    1. SF2 WW2 CBI B-24J Liberator Pak

      SF2 WW2 CBI B-24J Liberator Pak by Veltro2K 6/10/2014

      (Full 4/5 Merged Reccomended)

This pack contains a Theatre Specfic version of Veltro2k's B-24J Liberator as seen in
in the China, Burma, India Theatre. Be advised, that while there wasn't too much
'crossover' between the 10 AF in India and the 14th AF in China (and the RAF for that
matter), for gaming purposes it won't matter much.
You are advised, however, to have a seperate CBI mods folder (even though the new
India/Burma/Indochina map is far from completed).

      The unit(s) represented herein are:

      10th AF (India):
      493rd BS, 7th BG (43/45, in OD/Grey)

      14th AF (China):
      374th BS, 308th BG (44/45, in NM)

      RAF (India/Burma):
No. 99 Squadron "Madras Presidency" (Liberator GR.VI, late 44/45, in OD/Grey)

Each of the skins will display their theatre association; B/I or C.
The skins are in jpg format. All markings are decals (excepting the wing national
markings and some squadron rudder markings). The serials, when carried, are 'generic'
in nature, as they represent no particular unit, but ARE for the model variant
depicted. Decal randomization is set to TRUE. 10th & 14th AF squadron numbering
conventions (plane-in-group numbers) are used on these aircraft. There are NO nose
arts. Other texture artists are encouraged to do the research, and create proper
      artwork decals.
Weapons, pilot figures and guns are NOT included; you should have them already.
However, the VB-1 "Azon" bomb is, as the 7th BG had specialy equipped aircraft for
their usage. A "Strike_Azon" loadout has been setup, and is availalbe through the 3W
Mission Editor. Or they can be hand-loaded. Be advised, the standard carry was 4
Azons, and handloading WILL overload the aircraft with 7. RAF units did NOT use Azons.
The aircraft is also equipped with a ground mapping/surface search radar.
Damage textures are in DDS format.

      When in game you'll see

      B-24J Liberator (v2k)

This will differentiate this Lib from any others you may have (ie: Pasko's).

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included.
PLEASE read them!!! PLEASE read the "Notes" section for other important notations, in
      particular for in-game usage.

    2. SF2 WW2 MTO P-39 Airacobra Pak

      SF2 WW2 MTO P-39 Airacobra Pak by Veltro2k 6/5/2014

-- Something for the MTO players --

      = For SF2, Full-4/5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =

*There is a distinct possibility that this mod will =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs, due various and sundry reasons*
This is an MTO (Theatre Specific) version of Veltro2k's Bell P-39 Airacobra. This aircraft is designed to either replace or compliment the SF2 versions I did for Wolf257's Airacobra. It's the End Users choice if you wish to delete the old versions, or keep them.

      Skins/Units depicted are:

      93rd FS, 81st FG, late 1942/43 ("yellow outlined" star-and-ball)
      346th FS, 350th FG, late 43 (star-and-bar)
GC 1/4 "Navare", 1943 & later, Free French Air Force

All the above are units are ONLY MTO based. Do NOT use the mod in any other theatre. The skins also use the "StartDate" switch, so as to turn on at the (almost) appropriate time. I've skipped the US "red outlined star-and-bar", as it was only used for approx 3 months.
All skins are in jpg format. Decal Randomization is TRUE.
Damage textures are in DDS format.
The engine sound is included. All the other items (bombs, drop tank, guns, etc) you should have already.
All lighting is 100% historically correct.

      When in game, you'll see:

      P-39D Airacobra (v2k)

Displayed on the Aicraft Selection Dropdown menu. This will diferentiate it from Wolf's or any other versions.

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too.

    3. SF2 WW2 ETO RAF Airacobra Mk.1 Pak

      SF2 WW2 ETO RAF Airacobra Mk.1 Pak by Veltro2k 6/13/2014

*There is a distinct possibility that this mod will =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs, due various and sundry reasons*

This is an ETO (Theatre Specific) version of Veltro2k's Bell P-39D Airacobra. This represents those used by the RAF in Europe as the "Airacobra Mk.1", for a VERY short time! Basically, this is what would become the P-400 in USAAF service. Operational dates have been rounded to "whole months".

