Navy's A-6 Intruders against targets in Iraq and Kuwait.
After a successful tour of duty in the Gulf, the RAN's Buccaneers returned home. HMAS Melbourne was fully decommissioned in 1992, and HMAS Sydney in 1993. The RAN continued to fly a small number of Buccaneers out of HMAS Albatross in Nowra, New South Wales for fleet support. The RAN's final operational Buccaneer flight took place in 1995. After that, 2 Buccaneers were retained in airworthy for the RAN Historical Flight, a number were turned over the RAAF, and the remainder were offered for private sale, or to Museums - including one at the Fleet Air Arm Museum in Nowra.
      Package
2 full aircraft, plus bomb racks. The S.22D uses the S.2B 1989 3D model for its Pave Spike station. The S.22D is edited to allow the use of US weapons.

    24. Blackburn Buccaneer S.22 - RAAF

This is the Blackburn Buccaneer for the Royal Australian Air Force. This package consists of complete aircraft.
      Historical Background
When considering its Canberra replacement, the Australian Government looked at a variety of options, including the Mirage IV, the A-5 Vigilante, and the TFX (F-111). Britain's Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral of the Fleet Lord Louis Mountbatten pushed the Blackburn Buccaneer. The Buccaneer did not come close to meeting RAAF requirements, but what if it was adopted?
Given the lower price of the Buccaneer, we would have had a more than 24 - perhaps twice that. Enough for 3 squadrons easily. Deliveries of RAAF Buccaneers began in 1965 to 82 Wing at RAAF Amberley, Queensland. The RAAF Buccaneers were given the mark number Strike Mark 22. They were generally similar to the Royal Navy's Buccaneer S.2. An ILS was fitted, and some of the carrier-deck equipment was deleted, but the hydraulic folding wings were retained. In addition to the British twin bomb rack, the BRU-42 Triple Ejector Rack was procured, and US bombs such as the Mark 82 and M117 were tested.
3 RAAF squadrons were equipped with Buccaneers. 1 Squadron was the primary strike squadron, 2 Squadron also performed the strike role, and was intended for forward defence if necessary, and 6 Squadron was tasked with conversion training and reconnaissance. 6 Squadron also backed up 1 Squadron.
2 Squadron was the first RAAF Buccaneer unit to see combat. It was deployed in 1967 to Phan Rang Air Base in South Vietnam to support the B-57 Canberras of the USAF's 35th Tactical Fighter Wing. Between 1967 and 1972, 2 Squadrons Buccaneers performed thousands of missions in South Vietnam. With the addition of electronic countermeasures pods, RAAF Buccaneers were authorised to operate over North Vietnam. 2 Squadron Buccaneers also provided direct support to the Australian Task Force in Phuoc Tuy Province. 2 Squadron lost 1 Buccaneer in an accident, and sustained no losses due to enemy action, though a number of aircraft were damaged by ground fire.
Upon their return to Australia, the Buccaneers moved towards a precision strike role with laser guided bombs, and maritime strike with the AGM-84 Harpoon. A number of ex-Royal Navy extra aircraft were purchased to replace attrition. Progressive upgrades kept the force operating efficiently.
In 1990, Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein ordered the invasion of Kuwait. 2 Squadron's Buccaneers formed part of the RAAF's contribution to Operation Damask. RAAF Buccaneers attacked Iraqi ground forces, airfields, and communication and transport infrastructure. Unlike RAF Buccaneers, the RAAF Buccaneers dropped bombs from their first day. The RAAF's Buccaneers used laser guided bombs, and introduced the AGM-84E SLAM into RAAF service. The Buccaneers also took part in the Battle of Bubiyan using Harpoon missiles against the Iraqi Navy. 3 RAAF Buccaneers were lost to ground fire, with 2 aircrew killed.
2 Squadron's return to Australia heralded the twilight of the Buccaneer's Australian service. In 1992, the Australian Government dropped plans to upgrade the Buccaneers and began to look for a replacement. The Buccaneer would continue in the strike role until 1996, and a small number would be used for reconnaissance until 1998.
The options to replace the Buccaneer were the Panavia Tornado, and the F-15E Strike Eagle - but those are skins for another time, or another modder.
      Package
4 full aircraft, plus bomb racks, and bonus materials. The aircraft have been edited to use US weapons, and to allow the BRU-42 Triple Ejector Rack. 25. Seafire Mk. XVII ("stand-in")

This is a "stand-in" Seafire Mk. XVII modded from Thirdwire's Spitfire Mk. 18.
As with the Mk. 47 released earlier, the skins are in .jpg format and 512 x 512 resolution. It includes a new SPITFIRE24_PROP_SLOW.TGA
showing 5-blade propeller instead of the stock 4-blade prop. Also included is Stary's late mark
      Spitfire cockpit.
You will need the DLC #29 to get the late marks Spitfires before you install this mod.
Thanks to Thirdwire for the original Spitfire 3-D model.
      Have fun!