      The unit depicted is:

No. 601 "County of London" Squadron

The aircraft is finished in standard "Temperate Day Scheme", circa late 1941 (painted in the USA at the Bell factory). The skin is in jpg format. Decal Randomization is TRUE. Damage textures are in DDS format.
The engine Sounds is included. All the other items (bombs, drop tank, guns, etc) you should have already.
All lighting is 100% historically correct.

      When in game, you'll see:

      Airacobra Mk.1 (v2k)

Displayed on the Aicraft Selection Dropdown menu.

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too.

    4. SF2 WW2 PB4Y-1 (B-24J) USN Liberator, PTO Pak

      SF2 WW2 PB4Y-1 (B-24J) USN Liberator, PTO Pak by Veltro2K 6/4/2014
      (Full 5 Merged Reccomended)

This pack contains a NEW aircrft by Veltro2k; the US Navy's PB4Y-1 (B-24J) Liberator as seen in the Pacific. This aircraft uses some SF2NA 'mission statements'.

It is designed for use ONLY in the PTO (Central Pac, Solomons, Phillipines, Home Island, etc). Research has not turned up any data about thes models being used in SoWesPac (particularly New Guinea, although some DID operate over Borneo). Of course, these also replaced the eariler "D" version in the Atlantic.

      The unit represented herein are:

VPB-102, based in the Solomons in 1943

The aircraft is finished in standard USN 3-tone camo, and while 'assigned' to VPB-102, is representative of pretty much all USN VPB Liberator units as seen from the Aleutians to Australia, and (almost) all points in between. The same goes for Atlantic squadrons, fron the Arctic Ocean to the South Atlantic (although with a different paint job).
The skins are in jpg format. All markings are decals (excepting the wing national markings). The BuNums are 'generic' in nature, as they represent no particular aircraft within a specific unit, but ARE for the model variant depicted. Decal randomization is set to TRUE. There are NO nose arts.
Weapons, pilot figures and guns are NOT included; you should have them already.
Damage textures are in DDS format.

      When in game you'll see

      PB4Y-1 (J) Liberator (v2k)

The (J) expresses that this version is based of the B-24J model, NOT the D, L, or M. All USN/USMC/USCG versions were called PB4Y-1, regardless of what sub-variant. It will also further diferentiate it from any built from Pasko's B-24J.

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!! PLEASE read the "Notes" section for other important notations, in particular for in-game usage.

*There is a distinct possibility that this mod will =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs, due various and sundry reasons*

This is a mod of Veltro2k's Bell P-39D Airacobra, in to the export version, called P-400 in USAAF service. This aircraft is designed to either replace or compliment the SF2 versions I did for Wolf257's Airacobra. It's the End Users choice if you with to delete the old versions, or keep them.

Both skins are in the "RAF style" camo pattern. Skins included are:

39th FS, 35th FS, early 1942 (New Guinea)
      67th FS, 58th FG Mid/Late 1942 (Guadalcanal)

The above are units that were used in the SouthWestPacific region, specifically Australia & New Guinea (39th), and The Solomons (Guadalcanal, 67th). The skins also use the "StartDate" switch, so as to turn on at the (almost) appropriate time.
Serial numbers (RAF issued) are 100% historicaly correct for this aircraft, but should be considered 'generic' in nature, as they represent no particular aircraft within these specific units.
All skins are in jpg format. Decal Randomization is TRUE.
An SF2 version of the original 'box art' hangar screen are included. Damage textures are in DDS format.
Sounds and a pilot figure are included. All the other items (bombs, drop tank, guns, etc) you should have already.
All lighting is 100% historically correct.

      When in game, you'll see:

      P-400 Airacobra (v2k)

Displayed on the Aicraft Selection Dropdown menu. This will diferentiate it from the Wolf257 version.

    6. B-24J Liberator (Pasko), Indian Air Force, Ver.2

Consolidated B-24J, Indian Air Force ver.2

For SF2, Full-5 Merged (with Expansion Pak 1 Reccomended, for bombs)

This is Version 2.0 of Pasko's B-24J "Liberator", to recreate those as rebuilt for use by the Indian Air Force.
Designed for use with in India/Pakistan stand-alone install.

This version is designed to REPLACE the version originally released in 2011 for the Indo-Pak mod.

A brand new skin, in jpg format, from my (finally!) completed Home Grown template ™.
The decals are 100% historically accurate for the serial numbers. Decal randomization is set to TRUE.
Flight model, while somewhat tweeked by me is "OK", for a heavy bomber. However it NEEDS to be completly gone through by an FM Guru, as there are many 'issues'. It is NOT advised that is be used by the player, but to let the AI control it.

Some data ini tweeks remove some of the guns, and the lower ball turret, and convert it to a surface-search radar dome (ASV), via the FakePilot method. A new avionics ini is included. Be advised, there is NO radar display in the cockpit .. in Real Life ™ this would have been (probably) in the radio compartment, aft of the bomb bays. All lighting positions have been corrected, and where necessary, new ones added to their proper places.
The weapons loadout makes use of the stock, Expansion Pak 1 M57 & M64 WW2 era bombs.

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them .... Of course, the expected "Notes" section with comments, suggestions, and whatnots. Be in one's own best interest to read them.

    7. SF2 WW2 B-24D Liberator (Pasko), ETO-MTO Pak

      SF2 WW2 B-24D Liberator, ETO-MTO Pak

      = For SF2 (Full4/5 Merged RECCOMENDED! )

** Due to the extensive modifications to the cockpit and data ini, this mod will absolutely -NOT- work in 06 level 1stGen game installs. 08 Level 1stGens may have some issues, but this has not/cannot be tested by me. Also, having a merged install is reccomended, as the destroyed model references the stock 3W An-12**

This pak contains Pasko's B-24D Liberator Heavy Bomber, with modifications to 'bring it a
little closer" to SF2 spec. However, MUCH more work is needed by FM Gurus.

      The units represented herein are:

329th BS, 93rd BG, ETO, in OD/Grey as seen in England in the 42-43 time frame

514th BS, 376th BG, MTO, in Desert Pink/Grey.

Both aircraft carry the 'round ball w/star', pre Sept 1943. The MTO skin uses the roundel
      outlined in yellow.
All new skins, from a Home Grown Template ™ are in jpg format. New decals were created for
serials, plane-in-group letters and others. The serials are 'generic' in nature, as they
represent no particular unit, but ARE for the model variant depicted. Decal randomization is
set to TRUE. The orignal nose art decals from 2005 remain, but need replacements.
Weapons and guns are NOT included; you should have them already.
All the 1stGen Hangar and Loading screens were either rebuilt to SF2-spec, or created new for
this package. They are in jpg format. Damage textures are new, in DDS format.

The inis make use of the 'hide component' or the 'open cockpit' statements to make sure the
cockpits are where they're supposed to be. This, unfortunately, prevents their use in SF/Wo*
games at the 06 patch level, as stated above. Flight modeling, for the most part, remains as
originally issued, with some small tweeking by me. However, it NEEDS a better one!!

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read
them!!! PLEASE read the "Notes" section for the change list, and other important notations, in
      particular for in-game usage.
For those that have the 1stGen releases, it's advised you delete, or move to a storage disk or
elsewhere, the aircraft and decals folders for them; this pak is desinged to replace them in
      total.

**These aircraft herein are released in "AS IS" Condition. There are SEVERAL issues with the
LOD that cannot be resolved. Period. Any and all issues/problems that cannot be solved via ini
edits will exist forever, as new models are unlikely to be created**

      Hawker Tempest V
The Hawker Tempest was a British fighter aircraft primarily used by the Royal Air Force (RAF) in the Second World War. The Tempest was an improved derivative of the Hawker Typhoon, intended to address problems with the Typhoon's unexpected low performance by replacing its wing with a much thinner laminar flow design. It emerged as one of the most powerful fighters used during the war.

    11. SF2 WW2 CBI B-24D Liberator Pak

      SF2 WW2 B-24D Liberator, CBI Pak by Veltro2K 6/1/2014
      (Full 4/5 Merged Reccomended)

This pack contains a NEW aircrft, by Veltro2k; the B-24D Liberator as seen in in the China, Burma, India Theatre. Be advised, that while there wasn't too much 'crossover' between the 10 AF in India and the 14th AF in China, for gaming purposes it won't matter much.
You are advised, however, to have a seperate CBI mods folder (even though the new India/Burma/Indochina map is far from completed).

      The unit(s) represented herein are:

      10th AF (India):
      493rd BS, 7th BG (star-and-ball, 42/43)
      9th BS, 7th BG (star-and-bar, late 43 thru 45)

      14th AF (China):
      374th BS, 308th BG (43)

All Aircraft are painted in the standard finish of OD/Neutral Grey.
Each of the skins will display their theatre association (B/I) or © on the Loadout Screen's drop down.
The skins are in jpg format. All markings are decals (excepting the wing national markings). The serials, when carried, are 'generic' in nature, as they represent no particular unit, but ARE for the model variant depicted. Decal randomization is set to TRUE. 10th & 14th AF squadron numbering conventions (plane-in-group numbers) are used on these aircraft. There are NO nose arts. Other texture artists are encouraged to do the research, and create proper artwork decals.
Weapons, pilot figures and guns are NOT included; you should have them already.
A new "generic" Hangar screen was created for this mod. Damage textures are in DDS format.

      When in game you'll see

      B-24D Liberator (v2k)

This will differentiate this Lib from any others you may have (ie: Pasko's).

MiG-17K and MiG-17KP Soviet Navy carrierborne fighters (What if) v1.1
      *****************************************************
This mod is made for SF2NA.

      ----------------------------------------------------------
      I. History

In 1946 the UK had a lot of major problems. It suffered high losses during WW2 and war damages all over the country were significant. The industry layed down and a lot of war depts pressed the economy further. On the other hand the Royal Navy had a lot of ships which were not neccessary anymore. So it was decided to sell some major ships, including aircraft carriers. So the HMS Colossus was sold to France, the HMS Warrior went to Canada. The Netherlands wanted to buy the Venerable and Australia was interessted in the Venegance.
1946 the Soviet Union showed their wish to buy 3 carriers of the Colossus class and offered a price of 50tons of fine gold. So the last 3 carriers of the Colossus class, the Theseus, Triumph and Perseus were handed over to the Soviet Sea War Fleet and became the names TAKR Odessa, TAKR Kronstadt and TAKR Sewastopol.
Odessa and Kronstadt were operated by the Northern Fleet, while the Sewastopol was operated by the Baltic fleet for 6 years. In 1952 all carriers were sent back to Navy wharfs to refit them with an angle deck. the blueprints of this innovative design was stolen by the Cambridge Five. In 1955 the Odessa became operational again The Kronstadt followed one year later and the Sewastopol reentered the service in 1957. All 3 carriers were used till mid 70th.

After refit with angle deck the MiG-17 became the core of the Odessa flight group. The MiG-17K was developed from the MiG-17F and was used for daylight operations and in the air to ground role. For bad weather and night operations the MiG-17KP was developed from the MiG-17PF. In 1967 both types were updated to carry the AA-2 Atoll (R-3S) missile.

    13. [Fictional] Lockheed F-90 Sentinel for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2

Fictional mod of the stock MiG-15bis to make it look like a fictional fighter plane for the USAF and the USMC.

YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE BOTH EXPANSION PACKS. OTHERWISE THE PLANE WON'T SHOW UP!
      BACKGROUND

In January of 1950, a soviet spy operating in Japan got uncovered by the local secret service. His task was to spy on local american industrial and military efforts in Japan and, at the same time, to hamper the secret services of both Japan and the US. The hampering was a top priority mission, since the Soviet Union was transferring fighter aircraft using container ships from Vladivostok to the communist movements in China and Korea.

Since the punishment for spying is death, the russian spy hoped to escape that fate by collaborating with the locals and asking for political asylum. In exchange, he offered top secret information for his life.

Among many interesting details concerning military and internal matters, the soviet spy also revealed, that the container ships were transporting weapons, heavy material and a new combat aircraft. All that goods were hidden in between
food and health supplies. Tanks and weapon caches got covered with huge tarpaulins, which were then covered with rice or grain shipments.

This information was but nothing compared to the fact, that the new soviet jet fighter, the MiG-15, was transported in large containers which were declared containing agricultural equipment and even toys.

The spy handed out a coded document, which contained all transports including their shipment and their routes. With the pretense of a security control, the japanese coast guard and some american marines boarded one of the ships containing the "Fagot". After a short firefight, where three of the crewmen, one japanese and one american soldier died, the crew surrendered and the control team was able to inspect the containers, finding twelve fully operational MiGs, destined to northern Korea. The ship was re-routed to Yokohama, where a CIA-operated containership brought the aircraft to the US. The Soviet Union accused the US of stealing goods from one of their ships, not stating the kind of goods.

After having presented these accusations during a United Nations conference two weeks later, the representatives of several countries wanted to know from the soviet delegate what exactly had been stolen. The soviet delegate refused to answer and stated, that the matter had already been discussed in between the ambassadors of both countries (during a secret meeting). The Soviet Union had to fear harsh international reactions and economical damage when it came out, that the country was selling weapons the "contraband"-style.

Back in the US, the fighter did undergo several testings, specially concerning acceleration and manouverability checks. It was also tested, how much damage this aircraft was able to bear before crashing down.

All test pilots agreed that the MiG was not that easy to fly, but that it pardoned a lot.

The ministry of defense, after the evaluation of the results, got of the opinion, that it would be a great enrichment to use this technology for their own aircraft industry and started a competition parting from the MiG-15.
North American, Bell and Lockheed got under the final three with their designs resulting in Lockheed being the winner with the F-90 Sentinel. Their aircraft was the existing MiG, using different materials, engine and armament but preserving the flight characteristics of the plane.

The engine was changed to the Pratt & Whitney J48, which had to be slightly adapted to the fuselage of the aircraft. The cannons of the MiG got replaced with two 20mm M3 and one 37mm M4 Cannons for targets with heavier armor.
It's maiden flight was on the 19th of May of 1951. Two squadrons in the USAF and one USMC squadron received the Sentinel.
While the USAF used the aircraft for anti-air missions, the USMC Sentinels performed ground support and striking sorties.
The Sentinel entered service on the 24th of August of 1951 in the USAF and 9th of September of 1951 in the USMC.

    17. SF2 WW2 MTO USAAF P-40K-5 Pak

      SF2 WW2 MTO USAAF P-40K-5 Pak 5/24/2014

-- Something for the WW2 MTO players --

      = For SF2 ONLY, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =

*Note: this pak MAY be usable in 1stGen SF/Wo* game installs. However, some features (decal randomization and FM adjustments and several other things) will =NOT= be functional. Use in 1stGens has not, and cannot be,
      tested by me.*

**Notex2: this mod is designed for use =ONLY= in a MTO-Centric mods folder**

At first, I was just going to do a simple skin/decals pack. But with all the "modifications" made to fit into SF2 chose to take the "lazy man's way out" and am just uploading the entire aircraft. So, if you already have Raven's P-40K in your MTO-centric mods folder, best to back it up someplace.

This is the full aircraft, with my 'tweeked' sf2-ish data ini. The skin included is for...

      64th FS, 57 FG

as seen in early 1943 in North Africa.

Skins remain in their bmp format.
New DDS damage textures (usable on all Raven's Warhawk/Kittyhawk in SF2 only) are included!
All markings are decals, and Decal Randomization is TRUE. There are no nose arts. Also, via the use of my (patent pending) fake "SqTail" decal, the squadron name display is now active on the Loadout Screen.
No weapons are included, except an SF2 Version of the drop tank (for those that haven't converted it yet), and 30# fragmentation bombs.

When in-game, on the aircraft selection drop-down, you'll see

      P-40K-5 CU (Raven)

This will diferentiate this for any other Warhawks you may (or may not) have.
It should be noted, that of all the AAF P-40 equipped units in the Med, my source material stated that ONLY the 64th recieved the K model Warhawks.

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!

      Good Hunting!!

The Boeing E-3 Sentry, commonly known as AWACS, is an airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft developed by Boeing as the prime contractor. Derived from the Boeing 707, it provides all-weather surveillance, command, control and communications, and is used by the United States Air Force (USAF), NATO, Royal Air Force (RAF), French Air Force and Royal Saudi Air Force. The E-3 is distinguished by the distinctive rotating radar dome above the fuselage. Production ended in 1992 after 68 aircraft had been built.

    19. Bell P-39 D Airacobra

The Bell P-39 Airacobra was one of the principal American fighter aircraft in service when the United States entered World War II. The P-39 was used with great success by the Soviet Air Force, which scored the highest number of individual kills attributed to any U.S. fighter type. Other major users of the type included the Free French, the Royal Air Force, the United States Army Air Forces, and the Italian Co-Belligerent Air Force.
Designed by Bell Aircraft, it had an innovative layout, with the engine installed in the center fuselage, behind the pilot, and driving a tractor propeller via a long shaft. It was also the first fighter fitted with a tricycle undercarriage.Although its mid-engine placement was innovative, the P-39 design was handicapped by the absence of an efficient turbo-supercharger, limiting it to low-altitude work. Together with the derivative P-63 Kingcobra, the P-39 was one of the most successful fixed-wing aircraft manufactured by Bell.

    20. MiG-21bisD1-3

      MiG-21bisD1-3 german updateprogram (What if)
      ***********************************

      ----------------------------------------------------------
      I. This mod is written for SF2
(a special WoE version is available in the download section)

      +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
      II. History:

In January 1991 the Bundesverteidigungsministerium (ministery of defence of the Federal Republic Germany) decided to phase out all MiG-21 which were handed over after the reunification of Germany and scrap them.
Two mounth later ingenieurs of the german DASA company (became later part of EADS) wrote a letter of memorandum to the chairmen of their company. In their memo they stated, that an updateprogram for the MiG-21 would be a profitable cashcow for the DASA company. As reasons for their statement they gave some points:
      1. Repair and updatefacilities are already existing with the Flugzeugwerft Dresden
      2. Skilled personal is available
      3. Good connections to eastern Europe contries are given, because a lot of WP MiG's were repaired and overhauled in Dresden in the past.
      4. The eastern european states are attempting to leave the zone of influence of the Sovietunion and will try to become closer to the western alliance.
      5. The economic situation of the former WP states is so weak, that it is unlikely, that they will be able to purchase modern western equipment in the next decade. What means, that they will use the weapons they already have for a while.
      6. The backbone of the fighter fleet of states like Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary and Romania is still the MiG-21. Its an easy and cheap to operate plane and it is believed, that this plane will held in operational status till the year 2000.
Conclusion: For states which are willing to become members of the NATO and still operating the MiG-21 is an offer of a german made MiG-21 update program a welcome gift. It brings the MiG-21 to NATO standard and helps the economic weak states to operate a significant fighter fleet. To support our selling attempts is is neccessary, that the Luftwaffe must operate the updated MiG-21 in significant numbers over a periode of 5 years minimum.

In March 1991 the chairmen of the DASA decided to start a MiG-21 update program. Close informal connections to the Bundeskanzleramt and the MOD changed the fate of the MiG-21 in german service. The former east german Jagdgeschwader 8, based in Preschen, was relaunched under the new name "Erprobungsgeschwader 8". As operating aircraft only the MiG-21bis was choosen.

In April 1991, the DASA offered 3 update levels for the MiG-21 with the task to improve the combat capabilities of the plane by minimal changes in original design. The project name was MiG-21bisD. The D stands for Deutschland, the german name for Germany.

MiG-21bisD1, electronic update. It consist of the replacement of the RP-22 radar with the italian Grifo-7M, the implementation of an avionics container at the tailfin root, which contains an internal jammer SPS-142, a chaff - flare dispenser and parts of the NATO compatible radio equipment. The weapon system was modified to operate Sidewinder missiles, side by side with soviet made weapons. Only the R-3R missile was withdrawn, because the radar was unable to guide this weapon. The first MiG-21bisD1 was ready in November 1991 and entered the german service in spring 1992. In August 1992 the first MiG-21bisD1 was sold to Poland.

MiG-21bisD2, agility update. With this update the MiG-21bis got a pair of canards to improve the agility of the plane, an inflight refuel probe, new NATO compatible radio and a new french made IFF system. The radar RP-22 was slightly improved by better computers, so that the range was increased by 10% and the target quisition time reduced by 50%. The weapon system changes consist only of the Sidewinder implementation. The first D2 was completed in December 1991 and entered german service in summer 1992. First costumer was the Hungary in spring 1993, followed by Croatia in summer 1993.
A subversion was the MiG-21bisD2Cz for the Czech Republic which based on the MiG-21MF-75 and was delivered in mid 1993. This planes got the updated RP-22DM radars taken from the former east german MiG-21bis, but still had the old R-13-300 engines.

MiG-21bisD3, full NATO compatibility. This modification included the MiG-21bisD1 avionic update and the D2 agility update. Additionally the plane plane got a new engine. The old R-25-300 was replaced by the RB-199 Mk.105 which was developed for the Tornado ECR. It was ~ 5% stronger than the R-25 and a good piece shorter. The now existing space was used for a bigger internal fuel volume. In Spring 1992 the first MiG-21bisD3 started for maiden flight, but the program came to a temporary stop, when the british company GEC Marconi Avionics offered their Blue Hawk and Blue Vixen radars to the program. In summer 1992 the implementation of the Blue Vixen was finished and in spring 1993 the plane became able to operate the new american AIM-120A AMRAAM missile. The first MiG-21bisD3 entered the german service in November 1993. It proofed as a reliable, capable and cheap to operate aircraft. In 1993 the "Erprobungsgeschwader 8" was renamed in JG75 "Erich Hartmann". It operated the MiG-21bisD3 and a later D4 update till it was replaced by the first Eurofighter Typhoon in 2004.
Poland got the D3 in 1995, Romania in 1996. India showed an increased interesse for a licence production of the D3, but when the USA denied the AMRAAM capability India retreated from program and purchased the MiG-21BISON from Russia.

    21. Handley Page Halifax MK III

The Handley Page Halifax was one of the four-engined heavy bombers of the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. A contemporary of the famous Avro Lancaster, the Halifax remained in service until the end of the war, performing a variety of duties in addition to bombing. The Halifax was also operated by squadrons of the Royal Canadian Air Force, Royal Australian Air Force, Free French Air Force, and Polish forces, and after the Second World War by the Royal Egyptian Air Force, the Armée de l'Air and the Royal Pakistan Air Force.

    22. [Fictional] McDonnell Douglas A-4K Skyhawk 'BAF'

McDonnell Douglas A-4K Skyhawk 'BAF' for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2

This is a very simple mod of the stock Third Wire DLC A-4K to give a fictional Belgian A-4K with markings for No.1, No.2 and No.42 squadrons of the Belgian Air Force with service years ranging from 1970 to 1991. If you haven't actually got the A-4K DLC you'll quickly be able to hack the contents to suit whatever you've got available to you. Please note that for simplicity (i.e. laziness) I've used the stock Mirage 5BA serial numbers.

      BACKSTORY

In early February 1968 the outgoing Belgian Paul Van den Boeynants announced that the Dassault Mirage 5 was to be purchased as the desperately needed Thunderstreak replacement for the Belgian Air Force. However, within days, massive student unrest and questions of discrimination against the ethnic Flemish population led to the bringing down of the Van den Boeynants government and a new incoming government led by Gaston Eyskens. The new government immediately cancelled the order for the Mirage 5BA and instead purchased the American A-4K Skyhawk in a reduced purchase of 48 A-4K single-seaters and 12 TA-4K two-seat trainers.

      INSTRUCTIONS

      1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the A-4K_BAF folder into your Aircraft folder.

      2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the A-4K_BAF folder into your main Decals folder.

      3. From the PILOTS folder drag and drop the PILOT_BAF folder into your main Pilots folder.

      4. From the WEAPONS folder drag and drop the Orpheus folder into your main Weapons folder.

      CREDITS

Thanks to TK and Third Wire for the continuous improvement of a great little game/sim.

Thanks also to Steve S for the splendid Orpheus reconnaissance pod.

And thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community.

      Regards

    23. SF2 WW2 ETO RAF Coastal Command Fortress IIA Pak

SF2 WW2 ETO RAF Coastal Command Fortress IIA Pak 5/10/2014

-- Something for the WW2 ETO players --

      = For SF2 ONLY, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =

**Note: Having any SF2 series game is HIGHLY reccomended, as this mod references the stock destroyed An-12. Also, due to modifications to various inis, this mod will probably -NOT- work in 06/08 level 1stGen game installs. This has not/cannot be tested by me. SF2NA is REQUIRED as part of you game installs, as this aircraft uses several NA-specific mission tasking for it's Naval Search and so forth.**

*This is a "Theatre Specific" & Nationalized release of Veltro2K's NEW!!! B-17E Flying Fortress Heavy Bomber. This package contains the Fortress IIA for RAF Coastal Command, in Europe =ONLY=.*

There is 1 skins/decal set in this pack:

No. 220 Squadon, RAF Coastal Command, as based in Northern UK and Northern Ireland, for North Sea and Atlantic patrols.

The Skin is in jpg format. The serials ARE historically correct for the aircraft, but should be considered 'generic' in nature, as they represent no specific aircraft in a particular squadron.
All markings are decals. All lighting is historically correct. Damage textures are in DDS format.

It should be noted, this mod is for use -ONLY- in an ETO-centric mods folder; research seems to poin to these aircraft having only been used over the Atlantic. In this case, RAF Fortress IIAs were replaced by Liberator GR.V/VI/VII in 1944.

      When in-game, you'll see:

      Fortress IIA (V2K)

on the aircraft selection. While no other E models exist, this is simply done as a convenience.

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!! PLEASE read the "Notes" section for other important notations.

      Happy Landings!!

    24. Armée de l'air Mirage IIIR and IIIRD

Armée de l'air Mirage IIIR and Mirage IIIRD

      What's in:

A complete MOD representing the different versions of the IIIR used by the Armée de l'air.

      More in detail:

      *** Mirage IIIR ***

      Version with no radar
      Correct cockpit with RWR
Skins for squadrons: Savoie, Belfort and Moselle (Different times; early and late)

      *** Mirage IIIRD ***

      Version with radar
Not correct cockpit as it has no scope, if you want to have both scope and rwr you can use the original Mirage Factory cockpit for the Mirage IIIE
Skins from squadron Moselle , the only squadron that used this type of aircraft.

See changelog for more infomation of what has changed.

      Instalation:

Just drag everything into the MOD folder.

      REQUIREMENTS:

Mirage IIIO DLC If you don't have it, forget about this MOD.

      --------------Known Issues---------------

It is still a beta version but as it is a very important plane for Strike Fighters 2 Europe I decided to upload the mod "imcomplete" so , What it is missing?

      1) Correct Tail numbers
      2) Côte d'or squadron for the IIIR
      3) Integration of the 1700 liter fuel tank
      4) Repaint of the fuel tanks for 500 and 1300 liters.

    25. A-4L Skyhawk by Crab_02 & Column5

      A-4L Skyhawk, VC-13 "Fighting Saints" Skin/Decal Pak
      = For SF2 (Full-4 Merged Prefered) and/or SF2:V =

*Can be used in any install that has access to the A-4C_65, which is stock in all merged installs, excepting a stand-alone SF2:I. However, it does use the A-4E_67 Cockpit and Avionics ini, which is only availabe in SF2:V. Hence, the 'Full-4 Merged' tag is applicable*

Complete overhaul of the A-4L Skyhawk as originally released in 2004 by Crab02 and Column5. For historical purposes, their original readme is included.
This mod makes use of all stock, "in-game" items, excepting for the avionics hump.

All inis have been updated to the latest patch level (August, 2011); the loadout ini has some minor changes for a couple of mission profiles. The data ini has had the landing light added, and (of course!) the canopy activated, via manual animation. Use shift/0 to open and close it.
All 'standard' Skyhawk mission profiles are retained.
The avionics hump has been converted to a 'pilot seat' using the fake pilot method (the FakePilot is also supplied, just in case). The mid fuselage upper light position has been adjusted to match that on the hump.
A new SF2 style hangar screen jpg is also included
Decal randomization has been set to "TRUE", so be at least at whichever patch level gave this to us.

As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them ....

      IMPORTANT NOTE:
If you have the DLC A-4L from Third Wire, do NOT download this mod. It will cause major conflicts. They should not be mixed in any way!!!
If you do NOT have the 3W DLC A-4L, this is safe for your use.
